We think it's a miracle from God that we get to live in Sussex Inlet and we are very grateful for our place. We love sharing it with people and helping them reconnect with each other and with nature. Arthur and I are basically bumpkins (unsophisticated or socially awkward persons from the countryside) who love our dogs and love pottering around on our block. We started watching YouTube videos about permaculture and off grid living, in 2008 and moved here in 2017 to start our off grid journey. Our hope was to be able to make enough money to not have to go back to work. We found 2 site offices and a caravan that somebody didn't want and moved them to the site. With no running water, no electricity, no shower and no toilet, life was very interesting, but exciting too. It's amazing how grateful you become, when you have very little. My sister Ruth, asked me if she could put a caravan on our block as a holiday cabin and we agreed. Ruth asked me to go with her to go look at a van and while I was there, I found out that the Suncoast Caravan Park - Ulladulla, was closing down to become an over 55s village and any caravans left over would be destroyed. We picked 10 caravans and transported them here. We decided we were going to set them up in a semi circle so we could have family and friends here and all be together, but still have our own cabin so we could "tap out" when needed. Instead of flattening the area, we decided to work in with the contours of the land and terrace it using the tree trunks that had been left behind by developers in the past. A friend of ours named Brian and my other sister Maria both suggested we do some hosting on AirBnB, so in 2019 we welcomed our first guests and we loved it instantly. Unfortunately we had floods, bush fires, more floods and a pandemic, so we closed down from 2019 to the end of 2020, but we used the time to keep building our dream, build a garden, renovate more vans and do some tinkering with solar power. Our dear friend Noel, had many great childhood memories of visiting Green Patch as a kid and camping there with his parents. He has told us many times that our place reminds him of that happy place and we should set up a place where people can camp and build their own happy memories. So in honour of that and the great Australian Spirit, we are "giving it a go". Like all good things, we are taking it slowly, learning to listen to nature and to our guests, being resourceful, but being respectful of the fact that life is short and we have something uniquely special here. If you book with us, we are very grateful and we hope you have a wonderful time. If you don't, thank you for taking the time to read this and for the opportunity to share part of our journey.

Great campground
The owners are very friendly and comforting. The utilities are very clean. The best part is the location, very close to a surf beach (we had amazing waves!)

Campsite is not safety
The place where we put the tent is the kerbside of a main drive way. It is dangerous as all the vehicles pass through at night and they can cause the accident. Even I put my car to block them, but the noise of car moving on the drive way have waken me up many times at night.

Camp near beautiful National Park
Nice enough spot in the camping area ! Sandy floor, facilities include hot water showers which is always a plus. The community was nice and camping under the big gumtrees is beautiful. The overall campground is work in progress ... :) a different experience to being in a natural national park for sure !

The price for a campsite was way too expensive ($75 per night, even though it was summer school holidays). We booked two nights, stayed one. On the plus side, the host is friendly and has made every effort to setup a good camp. Shower and toilet were immaculately clean. The on-site cabin area is very well presented. On the downside, the campsites felt like we were in the middle of a construction zone. It wasn’t a nice place to camp.

Camping close to jervis bay
The hosts were very accommodating, it was raining so they let us camp under the pergola. The facilities are clean and the dogs are well behaved, so no allergy triggers 😊

Great Place to Stay
Daniela and Arthur’s hosting is impeccable, they are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They have a common area that everyone is welcome to share, should you feel like it (they make nice pizzas) and have a sip of their homemade Limoncello. The showers and toilet are very clean also they are environmentally self-sufficient. They are in the process of developing the area and parts are still being established, but don’t let that put you off. They are extremely dog friendly and our pooch(Bruce the Bluey) enjoyed his time there. We will definitely stay there again and are happy to recommend it to fellow travelers.
