The Rustic Retreat is nestled the Heart of Alton Bay and the Lakes Region in New Hampshire. We are one hour from Hampton Beach and 3 minutes to Alton Bay Beach and boat launch to Winnipasauki. Other close attractions include Mount Major 15 minutes away and Gunstock Ski and Adventure Resort 20 minutes away. We offer an intimate 90 square feet Knotty Nook cabin in a wooded section of our land of 2 acres. It is a quiet comfortable country setting only 45 minutes to the White Mountains. We provide water, a futon, a porta potty and a propane grill. The site has availability for your own tent space and parking for 2 vehicles. We can also accommodate boat and trailer parking for an additional fee.Come enjoy this rustic simple Bobhouse positioned in complete privacy in the woods. We originally built it to enjoy Ice Fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee and it won First prize for Best Bobhouse on Alton Bay. We received so many great reviews that we thought we should share it with others.
The Rustic Retreat is nestled in the woods , one mile from this amazing lake of 45,000 acres in the breathtaking, all Natural beauty of the Lakes Region in New Hampshire. It lays at the end of a sprawling path on a Retired Gentleman’s Farm. This location has to offer the picturesque White Mountains, including the Magnificent Mount Washington, only an hour away. Mount Major and Gunstock Ski and Adventure park less than 20 minutes away. Or maybe you would enjoy the nightlife of popular Hampton Beach. Also only 1 hour away from the serenity of the Rustic Retreat.
We love spending time in Alton Bay which is a 3 minute drive from our location. Boating, skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing , leaf peeping, hiking, motorcycle riding or exploring our amazing Live Free or Die State! All is accessible from our 90 square foot rustic lair. It is humble with character and personality. Stay in the Bobhouse on a comfortable Futon or bring your own tent and set it up just beyond. Just bring your own bedding!
The Bobhouse is equipped with a solar panel with interior lighting and a USB outlet to charge your phone. We provide a porta potty and an outside simple kitchen sink with running cold water. Sorry no hot water or shower. Large boulder fire pit and 2 close parking spaces are foot steps from the cabin. Firewood and boat trailer parking available on site at additional cost. Come enjoy all that our beautiful New England community has to offer! Simple but Majestic!
