Learn more about this land: Large enough for 4 tents or one RV (25ft or smaller). Porta potty provided. Hose for water. No electric provided, generators allowed. Easy access to beautiful Chapman Pond (100 yards away), which is stocked with Trout and also home to Bass, Crappie and Perch. Great place to fish or just relax! The use of two kayaks and firewood available at no extra charge. (IF using the kayaks, they are to be brought back to the campsite and NOT left at the pond. If they are left at the pond and stolen, campers will be responsible for the replacement cost, which is about $600.) Lots of wildlife (loons, turtles, geese, deer, bear etc). You're free to explore the land and trails that go part way around the pond to the "Big Rock" and beyond. Info at the campsite for other nearby hikes and activities. We allow public access to the "Grassy Area", however larger camper groups that book this site have full access and are welcome to setup tents there, but no fires are allowed on the grass.. only in designated fire pit. (FOR THOSE WITH A TOW BEHIND CAMPER, you will want to drive to the pond boat landing at the end of Chapman Pond Rd, turn around, head back towards the campsite and BACK IN.) FOR THOSE WITH DOGS, we love dogs, we have our own. For everyone's safety and well-being we ask that you please keep them with you and under your control at all times. We have a farm nearby and want no casualties because of a loose dog. Also, our 90 lb APBT is very friendly but not to every dog he meets. SMOKERS, we allow smoking at the site but please dispose of your butts properly and help keep our property beautiful. All around beautiful and peaceful campsite. City of Keene is 15 minutes away. We do charge a $20 PET FEE per dog. 2 dogs allowed max. SMOKERS, we allow smoking at the site but please dispose of your butts properly and help keep our property beautiful. SWIMMING - while you can swim off from the Big Rock (my husband does) it is at your own risk and expect leeches if you touch the muck. We leave a list of very nearby places that are just as beautiful and great for swimming. Chapman is definitely more of a fishing pond. WATER HOSE - we provide a hose. The water is for putting out fires, washing hands and dishes. Since it is from a hose, we don't suggest drinking it. There is a natural spring in nearby Gilsum NH (5minute drive) for those who want to refill drinking containers for free. PARKING - You may park at the site, across the road, next to trash can area, the field before the campsite or down towards the pond. There is enough parking for utility trailers if needed. All around beautiful and peaceful campsite. City of Keene is 15 minutes away. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS BEAR COUNTRY AND THERE ARE SEVERAL BEARS IN THE AREA. https://youtube.com/channel/UCoPJ6TlbIuexRgtwb3VsLHQ

Super Quiet Campsite
16 ft car
I car camped there and it is soooo quiet! I didn't hear a crow, blue jay, nothing. Did not see a squirrel, chipmunk nothing. I accidentally left my small trash bag out overnight. Nothing touched it! The pond is super clean and the resident beaver made it clear I was not wanted while I sipped my coffee watching the sun come up. I would definitely go again. I, however, did not have cell coverage in the site. I had to drive up the road to text home I had arrived. I did hear a Bard Owl late which I love.

Great camping trip!
We had a lovely time here. The camping area is really open which I loved, and there are still shady areas over the picnic table and where we put our hammock. There’s a path leading down to the pond (just a 2 minute walk) with really pretty views. Kathleen and Kevin had a bin with camping essentials and games. I like that we could drive right up to the site. There is another campsite down the path but we couldn’t see or hear them. The site is far enough away from Kathleen and Kevin’s house but you definitely get a wake up call from the chickens! There’s a swimming pond a 10 minute drive away which was beautiful. Overall our stay was peaceful and fun and we would definitely come back!

We loved the pond! It a really almost like having a private pond, and the 2 free kayaks make it even better. We had been looking for a pond/lake were we could also take our dog, so this was perfect. The campsite itself is not directly on the pond, but it did not turn out to be an issue, as it is only a couple minutes away and we spent most of the time in the grassy area near the pond anyway.

Tent
I tent camped here and it was a perfect getaway for a rustic yet homey type of a feeling. I brought all that I would need but supplies were handy if needed, they really tend your needs if you have any. Porta potty on site and having a hose nearby to wash up or dishes was perfect. Take a stroll to the water, it’s a beautiful natural scene. The site was perfectly clean and the fire pit was great to cook on and relax the night away. This camp area was just what I needed.
