Perfect Get Away

I live locally, 30 minutes away and desperately needed a weekend away. Peter & Jannine’s beautiful spot on the creek was perfect. Quiet, clean and well maintained. Very friendly and helpful, delivered firewood to our campsite. A lot of places in the past have discriminated when they see we have a Rottweiler however they didn’t. Thank you so much ☺️

We had a fabulous time! The property was absolutely beautiful and it was clear how much effort has gone into maintaining the space. We had lots of space and a beautiful view of the creek and surrounds. The site was clean and easy to access, and there was plenty of firewood available for purchase. The bathrooms and showers were amazing and so convenient to have close by. Peter and Janine were lovely and so acccomodating. We would absolutely stay here again!

Very special place to stay

The entire experience was wonderful. Beautiful spot, awesome camp kitchen/community lounge area. The property is maintained perfectly and with great care. Peter and Janine are so lovely and super helpful. There is also a beautiful national park walking trails a short drive away. We can’t wait to visit again.

Platypus Lookout - powered site B

Powered Site-A glamping. Group of five to six caravans, all families with young kids camping together, and had a fantastic time. The campsites were spacious, with plenty of lush grass and a beautiful location right beside the creek. Heaps of room for larger caravans and motorhomes to pull in and set up comfortably. Jannine was an excellent host—friendly, approachable, and always available if we needed anything. Communication before and during our stay was fantastic. The amenities were spotless, with clean toilets and hot showers that were well maintained throughout our stay. Firewood was conveniently available on site for $20 per bag, and the weekend coffee shop was a great bonus. We also really enjoyed the live music on Friday night. A couple of things to keep in mind: during winter, even light rain or heavy morning dew can make the grassy sites quite wet and muddy, so it's worth choosing your setup carefully to make departure easier. Roads leading to the property have narrow bridges and a few steep sections. We towed our 21ft van with Pajero Sport in without any issues, but it's something to be aware of if you're bringing a larger rig (eapecially new caravanners). This looks like a popular spot during school holidays and long weekends. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back. If you're looking for a peaceful, family-friendly campsite by the creek with great facilities and welcoming hosts, this is a fantastic choice.

We loved our time at Rainforest Getaway, being by the rivers edge was beautiful. The amenities were amazing, with the facilities were very clean. The camp kitchen was beautiful and the live music was such a treat! The sites are alot smaller than we expected but we still absolutely enjoyed our time.

A wonderful mini break

We spent 3 nights in our caravan on a powered site Peter and Jannine and Vicki and Michael (the hosts) are so nice friendly and welcoming. The campground is wonderful and well cared for with power water. The amenities building is super clean with toilets nice hot showers and a great laundry if required. My husband and I and stayed in many campgrounds over the years and this one is definitely up there. Location is great too with an hours drive to nimbin and kyogle close by. Thank you for an awesome stay Would definitely highly recommend Charlotte and Russ

Camping oasis with dogs.

We caravanned here with our dogs. Flat site with power & water. Brilliant social area off the camp kitchen. Creek appears to be a permanent water source and has lots of shallows for kids and dogs as well as some deeper areas for fun in kayaks. Creek has easy access. Grounds and facilities are clean, well maintained and water is hot in the bathroom. Definitely recommend this property.

Camping beside the creek was so beautiful 🥰 the kids loved the trains coming past it was something really different. The camp kitchen and lounge area is total vibe. The kids loved playing board games up there. Just needs a hot water tap for wash up 🧼 otherwise it has everything else you could need! The creek was so beautiful just like Lord of the Rings, the kids kayaked and fished!

Rainforest Gateway is the perfect camping spot! All the large, flat sites overlook the river, and the 'camp kitchen' nearby is a fabulous spot for eating, lounging and cooking. We thought it was wonderful not to encounter large crowds, and we really appreciated the 'camp parents' Michael & Vicki.

Beautiful creek side camping

All sites are well sized, beautifully maintained and positioned with access to creek. The caretakers are lovely and do an amazing job with ensuring amenities are 10/10 - especially the camp kitchen with lots of various seating options including lounges, dining & bar tables. Also a great place to stay with well behaved dogs that enjoy a bit more space to run around. Will be back!

Beautifully kept camping area, spotlessly clean amenities, great camper’s kitchen and lovely community space for events and getting together. But the star of the show is of course the natural environment. A beautiful creek to swim in or just watch and listen to. Wonderful walks not too far away in the Border Ranges National Park and we saw or heard 23 different bird species.

We highly recommend staying here. Vicki and Mike were absolutely lovely and very accommodating. The creek is stunning. The whole camp is setup so well and very peaceful. We will be back.

Beautiful lush green sites along the creek. Amenities are clean and everything you could possibly need at the camp kitchen. Janine and Pete are so lovely and accomodating. Phone service (Telstra) Kayaks for hire. Even the trains that passed added to the charm. Thank you for having us.

We had such a lovely experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location is beautiful, with the creek running nearby, it was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature. My kids had a great time exploring the surroundings and playing by the creek. Access Friendly Site

I really enjoyed my time at Rainforest Gateway. I could take my dog for walks on the lead and he loved it. Swimming in the creek and exploring the grounds. The camp kitchen was very well equipped and also very clean. I spent 4 nights there and it was so relaxing, nana naps during the day and apart from the freight trains passing through at night which really wasn’t to bad, got used to them after 2 nights. I will definitely be heading back there again.

This would be by far, The best Hipcamp we have ever stayed at, gorgeous grounds. Beautifully maintained lovely free running creek swimming holes just an absolute beautiful place has a massive camp kitchen, just about want to live here. It’s so good.

Wife and I decided on a quick overnight camping trip saw this place and it look great when we arrive meet by a great host gave us all the info we needed and then taken to our spot which was great we set up have a swim in the river which was refreshing in the flowing water the camp kitchen. Was great and a common area that was huge showers/toilets were clean all in all a great spot . Only down side was the trains that came thru at nite not a big deal to us
