We camped here for my husband’s birthday with friends and it was a perfect group site. We really enjoyed ourselves for a long weekend. We didn’t see another soul around at all and got a bunch of wood at the Old-Man’s consignment shop that kept us warm even in Nov!

2 hours after our refund window closed - 3 days before the trip - the host informed me that there was a fire ban in effect. Upon looking into this, I saw the ban had been issues about 2 weeks prior. The host did not communicate this or update their page until past the point at which my group would be able to cancel for a refund. When I told the host my group couldn't do evenings below 40 degrees without a campfire to congregate around and see by, she told me that I didn't understand what camping was. She was not willing to issue me any refund and never really responded to why she let me know about this massive change only after our refund window closed.
My group had camped here the year prior and there were communication issues then, too. After that weekend, she offered me a free return trip. I didn't take her up on that offer this year because I figured she and her family deserve the business and we liked the spot enough to return. When I brought up the original offer of a free trip when trying to negotiate my deserving a refund this year, she ignored that, too.
The space is private and beautiful, and I wish my group could have returned again this year.

The tent site was amazing. Great space and flat ground, very private. Awesome fire pit, deck and chairs, (plus an outbouse) hosts are great people and made sure everything was as expected.

We loved Barbara’s land! We had a group of 13 and a pup and the site was very comfortable, well set up and beautiful! The outhouse is quite small and was uncomfortable even for our smaller guests to use. Other than that we have no complaints and can’t wait to come again!

Beautifully situated at the far end of Lost Cloud farm in rural New Hampshire... surrounded on three sides by pine-scented forest... very well maintained... generously stocked with utensils and provisions (like a camp stove!)... and perfectly private: Those are some of the words that come to mind when I think about Barbara's Magical Nights camp site. It was raining when we arrived, the kind of rain that would normally put a damper on our plan for a 3-night camp out, but things began to look up when we discovered that Barbara had thoughtfully provided a sturdy steel-frame canopy to cover the dining area picnic table -- which was already set with dinner service for four! We sheltered there until the rain let up, set up our tent, and then settled in for a lovely stay which included trips to nearby Newport NH (a 12-minute drive from the campsite; don't miss the "Breaking Bread" restaurant -- delicious breakfasts and super friendly service), the Sugar River Recreational Trail (great for hiking and biking), and the Kancamagus Scenic Byway in the breathtaking White Mountain National Forest (about 75 minutes north of the campsite). Barbara has blessed the camping world with Magical Nights. We recommend it without reservation.

We had an amazing time staying at this campsite, and the host was very helpful and friendly. We had a ton of space and privacy, without having to drive too far from civilization! The space was beautiful, private, and convenient. We stayed here with our 1 year old, and were able to get through our first family camping trip without worrying about disturbing a campground full of other people if he ended up having a hard time adjusting (luckily that wasn't the case!). I highly recommend booking a camping trip here, and we'll definitely be visiting again!
