River front peace

The property right on the edge of the river, was super peaceful. My beloved caught a couple of fish. The owner came down to check we were happy, really nice personal touch. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed over the Easter long weekend and had a fantastic time. We arrived on the Saturday, a day later than most and still had lots of beautiful spots to choose from. It was quiet and beautiful views of the river. The kids enjoyed trying to catch a fish and had lots of space to run around. An ideal spot if you’re looking at a river getaway but still being within 10 minutes of town. Sean was very accommodating and answered all our questions. Would highly recommend.

Camping with Cattle!

Had a fantastic time camping at Riverside Campground! The grounds were impeccably maintained, which was really impressive. Loved seeing the cattle wandering nearby – it added to the peaceful, rural vibe. Access to the river was super easy, perfect for a quick dip or just relaxing by the water. There was loads of space, so we never felt crowded. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing camping trip! Highly recommend it.

Thanks Sean for hosting! It was a great camping area along the Murrumbidgee River and not far from Canberra. The location is a close drive back into Gundagai, and is dog friendly. The Caretaker was friendly and moved cattle into another yard so you get to enjoy your stay. Has a nice swimming or fishing area and overall you're not disturbed by anyone around you and you can enjoy the time you are there. I'll come back again.

Nice level spot next to the river with a sloping bank down to the water. We were the only campers there for the night which was very peaceful. Suggest that a longer strip of the paddock could be slashed to spread campers even though they wouldn’t have direct river access still get the view and sound of the running water.

This was our 1st hipcamp stay. We had a lovely time and most campers were friend and respectful with their animals. The portable water mentioned was pumped from the river, which we did not use. The river could not be swum in as it constantly runs very fast. We did make an area in the mangroves to paddle in, so hopefully the next visitors will find. I would say that the allowed vans if full (20) would be far to many for the area mowed to camp on. Not sure if thus is the norm, but we did not speak to the property owner until we were leaving. Overall, close to town, and would stay again, but could be crowded if full numbers of camper booked.

Great location close to Gundagai, easy to find and access. Although a sign on the gate would be helpful. Nice views of the river. Although access was very steep. Reducing the amount of sites in my opinion would be beneficial to make it feel less like a caravan park. Would stay again, however I wouldn’t during peak times if sites aren’t reduced. Lovley host who was very responsive.

Lovely river views, close to town for amenities, nice and quiet in the evening and friendly/responsive host. The river is not easily accessible at all sites so we did need to time some of our trips to swim at the good spots but there was room to share if you were happy to mingle with others. It was very busy when we stayed and i think it would have been beneficial to have a sites limited during peak times.

Too many bookings for space available. Wonder what plan is in place in case of fire. Couldn't find the potable water anywhere. Overall very disappointed.

To start with it was over crowded more expensive than the caravan park in town with views of river and frontage and all Ammenties Can't believe there is 100 acres to camp on unless you camp in the middle of the paddock I will not recommend this camp any of my camping friends Out of 5 star you get .half a star

For a first time camping on the river it was not a bad experience, but too close to other campers. Not alot of access to the water, property access need to be improved due to tight turns for bigger caravans coming off the main road. Overall for what we got the pricing was abit up there.

Had a great 5 nights on the River. Highly recommended. Peaceful, short 5 minutes into town if needed. Swam in the brisky beautiful river. We stayed 27th December to New years Day. So a few campers but still private enough. So much better than a typical caravan park. Must be self contained. Suited is!

A nice spot, but I had no contact from the host and never met him! The information said there is potable water, but there was no water available which was disappointing and not what I expected. Other people staying at the camp weren't impressed by the site either. For the price I paid, I wish I had just stayed at the caravan park in Gundagai. Wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

Thanks Sean, we loved our stopover at your fabulous Hipcamp. Our kids loved going for a walk along the riverbank and falling asleep to the sounds of nature! It’s on our list to stay next time we head to Victoria! We also loved that we could pop into Gundagai to grab a coffee and explore the beautiful town.

My partner and our dog had a great time. We had the cite all to ourselves and it was lovely. Very convenient, close to town. There is phone reception as well. Couldn’t do much kayaking because of the strong current but if there are two of you, you can drive up the river and launch a kayak, then drift downstream. Overall a great experience
