Nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, this 87-acre expanse of forest, streams, and lake is the perfect escape from the business of life. Located in the Adirondack State Park directly on Beaver Lake, we have access to the lake and Beaver River flow and the wide expanse of forests and trails of the park. With heated cabins, water and electric RV sites, and outdoor tenting areas, we provide a camping experience that can be tailored to fit the needs of small and large groups. Whether it's cozying up around the fire in one of our indoor lounging areas; pitching a tent at our outpost camp lean-to site in the middle of the woods; sipping complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, or tea as you watch the sunrise over the lake; or hiking through the woods (or across the lake when its frozen over) and watching the wildlife, Beaver Camp offers a great opportunity to unplug and soak in the peace and quiet of nature.

Enjoy your own private island at Chicken Coop Island! The entire island is at your disposal, with the tenting area and firepit being located in the center of a wooded clearing. The island provides scenic views of the Beaver Camp main camp area as well as Beaver Lake and the surrounding wildlife. Tents can be pitched on the ground or on a wooden platform. An outhouse is available on the island, and hot showers and bathroom facilities are available on the mainland, a short paddle away. (Canoe, paddle, and lifejacket use are included in site rental. Please let us know how many boats you will need.) Also, free parking for up to 2 vehicles is available at the main part of camp.

Our ballfield tenting area is in a clearing that is completely surrounded by dense woods located a quarter-mile from the main road. It features an open sky view, private firepit, outhouse, and the wonderful sounds that nature provides. This site also features a Lean-to. Potable water is available onsite via a spigot; hot showers and flushable toilets are available at the Bathhouse on the main part of camp (half-mile walk/drive). Due to poor trail conditions, this site is a walk-to only site during the winter and spring. Free parking for up to 2 vehicles is available at the trailhead on the main part of camp, and the site is 1/4 mile hike along a beautiful wooded trail.

Our outpost lean-to site is nestled in the woods and provides platform tent camping options, a firepit, and plenty of privacy and elbow room! An outhouse is available on-site and hot showers and bathroom facilities are 1/4 mile hike to the main camp facilities. Due to the location of the site, this is a walk-to only camping site, but free parking is available at the trail head. Guests should expect a 1/4 mile hike to the site.

This grassy area on the shore of Beaver Lake provides beautiful views of the lake, prime access to the boat launch and the amenities of main camp, and has a nearby firepit for cooking over. Site reservation includes access to our canoes, funyaks, sail boats, and paddleboats, as well as seasonal use of our swim area when a lifeguard is on duty (June - early September). The camping area can be soggy at times of heavy rainfall. Please contact our office if you would like to set up an RV at this site.

These heated cabins located in our Main Lodge provide three separate sleeping areas with two full bathrooms, 3 full beds, and 19 twin mattress (most in bunkbeds). Also included in this booking is access to our Deer Lodge meeting area and full kitchen. Given that these cabins are located in the Main Lodge, you are conveniently located near our complementary hot beverages, shared meeting room with rockers and fireplace, and a small family room with couches. The Main Lodge also features beautiful views of Beaver Lake and has WiFi access.

Site 4 - Chicken Coop Island

We loved staying at Beaver Lake Camp! The seclusion on chicken coop island was perfect and made for a perfect long weekend trip. Our favorite part was taking a sunset paddle around the lake and seeing beavers, turtles, and loons up close.

Site 4 - Chicken Coop Island

It was an amazing place with lots of cabins for groups of people or private campers that wanted amenities. My friends and I chose to stay on Chicken coop island. It was incredible. The lake was serene. Despite having to haul all our stuff there and back, it was well worth it. Oh and also the fire pit had no grills but we cooked on the rocks anyway.

Beaver camp is such a special place. So many things to do- beautiful lake and water activities, wooded trails, clear skies, board games, and many friendly faces. Mark and Patty were so sweet and made us feel so welcome! Thank you for everything!

Great camping on Chicken Coop

Site 4 - Chicken Coop Island

Camping at Beaver Camp was so fun. Me and my partner stayed on chicken coop island and had a great time. The island is a short paddle away from the mainland, about 5-7 minutes. Michael was very nice and said to call him if we have any questions. Packing as light as possible for a site like this is most likely your best option since you the lighter you pack the less canoe rides you have to take back and forth trying to bring your stuff to the island. There was an outhouse and a wood platform for the tents on the island and showers/flushable toliets on the mainland. The area did have mosquitoes, which makes sense because we went in mid/late may, plus the Adirondack’s has mosquitos any where you go. But the insects were tolerable and were honestly not that bad. Ultimately we highly recommend camping on Chicken Coop Island!

We camped on the mainland instead of the island. It is a beautiful camp with a lovely lake. Clean bathrooms with showers were close by. Host was great. They provided hot and cold beverages and meals were available for a fee.

We had an amazing experience at Beaver Camp to watch the eclipse. Michael was an exceptional host and really made us feel welcomed. He checked in with us and him, and his team were always there to support us and answer our questions. The Camp was amazing with so many things to do. We even took the canoe out on the lake. I highly recommend this site.
