Welcome to Camp Canon. A small site situated at the base of a natural cliff line tucked away in wooded lands, surrounded by hundreds of undeveloped acres. 10 minutes from Lake Taghkanic State park and 20 minutes from Bash Bish, this camp is literally centrally located in Columbia County. 15 minutes drive north and you’ll be at the highest waterfall in the county; High Falls in Philmont. Privacy is key. Our rescue doggy Roxxie will undoubtedly stop over for a visit as our residence is about a hundred yards away nearby undetectable. You’ll hear some echos from traffic off the TSP but it sounds like wind or running water since there’s no commercial traffic allowed on that road.

You’ll park about 1/4 of a mile past the house driveway to the “wood shed.” If you pass a barn, you’ve gone too far! Park in the open lot, then hike a beautiful 150 yards into the woods to your campsite. $20 of firewood is included with your stay. If you need more, pull from the area. Please do not take any extra cut/split wood without permission or purchase. There’s plenty lying around! Be ready to expect Roxxie anytime. She might bark at first but just say “Hi Roxxie!” And she’ll smile (for real) and come wagging her tail for pets and cuddles if you let her.

Welcome to our camper, tucked away on the edge of a tiny stream that cuts through our home property. This site is fully powered with running water and high speed wifi! It's a 32' 5th-wheel camper with queen bed in the slightly elevated room to the front. Bathroom, shower (with HOT water!) in the same elevated area. Kitchen, table, couch (pulls out to a full size bed) and staging area (which also can fit a full size air mattress) are located on the main level. Yes, it's old with wear n tear...

Great location, could use some love

The location of the site was great, as was the price! And with a bit of attention, I think it could be a great HipCamp. It mostly felt unattended to: there was a broken down tent with standing water on it attracting bugs, the composting toilet hadn't been cleaned in a while, and there was a leftover wet piece of material on the main spot the tent was supposed to go. The directions were not the clearest to find it, either.

Great spot, isolated and peaceful

What a peaceful, beautiful spot. The RV was so nice that we decided to pass on the tents and just sleep inside it. Comfy, air conditioned, great spot for the fire out. A wonderful, relaxing stay.

Beautiful, quiet stay in the woods at the base of a cliff. Close to lakes and waterfalls where you can swim. He even has a small pond with kayaks and a zip line (Mike was kind enough to help my young son use it, he had a blast). Great trip.
