Boondocking
peaceful and quiet
This was a perfect spot to stop and stay for a night. As a solo traveler I felt very safe. It was easy to find the camp site based on the instructions provided and the host came out to greet me upon arrival.
The land is beautiful and the sunset/sunrise was stunning. There are places to sit (enough for a group of people) and the horseshoe game would be fun for groups. There is a nice shady ramada area with some picnic tables just a short walk from the camp area.
The camp area is relatively close to the host’s home, but still felt very private and I didn’t see them after the initial greeting, just their small curious dog a few times.
Make sure you read the whole HipCamp listing, as Jeanie mentions - you don’t want to be without your own toilet out there. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other self-contained campers, both solo and groups.

Boondocking
The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and their campsite is super cute and spacious. There is a nice covered pavilion with tables and seating, as well as a fire pit with seating. I felt very safe and would absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful spot with plenty of space
What a beautiful, safe, serene spot! We didn't have much time to enjoy all they had to offer, but it was quiet and a safe place to park for the night. We would definitely stay here again on our travels.

Desert Respite
Enjoyed a desert respite at Star Gazer Ranch! The night brought on quite a windstorm, which surprised us! Stars were lovely and hosts were so friendly and accommodating!

peaceful and friendly oasis
very convenient and quiet stopover, close to I-40, a short drive from ABQ, in an area with very few options for dry camping (no public land). I really appreciate Jeanie opening up her place (and being so welcoming!). For being so close to the city (30 minutes) and the freeway (5 minutes?), it was very peaceful.
It was as advertised: a single site, with a firepit (though not useable at the time due to fry conditions), a work table, a wooden deck (a good spot for a tent), and access to a covered festive pavilion (with a table and a gas grill). Dark, wide open skies — yes! (though ABQ lights glow to the east). The camping area is a dusty patch behind the house, but quite private. Note: no toilet, no power, no water (again, as advertised).. Also, the area is ranch land, so don’t expect pine-fresh mountain air, and do expect flies.
Overall a nice friendly oasis in an otherwise sparse area for welcoming campers.
