Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
Tucked away on 40 private acres near Eagle Nest, New Mexico, this off-the-beaten-path property offers two RV spots (all to you- no neighbors!) with electric and water hookups (no dump), surrounded by sweeping mountain views and total seclusion. Whether you're passing through on a road trip or looking for a peaceful basecamp for hiking, fishing, or stargazing, this is a place to slow down and breathe.
Our water is sourced fresh from the mountain and is both treated and tested for safety, so you can fill up with confidence. With no close neighbors and wide-open sky, it's an ideal spot for travelers who want quiet, dark skies, and room to spread out.
Eagle Nest sits near Cimarron Canyon State Park, Eagle Nest Lake, and the Enchanted Circle scenic byway — great home base for exploring the Sangre de Cristo mountains, fishing, and high-country hiking.
What's here:
2 RV sites w/ 30/50 amp electric + water hookup (no sewer — nearest dump station info provided at check-in)
Wide open mountain and valley views in every direction
Some of the darkest skies in northern New Mexico — bring a telescope or just lie back and watch the Milky Way
Fire pit access (subject to seasonal fire restrictions — we'll message you if conditions change)
Easy basecamp for the Enchanted Circle: Eagle Nest Lake, Cimarron Canyon, Red River, Angel Fire, and Taos are all a short drive.
Good to know before you book:
We're on Windy Hills Rd for a reason — afternoon wind is common, especially in spring and early summer. Tent campers, plan accordingly; RVers should be comfortable with gusty conditions.
Summer afternoons can bring fast-moving thunderstorms, typical of high mountain weather. Nights get cold even in July, so pack layers.
At 8,200 ft, give yourself a little time to acclimate — take it easy and stay hydrated your first day.
Elk and black bear pass through the property — please store food securely.
The road in is unpaved; high clearance recommended, especially after rain or snow.
We respond fast and love helping guests plan their Enchanted Circle days — just ask. Come stretch out, breathe the mountain air, and let the sky do the entertaining.
