Timberon, New Mexico, is a charming and peaceful retirement community nestled in the scenic Sacramento Mountains on the southern edge of the Lincoln National Forest. Timberon offers a tranquil escape surrounded by natural beauty and abundant outdoor activities. The town features a 9-hole golf course, two fishing ponds, a lodge, a swimming pool, a church, an airstrip, and a volunteer fire department. Visitors can enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including camping, fishing, swimming, golfing, hiking, biking, and ATV/UTV riding areas. During the winter months, the area also offers seasonal activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Cell reception is limited in the town of Timberon but all the local businesses will share their Wi-Fi password. Timberon has a local restaurant Connie's Deli and the High Country Lounge and Grill (Saturday karaoke night 8pm). Timberon Golf & RV campsite is a two acre private campsite with two gravel RV pads. Both pads have 30 amp service, water & waste connections. Timberon is located thirty minutes south of Cloudcroft NM in the Lincoln National Forest. Guest can enjoy many activities in Timberon such as camping, fishing, golfing, hiking, biking, ATV/UTV trails, winter activities, local restaurant and two well equipped stores for groceries and other camping RVing accessories. Cell phone reception is limited in most areas, public WiFi service is available in town and around local business. For additional town information https://timberon.org/

The campsite address is 70 El Dorado Drive, but for accurate navigation, enter 50 El Dorado Drive, Timberon, NM 88350 into any driving app, such as Google Maps. The roads in Timberon are gravel with hills and valleys, but a two-wheel-drive car or truck is sufficient under normal conditions. However, heavy snow may require four-wheel drive or chains. Cell reception is limited, but all local businesses are happy to share their Wi-Fi. For example, the High Country Lounge Wi-Fi password is "buyashot." During the winter months, the main water line is turned off. To restore water, use a pair of pliers to turn the main valve on at the second entrance near the roadway, please turn water back off when leaving. For the best setup, pull in through the first entrance, back into the RV space, and start enjoying everything Timberon has to offer!

Love the remote location! It was peaceful to be the only campers at the time. Children loved playing around and exploring. Dogs also loved the freedom of being unleashed. Very peaceful and relaxing, wish we could have stayed longer!

We really enjoyed the remote location and didn’t see another person the whole time (a plus for me). Beautiful scenery and quiet campsite. Couldn’t ask for more.

This camp site is nice, for the most part. We were pulling a small trailer to sleep in and the ground where our spot was wasn't level. It wasn't too uneven, just a bit off. I'm not sure where the lake is that's shown in the description. I think one is near the golf course but wasn't at our site. The power was very convenient! We didn't use the water. Andrew is also a great host, providing lots of detailed description to get to the site. We are not familiar with the area so I would make sure to have an ATV with you or get instructions for possible trails in the area. There wasn't phone service so we couldn't look those up.

Andrew thanks for sharing your great site. The descriptions, directions, maps, and area information was all spot on. No issues finding the location. Road conditions as you described. Gravel acces roads presented no issues. As you stated, the local general store provided internet/cell phone to check in with family. The drive in/out thru the Lincoln National Forest was amazing. Local deer were curious and visited daily. We Highly recommend this spot to unplug and relax.

The site itself is broad and open. Nice for an RV and camping. To reach it was a little rough. Once you’re about a couple of miles away the road begins really rugged and steep to get to the campsite. If you don’t have 4 wheel drive I don’t recommend it. There is also no cell signal for about 30 minutes before you reach your destination. Nor is there cell signal at the site. This is frustrating and could be dangerous if something were to occur. I did not stay for safety reasons.

The campsite is up the mountain near the golf course. The golf course has a wonderful restaurant, and they willingly share their wifi and allow you to walk along the course. The campsite has a rock base throughout, good lighting, and full hookups. Andrew provided excellent directions.

Water, power and sewer all worked well. Roads to get to the site were very difficult for us to pull our 5,000 lb travel trailer with our 2016 Tahoe. Beautiful area - we saw lots of elk around sundown.

Horrible roads up to site; 28 miles to nearest town for gas. Never saw host. Town of Timburon has 200 residents; all very nice.

Site was easy to get to! Had minimal traffic and was secluded from neighbors. Enjoyed some pizzas and desserts from Connie’s pizza and cafe!

I loved camping here! everyone in the town is super friendly, and it has amazing views! it’s very quiet at night and the night sky is super clear. definitely recommend !

The space is quite lovely. It was peaceful and we saw some deer right next to our trailer. Water, electricity and dump available at our site which was helpful. Timberon is a small community and you won’t find much in terms of things to do, but if you’re looking for peace and quiet that’s your place. Thank you for allowing us stay!

Quiet in the woods

This is quiet spot in the woods near the Lincoln National Forest in the mountains. Many of the roads are gravel, but we were able to manage them with a modest truck. The campsite could potentially feel crowded if the other site was concurrently booked. I booked both spots to ensure peace and quiet. Starlink internet set up was successful. The local folks were very welcoming and friendly. We recommend both High Country Lounge & Grill and Connie’s Deli Restaurant located in Timberon. Both are in walking distance from the campsite.

This is a nicely prepped remote full hookup site. If you want to be really away from it all including cell phone this could be your place. It's deep in the Lincoln National Forest, about an hour from Cloudcroft, down a lovely mother road.

Remote, quiet and peaceful!

Quiet, peaceful setting! Grandkids loved playing in the clubhouse which we had not expected and entertained them for hours. Plenty of firewood on property and fire ring was helpful for keeping us warm and cooking. Enjoyed watching the mule dear pass through several times a day. It’s always nice to have water and electricity on site. No restroom so come prepared. Teardrop camper and tent fit great on one site. Very remote, therefore the night sky was amazing! Andrew was not on property but easy to communicate with. We would recommend this campsite to anyone wanting to enjoy Lincoln National Forest and surrounding area.

Great spot to unplug and get off of a busy schedule. Andrew was very responsive and helpful. Campsite was easy to level on and electrical, water, and sewage worked great. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a spot in the area.

Gravel roads to site are fairly steep in places but we pulled a 30' trailer with just 2 wheel drive and did just fine by going slow. Site is quiet and near golf course. Serene. We had 30 amp service, water and sewer. Very comfortable in late July. The host was available by text or email for questions. We would not hesitate to go back.

Andrew's property is beautiful. Andrew was a great host. He ensured we were comfortable and had all we needed for our stay. There is sewer, water, and electricity. And to come by that in the woods. No cell phone service which I loved. But there is a general store within walking distance with Wi-Fi where you can make a call. Or you can drive 20 minutes to Bug Scuffle Hill that looks out on the White Sands area and get 4G service. Andrew made sure the road to his property was maintained and fixed it better so we could get in and out with ease. Andrew also has a large fire pit on site so the kiddos could roast their marshmallows. All in all we got a RV park experience in the beautiful Timbron woods. Thanks Andrew, we hope to go back!

Great stay! Great accommodations! Hookups worked to perfection and the site was clean and beautiful. The family of deers was just a plus. Will definitely be coming back!!
