New name, same great location. Camp Crudine is the ideal getaway for groups and families to enjoy what nature has to offer. Located approximately 40 mins from Bathurst the camp is the ideal location to enjoy the tranquility of the bush. 4WD access ONLY Suitable for off-road camper trailers, tents and swags. Natural bushland consisting of 80 acres with the Crudine River along the boundary. We are part of the Sofala gold rush history (from the 1850s), sit back and imagine gold miners and their families camped along the banks. There are two campsites, Camp Crudine Kitchen and Camp Crudine Riverside. When you make your booking whether for 2 people or a group of family and friends the chosen campsite is all yours for the length of your stay. If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore. Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector. All findings must be returned to the host, lol. Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store. Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving. Dogs are welcome but they must be supervised and under control at all times. The owner has livestock on the property which must be respected at all times.

Camp Crudine Riverside Camp Crudine offers a secluded location for groups to enjoy the tranquility of the Australian Bush. Situated on approximately 80 acres you will feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere. Camp Crudine is accessible ONLY by 4WD Vehicles and is NOT suitable for caravans or motorhomes, camper trailers are welcome. Signage provides campers directions to the campsites. Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving. Dogs are welcome but must be supervised and under control at all times. Camp Crudine Riverside no amenities and campers are required to bring their own portable toilet. Camp Crudine Riverside is situated on the edge of the beautiful Crudine River. To access Camp Crudine Riverside you drive through Camp Crudine Kitchen and continue along the banks of the river. Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. Firewood can also be purchased from the General Store in Sofala. The Sofala Collective General Store is open from 8.30am to 4pm Thursday through Tuesday. The General Store has prospecting supplies, groceries, souvenirs, waffle ice creams, milkshakes, salad sandwiches and more. The Rustic Cafe is open from 9am to 2pm Wednesday to Monday. Need a coffee or something to eat then pop in and see the team, you won't be disappointed. Friday night they serve up amazing pizzas from 5pm to 7pm. The Royal Hotel Sofala is open every day from 12 midday. Enjoy a coldie and have a chat to the locals. The pub offers take away supplies and they do a great pie. No Bistro available.

Camp Crudine Kitchen The Kitchen is the perfect getaway for groups of family and friends, there is ample room for everyone with the kitchen available to meet and relax overlooking the Crudine river.   Camp Crudine offers a secluded location for groups to enjoy the tranquility of the Australian Bush. Situated on approximately 80 acres you will feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere. Camp Crudine is accessible ONLY by 4WD Vehicles and is NOT suitable for caravans or motorhomes, camper trailers are welcome. Signage provides campers directions to the campsites. Camp Crudine Kitchen overlooks the Crudine River and has a Camp Kitchen with a fireplace, plenty of bench space, table, chairs, Gas BBQ, and lighting, tank water is available for washing up however the water is not suitable for drinking. Appliances are powered by solar. There is a long drop toilet, bringing your own portable camp toilet is also recommended. The fridge and fan only run off a generator, if required guests may bring their own generator. Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided. Bonfires are not permitted at any time. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down. A stunning riverside camp that is completely private! It definitely needs. 4wd to access but that makes is that much better, it’s very secluded. The river is really clear and great for swimming. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We absolutely loved this campsite! I’d stay here for weeks at a time if I could. The scenery is beautiful, peaceful, and secluded - a perfect escape from the city. You’ll definitely need a 4WD to get to the site, but it’s well worth the effort. Glenn is a fantastic host, and we had such a great time. Highly recommend!

Camp Crudine is a very quiet and peaceful spot. It is 4WD access only, so some experience with 4WD is recommended. Not required, but it would definitely be very helpful in navigating the fun road to both sites. A lovely spot indeed. Thanks Camp Crudine.

We enjoyed camping on Glenns land. It was very peaceful and the kitchen added that extra touch of comfort. We had the whole space to ourselves and went exploring along the river bed. Certainly need a 4x4 to get to the camp site.

It was an absolute delight spending the long weekend camping on Glenn's property! The secluded campsite offered us the perfect private escape. We were so thrilled to spot wombats and kangaroos – what a treat! It truly was a place of peace and tranquility. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Highly recommend!

Great campsite on the river bank, actually not flowing at the moment. Awesome sights to be seen walking around the water course, with some big water holes. Tried fishing, but only saw large carp and a black snake. Seeing all the old gold workings put me in a space of times gone by. I've could've tried my hand at gold planning. Some good likely spots for gold to be hiding, but it was so relaxing at camp I lost my motivation to do so. Just sitting taking in all bush sounds, watching the kangaroos bouncing around the adjacent ridge. I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights here with my two dogs, will surely be back😀

Beautiful spot - plenty of bush to explore, lovely river to look at and a great bumpy track to keep the riff-raff out 🤣 Pet friendly, secluded and peaceful = 10/10 Thanks Glenn, loved it!

Great peaceful spot, I had the campsite further down the creek, totally private and quiet, I did arrive with a 4x4 camper trailer and once you head through the gate there is no turning back, wouldn’t recommend towing to this spot, even though the website says it’s ok , tent/swag etc only, I’ll definitely come back but with a tent only

We loved our 3 night stay at Camp Crudine Kitchen. The property is insanely beautiful and peaceful. We only bumped into a few roos and an echidna the whole time we were there! The Kitchen setup is insane, and made the trip so much more luxe. Having a reliable undercover shelter, with solar powered lights and a BBQ was amazing. We will definitely be back !

My family of 5 and our border collie enjoyed a night here and all I can say is I wished we’d planned to stay longer. There was so much space to roam and explore - and we had the spot to ourselves. But even if there’d been other campers at the kitchen site there’d still be plenty of privacy which is what we love. It felt like our own piece of heaven and the kids especially really appreciated the exclusivity of the river to swim and splash. Getting there was very easy in the 4WD (you’ll need low gear for a small bit of it) and the signage is great too. The camp area is flat and grassy so it was easy to pitch our tents - lots of space to pull the awning out from the car too which was awesome. Just be cautious of the Thistle that’s around some parts when exploring as they’re pretty spikey - but that definitely doesn’t detract from the experience. The river and rocky terrain is gorgeous. The sounds, the air, the stars…my family (and our dog) and I loved everything about this place and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you Glenn for offering a property that is a slice of happiness.

This campsite had it all. We stayed at the site with the Kitchen, which overlooked the river rapids. The riverbank was great to explore and take in the cliff scape and river views. We enjoyed panning for gold, fishing and marvelled at the remnants of the rock wall lining the riverbank, which the friendly host explained, was built by the Chinese gold miners. Steeped in history, this was an unforgettable camping experience, we will certainly be back again!

This is a superb bush location on a picturesque creek. Plenty of trees and shade. The wildlife is profuse. Quiet and restful. Highly recommended. Four wheel drive access only as advised.

Wow!! Camp Crudine was absolutely amazing! The hut was a great place to relax and congregated with our group of friends. We spent hours splashing around in the creek and finding lots of cool rocks with the kids.

Such a great spot! Very private and right on the lovely river, great for paddling and a deep spot for swimming up past the camp a little. Lots of shade. The kids had fun riding up and down the track alongside camp and we spent a lot of time floating in the river. The other site was occupied the whole time we were there and we couldn’t hear/see them at all. As others have said, definitely 4WD only with decent clearance. We’ll be back!

Great spot for a quiet family camp. River is perfect for paddling in and the site has everything you need for sunshine and rain. The solar/battery set up is ideal for basic power needs. Met Steve briefly when he came down the track to check all was good.

We stayed at the Camp Crudine Kitchen over Xmas day and Boxing Day, it was everything that we were looking for. The weather was perfect, the water perfect, the view and the stars at night were perfect and we had the solitude we were looking for. We cooked on the open fire every day with the hot plates that were provided. The long drop toilet was better than expected and having solar lighting in the camp kitchen was a bonus. We had a group of 8 adults and we all left saying we would be back. Glenn was a great communicator answering all my queries and questions in a timely manner. You definitely need a 4 WD to access the camp spots and need to bring your own firewood and drinking water. We would totally recommend this spot. 👍👍👍👍
