Discover the charm of Riddle Hill Homestead, an enchanting retreat located on 24 picturesque acres in the heart of the Smith River Valley. Our property is bordered by the Manfeltree Brook and Smith River, offering a serene escape with a variety of campsites to choose from. Whether you prefer the shade of the woods, an open meadow, or the tranquility of the marsh(bring boots!), we have the perfect spot for you. Indulge in our farm-fresh eggs and delicious baked goods, available on-site. Our small, honor-system camp store is stocked with those essential items you might forget while camping. Don’t miss our delightful cookie shop by the road, offering an array of treats, water bottles, and novelty ice creams. On weekends, you may encounter local artists showcasing their crafts, and if you're lucky, you might catch Michelle, one of the owners, demonstrating her glass lampwork skills live. We mentioned farm fresh eggs, we have about 20 hens working hard at laying those eggs for us. You will hear their laying ‘song’ throughout the day with an occasional crow from the rooster. Our location is ideal—just a quick walk to the town beach and the Northern Rail Trail, with hiking, mountains, and lakes close at hand. Plus, Ruggles Mine has reopened and is nearby! If you’re a rockhounding enthusiast, you might appreciate the convenience of camping directly at the mine, making your mineral-hunting adventures even easier. Reach out to Ruggles directly about their camping options! Upon your arrival, we’ll provide you with a curated list of our favorite local spots to explore. Join us at Riddle Hill Homestead for an unforgettable getaway!Overnight Adventurer is our first of several campsites.
