Outstanding views of a beautiful world! We missed sunset but woke up for sunrise and were not disappointed. The walk to the outhouse is well lit and the place has great energy. A bumpy ride up to the Mesa is rewarded with peaceful sanctuary!

This camp is just TOO COOL! We drove right to the camp, with no directional issue(s). I would say a daylight arrival made it simpler. The table at the camp needs repair/replacement. The cemetery completes the gifts this camp offers.

The area was well planned. She had an outdoor sofa and the outhouse was as clean as can be . The road in was a little rough. My GPS from HC website to me off course but a very nice in town helped with directions. Met Kim and she was super nice and welcoming.

This was our second time camping on Kim’s land, and we again enjoyed the peaceful vibe, silence and great views from the mesa top, Kim is a welcoming and caring host, and we look forward to returning on our next trip through the area.

Kim has a very special spot here and I’m so glad we were able to stay. Gorgeous view of the canyon and mesa, plus a very special cemetery to explore. I was glad we were driving a high clearance vehicle for the road up from town, so be mindful of that. But Kim was very kind and we hope to be able to return again some time.

The site was nice and great for a tent. The view was beautiful. Our kids enjoyed pretending to perform on the stage nearby. The outhouse is kept well. The tavern downtown is open even during the winter season. The food was very good there.

Great little spot with a view! Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Kim was a friendly host who provided perfect institutions. Highly recommend! Had a wonderful 1 night stay in my rooftop tent with my son and our dog. Peaceful and quiet aside from the wind. Quick overnight retreat from Santa Fe. A+++

We had a great time car camping on Kim’s land! Great sunset and sunrise views as well as an incredibly starry night. Easy to get to with our crosstrek and Kim was very friendly and helpful in getting us set up. Would definitely stay again!

Don't show up after dark...directions were unclear and markers were non existent. Couldn't get ahold of the host so just parked in a random place, slept a couple hours and left without ever even setting up...

Kim was welcoming and kind, and her place was unique and eclectic in all the right ways. So much amazing artwork, both in the cemetery and around the rest of the property. The outhouse was clean and cute, as was the campsite area. And the view from the top of the mesa is unmatched!
Couple of things to mention for future campers:
1. The road up is no joke. I’d recommend a vehicle with some clearance as the minivan did scrape bottom a number of times on the way up and down. Take it very slow and you’ll make it, but be prepared for a journey. (And make sure you grab any supplies before heading up because you are likely not gonna want to drive it any more times than you need to!)
2. There was no cell service between Los Cerillos and Madrid (at least on the AT&T network) so make sure you set your map before you lose service or you’ll find yourself backtracking to the highest point to get a signal so you can map the route, like I had to do. (There was cell service once we reached the top of the mesa/campsite.)

We did not end up staying. The drive in was very rough, no bottoming out, just very rough. It's fine for car or truck bed camping, but I would not drive a camper in here again. We have a slide in truck camper for reference. When we got to the top, there was no indication where to park. Between that and the road, we headed somewhere else. Kim, contacted us the next day and apologized profusely along with refunding our money. All good from our view, just be aware of how you camp.

I love this location. It’s great. It’s up on top of a Mesa with stunning view. Kim is very gracious host. I’ve stayed here before and I’ll stay here again.

Kimmy was such a great host. She guided us to our camp site and gave us tips on our stay. Her two pups were very friendly! Our site overlooked the whole valley with the town of Madrid right behind. Coyotes came out at 3am and 6am like clockwork. It was an amazing stay.

This location is so unique. The views are amazing! It's unique because it feels faraway but the town is only about 15 minutes away. And the views are 360 degrees around! The hosts were nice people and provided some interesting background info on the local area. They have been locals for more than 15 years I believe.

One of our favorite sites. Rode out a thunderstorm with 45mph gusts and our site didn't flood at all (some standing water, but nothing our tent couldnt handle). We hooked an extra night because we love it so much, and now we're hanging out with some locals.

What a peaceful, magical place to camp. The location is beautiful, the host was so kind and helpful, and we felt surrounded by sweet energy. It is one of our very favorite hipcamps so far. We were only there one night, but would have loved to stay longer.

Extremely beautiful views at the top! Go slow going up the rocky road, and you should be good. Kim was very responsive and answered any questions I had about directions. Cemetery v close to the spot but definitely a little NM gem

Great communication from Kim. She has some beautiful camp sites and was an excellent host. Easy directions and very kind as she offered us extra shelter due to rain. Luckily we had enough ourselves but it’s the thought that counts. Would recommend to others.

Privacy with a view. Off the beaten path, but not hard to find. Kim S was super welcoming.
No music on Saturdays at the mineshaft, just down the hill.
