We stayed here during the Balloon Fiesta and unfortunately it didn’t live up to the listing. There is no mountain view from the campsite, it’s simply a mowed grass field surrounded by trees and neighboring properties. The grass isn’t baled or maintained in a walkable way, so when it’s wet you end up slogging through a messy field just to get in and out of your spot.
Communication with the host was extremely poor, which made arrival stressful. There is no clear entrance signage, so we weren’t even sure we were pulling into the right place at first.
The listing says it’s close to the Balloon Fiesta, but it’s over 3 miles from the park, definitely not walking distance, especially in the early morning in the dark like we had hoped.
Overall, this is strictly a place to park and sleep. If that’s all you’re looking for, it works. But don’t expect views, atmosphere, or any kind of host presence or guidance. Just manage your expectations and think of it as a simple overnight spot and nothing more.

Cassandra was very accommodating for our large group. Beautiful property! We all came for the balloon fiesta- biking distance and great location. We could see the balloons from the campsite on our last day. Would definitely stay again.

Just an empty grass lot! When we tried to call the host with a question, there was no answer. They asked us to text, so we did. When we asked if we could arrive early, they said no because they were cutting the grass. When we arrived after check in time, the grass was still over waist height. I asked if they knew it wasn’t actually cut & they said yes it was “partially cut” so that was pretty disappointing, we couldn’t spend any time outside of the camper because the bugs and grass were SO bad in that mud. The location was perfect, but if we had been in a tent instead of a small camper, I would have been miserable. We had the BEST time at the festival, just spent zero time at the campsite as a result. Also nowhere to dump trash bags.

Our experience was awful. We tried to stay for Balloon Fiesta. We arrived at 9pm at night to an overrun grassy field- the field was wet and had been watered that day?! The grass in the field was up to our hips at some points. There was no bathroom on property as listed. And worse of all our 31 foot RV got stuck in the mud! It was completely awful and not as described. No one was around- and the host was unresponsive for 12 hours! Thankfully we were able to pull out at 4am when the ground was hardened from the cool night temps. We then asked for a refund due to the poor conditions and false advertisement and we only received a refund for 1 night. I absolutely do not recommend.

Open field did not see balloons from there it was close drive to the area. Field was muddy and needed grass cut. The outhouse was clean but for $80 it was so overpriced and we were lead to believe it was the last area available. They had 2 other rvs. Will not be taken in again

We actually ended up staying at another one of the owner's locations that was beautiful. We had a big group and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was surrounded by big shade trees and next to a large field of LLamas. It was only about a 15-minute bike ride to the Balloon Fiesta. I would highly recommend this site!

We didn’t end up staying here. We showed up after dark, which made things difficult for us to see and setup. The field is dark and there are very bright porch lights shinning in your face, it makes it really difficult to see, more difficult than if you were in complete darkness. The field was so muddy I almost got my truck stuck. There are huge ruts that made finding a level spot and flat area for tents extremely difficult, unless you wanted to be pressed up to the side with very tall, unmaintained grass. The grass made us afraid for snakes especially in the dark. We found a dryer area of the field (still muddy but better) but it was very close to other campers. After my shoes were caked in mud after walking from the driver door to the back of my car, we looked for other accommodations.
There is nothing wrong with Kassandra posting, she did a great job of describing the field, it was a great location for the balloon fest, we just arrived to late and there must have been a lot of rain recently that made the field really wet. I think if we had showed up when it was light outside, that would have made all the difference for us.

Well worth the price! I felt like it was just the perfect amount of seclusion from the busy areas. Food nearby. My son enjoyed the field. I came prepared lol but thanks for having a porta potty during this week too! Watched Dawn Patrol in the morning on Saturday wish was pretty neat. When I arrived I was a little confused because I was looking for markers on the fence line to divide spots, but there was another camper there when I arrived who said there were none and to pick out a spot anywhere. Everyone was respectful though and there was enough room to spread out. Already considered rebooking for next year but considering your closer sites as well. Many thanks for this offer to families wanting to attend Balloon Fiesta without paying $500 for a roach infested hotel (according to reviews lol)

Perfect for the balloon fiesta! Cassandra was super helpful and the space is great! The field is right next to a bike path which is just a 15 minute bike from the fiesta grounds. there was of room for us and other campers, and everyone was very respectful. Thank you!!

Cassandra went out of her way to help us get setup with a campsite during the balloon festival when everything was completely booked. Unfortunately we broke down in Arizona and couldn’t make it. Host was very understanding and I will definitely try again with her next year.

Overall we had a good experience and liked the proximity to the balloon fiesta fairgrounds. The porta potty was clean and didn’t smell. We had a hard time finding the entrance because the GPS link actually takes you to two different locations depending on if you open it in Apple Maps or in Google Maps. It may be better to just provide the address to the house directly across from the entry gate so that it is easier to find. The highway noise was quite loud, and on top of that there were dogs barking literally the entire night and a chicken coop with a rooster crowing at all hours directly next to the field. It was a well located and affordable place to rest our heads on a busy weekend in ABQ, but it was really noisy.

Nice area to stay in. Very close to the Fiesta and the bike trail is right there to hop onto. Was so easy and quicker then trying to drive in traffic. Fellow campers were very pleasant. Quiet neighborhood but could hear traffic from near by busy streets. Nice view of the sandia mountain from the site through the trees. Porta potty was clean and well placed.

We wanted a location close to the balloon fiesta. It’s a 3.5 mile bike ride, all on bike trails to the fiesta field! The grassy field was fairly quiet, and not very crowded. It was nice to have a porta John! A garbage can would be a welcome addition! I would recommend this hip camp!

I enjoy camping there, open space and trees helped block dust and windy so that’s nice. The bike routes access is convenient and good riding. Would definitely stay again.

The Oasis was a nice place, had privacy and wasn’t as loud. Hard to believe was camping out in Albuquerque, with space and being surrounded with tall green trees. Occasionally city noises but not as bad as thought. I’d stay there again.

Gem of an RV site. Varied grassland surrounded by cottonwood elm oak and mulberry. Site has a wooded backyard feel with no fire pits, concrete or designated lanes for walking or driving to a site. Plus, NO annoying street lights and did not see any cockleburs. Went barefoot sometimes! Birds included hummingbirds. Also gecko and snails.

The property is very nice, beautiful views of the mountains and very private. We had the entire field to ourselves and very much enjoyed our day time activities. Unfortunately, the activity from Paseo del Norte and 4th Street is so loud. Not a big deal during the day, but we did not sleep comfortably in our tents. This area is better suited for a RV with air conditioning because getting to sleep before midnight with windows open was near impossible.

Thank you for clear directions and communication. Some other plans had fallen through for us and camping at Cassandra's place was a lifesaver. Took a short drive to the mall for park n ride to the Fiesta and watched the eclipse right from our camping spot. Saw some balloons flying by in the morning too!

I enjoyed my time here! Stayed for over a week while working on a balloon crew during the fiesta. Was in close proximity to the field and was quiet at night. No other amenities other than a porta potty. Felt safe and the grass field was nice.
