Great camp
Had a lovely 2 night stay at Tarahleigh. Great welcome from the host Janette and her husband Ted. She showed us to campsite 1 which is the best next to a small dam, but would be happy to stay at any of the others. Plenty of room between sites. Lots of birdlife and kangaroos. Our dog enjoyed the long runs on a big long lead, so much to sniff and smell!!! Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

This camp sites such a wonderful peaceful, it really suite when you trying to escape from the city life chilling with nature quiet place, humble. Note: you don’t have to bring the firewood, you can buy from the host. At night time really freezing prepare your warm blanket 😂🤣

Beautiful property and dog friendly
Stunning property with loads of space away from other campers and very dog friendly. We had such a lovely time and will be back. We stayed in camp spot 1 which is next to the dam and we think that might have been the best spot of all. Bring a fly trap if you have one, could just be the time of year but plenty around.

Nice quiet place to
This was a great place to camp - a big grassy paddock with plenty of space. Janette appreciated the campers’ quest for the ‘perfect outlook’ and offered a few options unprompted. Number one spot by the dam is best if it’s available. Very convenient to the Hunter Valley wineries. They sell firewood - just ask.

Beautiful setting with lots of trees and kangaroos about. Janette selects the camp locations and ensures each booking is spread out in their own space.
Port a loo also has a hand basin with rain water and soap to wash hands.
Some distant traffic / road noise, but not significant to impact the broader peacefulness of the setting.

Great location for the wineries
Janette was very accommodating of our larger group. There was plenty of space to spread out, even with other groups on site. The view over the pond was lovely and you felt secluded. The property was beautifully maintained and the grass a good length even outside the direct camp spot.
The toilet is a pit toilet, but it’s very well kept - clean and not smelly (toilet spray and paper provided). The wood available to purchase is a generous amount for the cost and Janette even started our fire the first night.
The location was fantastic for exploring the Hunter, it was short drive to most wineries and the shops.

Good base to explore the Hunter V
Janette is a wonderful host who has a lovely property. You would hardly know you were camping with other people, it’s very private and although we didn’t need them, Jeanette’s place even comes complete with ammenities.

What a great spot, beautiful farm, and awesome camp facilities. Thanks so much, we will be back and possibly fairly regularly. Was great that even fully booked it was a good 50-80m between us and the next closest camp. Highly recommend

We loved Janettes property. Big grassy sites. Suitable for big vans or tents. A clean toilet with sink. Fire pits and lots of wood. A few other vans were there too but we barely noticed them. Great location not far from main road. We wished we had more time to stay longer! We will definitely be back.

The BEST wine country camp spot
Janette makes you feel at home as she meets you at the gate and directs you to the spots, we had a lovely spot site 1 near the dam. Plenty of room for all size rigs we hav an 18 foot van and easily accessed this property even in the wet the grounds held. So much room for the kids to run around and feed the birds, in the mornings we watched the kangaroos hop around the property. The town closest is 8 mins away with a dump point & bins it also had great pubs and clubs with kids playgrounds and a fantastic new park with a scooter/bike track. We easily explored the wine region and the Hunter gardens. Janette has maps and will mark whatever interests you, the sites are so spaced out it felt like we had the place to ourselves which we did most of the time anyway. The property is so well maintained very neat and tidy, very peaceful spot and worth a stop!

What a great spot! About 15-20 minutes from the Hunter Valley wineries which is super handy. All of the spots were flat and well maintained. Owner was super friendly. We will definitely be coming back.

We had a great nights sleep at Jeanette's place. Whisper quiet. The camping area is large, quite flat with some nice shade trees. The sites are very well spaced out. Jeanette was friendly and was happy for us to pick our spot as there was only one other camper that night.

A lovely spot
Loved staying on Janette’s property. We were next to a lovely pond. Kangaroo nearby every morning and evening, along with many birds. We took Janette’s advice and visited nearby Hunter vineyards and restaurants. Janette was very friendly and helpful.

Peace and tranquility
We had such a lovely and peaceful stay. Shame it was only one night this time, but we will definitely be back to stay longer next time we are travelling through the area. The property is very well maintained and so tranquil. Easy to find off the highway, no traffic noise whatsoever! Perfect!

We had a beautiful night at The Vineyards Doorstep. It was quiet, only a few other campers on site. The birds, kangaroos and lovely trees on the park like acres made for a relaxing evening. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset and a very pretty foggy sunrise.
Janette greeted us at the gate and showed us around the camping area. She was very warm and welcoming.
We had our old labrador Lilly with us and she loved the space, the smells and sounds also.
If you are looking for somewhere to just enjoy peace and quiet but also want to feel safe and secure this is it.
