Streeter Mountain Farm is a recreation destination and permaculture farm nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We offer a variety of lodging options ranging in cost from tent camping and shared bunk rooms to private indoor lofts, tiny homes, and school buses. Streeter Mountain is a retreat destination for mountain biking, skiing, and hiking. Our onsite trails feature hand and machine-built features for riders of all skill levels. Under an hour of driving will get you to Mt. Moosilauke on the Appalachian Trail, renowned climbing at the Rumney Crags, and dozens of pristine NH lakes. Back on the farm, our swimming holes, hammocks, and communal fire pit offer peace and community connection after a full day of outdoor adventures. Guests are encouraged to recreate and restore amidst the natural beauty of our rural property, and explore our orchards and vegetable gardens. In summer, nearby fields are fruiting with apples, elderberries, and wildflowers. This house was constructed in 2023 built entirely with upcycled materials. The walking trail to the house is approximately 200 meters from the parking lot. We do have carts for guests to borrow if you need to transport items from your car to the house. Depending on the season, there may be mud or snow conditions en route. HEAT FOR THE elderberry HOUSE IS GENERATED BY WOODFIRE. FIREWOOD IS PROVIDED BUT GUEST IS IN CHARGE OF MAINTAINING FIRE. Great camp ground! We weren’t able to get in until late because of traffic in the city, but they accommodated us and still helped us find our site at 9:30pm. Very responsive, lovely site. Didn’t get a chance to explore the grounds but such a lovely area to be and staff was great. Overall recommend and would come back!

A friendly environment that's perfect for unplugging. The lighthouse is a small room with a bed. There are no amenities but the views and the solitude are amazing. There a super firmly cat, named Lynx. Bring treats and love for him.

Rustic charm, kindness was missing
Lighthouse Treehouse @ Streeter Mtn
We stayed one night in the “Treehouse” (also called the Lighthouse) and arrived after dark in heavy rain. We were the only guests that night. The younger host who greeted us was kind but clearly new, while the older host seemed irritated by our questions and our presence. We hadn’t realized the Treehouse had no power, heat, or lighting—something we both simply missed online —and instead of showing empathy or flexibility (especially with other spaces vacant), the host insisted on proving us wrong by taking us to the computer where he'd had his back to us earlier, and showing us the website. Fees for bedding, towels, cold showers (by the minute), and even use of the propane stove per person made the experience feel nickel-and-dimed. The Treehouse sat several hundred yards down a wet uneven, forked trail. When we asked for help finding it, the host walked quickly ahead in the rain, out of sight, as we struggled to follow pulling a (complementary tho rickety old) cart in the dark. The Treehouse itself is creatively built from repurposed materials. We were grateful to finally be dry. But unscreened gaps between walls and roof let in insects, and we could hardly wait to leave. In the morning, when we tried to make coffee in the main kitchen with our own small stove, we were scolded, & told to go use a nice wet picnic table outside. We value off-grid rustic stays, but kindness and empathy are free. Add these & maybe even complementary coffee, this property could be truly special.

The hosts are very kind and accomodating but we came on a weekend that was very busy and the bathroom was largely unavailable with huge wait lines for both and it was very smelly. We were not able to shower or go to the bathroom that morning. The Monday after it was very quiet and peaceful with much less people.

I was only here for a night but I immediately felt so welcome. The main house is open all the time and has wifi, a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchen. The property is huge and has walking trails directly connected to it. Super kind and chill host, made sure I had everything I needed.

Blue Bus @ Streeter Mountain Farm
My partner and I tent camp so we thought we'd change pace and try glamping and book the blue bus. I'll start by saying the listing is vaguely worded, I wish I knew that my campsite (most expensive one I think) did not have a firepit and fires were ONLY allowed in the communal pits that were far from the campsite. We also couldn't park @ the campsite and had to drag everything. Even with a cart provided I didn't enjoy lugging all of our stuff back and forth, especially for cooking. Not relaxing with all of your stuff and a 70 lb cooler going uphill. The blue bus was advertised as being the most private but on several occasions we found strangers hanging around our campsite, and the trail many people were walking were in plain view of it. It says dogs are allowed but they aren't allowed in the main building, where you will be using the bathroom, washing dishes, collecting water, and showering (which was insanely expensive, we chose to stink instead), so where is my dog supposed to go while that's happening? Owner seems more concerned for the feral cats roaming the property, just don't allow dogs then... $248 for 2 nights in the blue bus campsite for 3 people, added a 4th to the reservation and it was $160 to make the change, bringing the total to $408. For 2 nights. That's a lot to pay for not being able to have a fire @ my campsite and for my dog being forced to stay outside. Spoke to others and they seemed to have more privacy for a fraction of the price. Not going back ever.

Sweet spot. Super easy communication w/the hosts. We just needed a quick place for a one night campsite. Would love to go back and check it out further. Great fire pit. Incredible star gazing.

Cool hippie farm treehouse!
Lighthouse Treehouse @ Streeter Mtn
I loved staying in the treehouse! Very cute and spacious. The staff was really nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the communal area, used their grill (chimney starter provided, yay!) There was also a really friendly tabby kitty that kept hanging around us which made me super happy. Just some things to note for other people to be prepared, since the treehouse is not insulated it can get noisy. It was windy our first night, with things falling on the metal roof and metal staircase is creaky so bring earplugs. It's a little drafty. We didn't have any issue with mosquitoes though. The roof overhangs a lot in front of the doorway, so tall people beware! They do provide carts to bring your stuff but it is all downhill to the treehouse (to varying degrees) and sometimes rocky so it's still not the easiest task, not to mention going back up so be mindful of how much you're packing! If I were to do it over I'd pack less and carry the weight in my backpack. Still, I would not hesitate to go back! Hopefully for longer next time. I imagine it would be pretty in the fall with the leaves changing all around 😊

Fairy land
Family Room @ Streeter Farm
I always enjoy my time at this farm. Last year we did a tent platform which was great and this year we chose to stay in the Family Room upstairs. I knew it would possibly equal more noise since there’s 3 or 4 other rooms up there, however I love the building. Each room is crafted beautifully. It was nice and cool with all the windows open. We woke with the rooster as a natural alarm clock. I miss the restaurant with its yummy meals but we’ll continue to come back :) Streeter Mountain Farm has a lot to offer!
