Rainforest Gay
We loved camping at Rainforest Gateway! Absolutely beautiful spot, the surrounds were stunning. Could walk around in bare feet for the entire time, beautiful grassy land. Needs a bit more shade for those super hot days, but can take a dip in the beautiful running creek. Would highly recommend a trip there, with the family or your fur kids. Will be back for sure!

Great Campsite and facilities. Off the beaten track following the delightful Lions road from Qld. Be mindful that there are freight trains passing by during the night.

Beautiful campsite
Such a beautiful location, lots of swimming can be done in the creek, the campsite is level with lovely grass that you can walk barefoot on. Toilets & showers are clean, the bush kitchen is well appointed & lots of Aussie comedic signs to keep you laughing. A top spot! I love the trains, not an issue like some make them out to be.

Quiet peaceful getaway
Wonderful bush camping with a 'rainforest' feel. Huge level sites on well kept grass. Flowing creek nearby with cool, clear water; birds can be seen and heard throughout the day. Amenities are clean and well maintained. This has become one of our favourite places and we'll definitely be back!

So serene and picturesque
My friend and I had no idea what to expect when we made the booking for Rainforest Gateway … we were very pleasantly surprised - so much so that we didn’t want to leave! Peaceful, good-sized sites, amenities, creek side camping, plus you can buy ice and wood supplies if you run out! How good is that?! We will definitely be back :)

Great camp spot
Great smallish camping ground next to a lovely creek and view of the mountains. Super easy to get to and close enough to local town to look around/ get supplies. Very clean and tidy. Only thing is there’s a train next door that goes by about 6 times a night.

I would camp there it looks like a nice camp ground. I wouldn't recommend the cabins though. It is right near the toilets and has a smell. The host is lovely though. Just beware the train is close by and comes a few times during the night. It is a nice area with plenty to do and explore.

Overall the setting of the sites were beautiful with a fresh running creek, well kept grounds, lush green grass, clean amenities and super friendly hosts. The nightly freight trains intermittently woke us through the night but nothing daily napping couldn't fix. It was pretty cool to see the lights of the trains at night on the trees as they came through the winding tracks.

Beautiful peaceful location. There isn’t much Jenny & Gary haven’t thought of with this place. Sites are really spacious, so there’s plenty of room between you and your neighbour. Camp kitchen is huge, well equipped, and has a great atmosphere, especially at night. Amenities are good. Firewood and ice available onsite is a big plus! Fire pits (drum type) wouldn’t be suitable for camp oven cooking. Telstra reception, but no Optus reception (not that I minded) All in all, a really nice place with a lot of character. Would happily go back sometime when I want to really escape the city. Thank you.

Gateway Rainforest by the Creek
I really enjoyed my stay at Gateway Rainforest. The sites are very generous, the camp kitchen has a lot of interesting deco/artwork, and I loved the fairy lights at night. The amenities are clean, the shower was lovely and hot, and the water pressure is good. You can have a wander along the creek, there is much Birdlife to admire and listen to. There was the occasional fright train, but I liked how the driver played a tune with his horn as he went past us on Friday night. Grady's Creek Rd has a few potholes, but aren't the best places arrived at like that anyway. I'll be back in the future for sure.

Beautiful place, stunning waterfront, great walks close by, great facilities, super friendly and helpful hosts. The trains 4 times throughout the night were extremely loud and meant we all went home pretty tired though. Not something you can sleep through.

Great spot close to the creek. Our hosts were amazing and made sure not to overcrowd the camping areas. Fire pits provided. Great undercover area with power, microwave, sink, bar, etc if you're inclined. Facilities were clean and stocked, hot showers, etc. Unfortunately our trip was rained out, but definitely worth a re-visit.

What a location!
This was one of the best places we have ever camped at. Absolutely loved every second of it with the location next to the creek. Facilities are clean and well maintained. The owner sells ice and firewood making this a legitimate one stop shop for camping. The price is really good per night and for wood/ice.

Creek swims, fire pits and fun!
We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it for another week. We just moved from an unpowered spot to a powered spot. The creek was great fun, we took our blow up plastic tubes and walked to the bridge and then floated all the way down to where we were parked. The camp kitchen was fantastic and very large. The amenities great, and a cute little shop with quirky wooden signs for sale and some odds and ends. Fire wood available and some of their home grown veggies. We will be back for sure!

Loved the location. Campsite peered out over the creek so was brilliant for kids to walk down and play in it. Sitting by the fire at night and listening to the stream was also very nice.

Quiet refuge from city life.
Fabulous place to unwind. Natural backdrop of greenery, water and a bellbird/whip bird soundtrack. Flat grass sites are quite spacious, showers, flushing toilets, camp kitchen… all for a very reasonable price. Close to road and rail line but the noise was not too intrusive. Fires allowed.

What a great way to wind down and escape the constant ( on call) lives we find ourselves in. We stayed an extra day loved the creek and it's access to all, facilities were very clean and more than adequate. Jenny ,Gary and Dan were very helpful with a refreshing rural honesty. Thanks for the memories.
