A unique glamping getaway nestled on a mountainside, near Evans Notch in North Chatham, NH. We have three 10x12 glamping tents tucked away in the forest behind our home. Private and tranquil, each tent has a queen sized bed, with flannel sheets, front porch with 2 Adirondack chairs, 2 camp blankets, a fire pit, picnic table, and the basic cook wear and utensils for meals over a campfire. Follow the camp path to our wooded sanctuary, sleep among the trees, and unwind! Private walking trail on the property! Lots of local hiking, swimming holes, and scenic drives! 5 minutes to Evans Notch, NH 30 minutes to North Conway, NH 20 minutes to Fryeburg, ME 25 minutes to Bethel, ME

Silver Birch is out first pitch-a-tent-site! Tucked away at the back of our camp among silver birch, pines, and maple trees- this is a beautiful spot for you to pitch your tent. South-facing, peaceful and quiet, with a little peek through the trees of the distant mountains. This site has a fire pit, 2 Aidrondak charis, trash bin, a picnic table with cabinet that is stocked with a cast-iron pan, plates and silverware, cups, mugs and a saucepan for boiling water! THERE IS NO TENT HERE- YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN!! We also have a beautiful, clean outhouse nearby, as well as garden wagons for you to bring your gear to the site. Parking is in my driveway. It is a short walk to the site. In winter we are SNOWMOBILE and SNOWSHOE access ONLY! There is a place at the bottom of the hill for trailers, and the snowmobile corridor is a couple hundred feet away! You can sled right out to your tent! We have on-site wedding officiant who offers elopement services year-round, with advanced notice. As well as an option to rent all 4 of our sites (the whole campground!) for a private wedding, retreat, or family adventure! Catch up with the constellations with a perfect view of the night sky from the fire pit! Unplug and unwind at this peaceful mountainside getaway. Close to hiking, biking, climbing and swimming in Evan’s Notch. About a third of a mile walk from the parking spot through our maple grove to get there, tucked inside a beautiful 5 acre wooded lot- Stargazer is our most-loved site. Placed among beech, birch, and maple trees- this site is on the downhill side of the camping area. Private views of the forest and night sky! Lounge on the porch and search for shooting stars, or get up early for a glimpse of the sunrise through the trees! There is a clean and spacious outhouse nearby! Campsite amenities include: -A picnic table, fire pit, camp chairs, and basic cooking supplies- cast iron skillet, tea kettle, grilling utensils, oven mitt, plates, utensils and cups, and a French press! -Adirondack chairs -Two cotton lap blankets -Your queen-sized bed is made with a freshly laundered set of flannel sheets and a light comforter -We also provide garden wagons to help transport your gear : ) We are dog-friendly as long as your dog is well behaved. We have our own pup as well as two cats that may be out in the yard. Please give a heads up if you plan to bring your furry family member. In winter we are SNOWMOBILE and SNOWSHOE access ONLY! Sunny days and starry nights! This site gets lots of warm sunshine! This is our "family" site- sleeps 4 comfortably with a queen sized bunk bed. Retreat to our harmonious mountainside haven to unplug and unwind from your daily grind. About a third of a mile walk through our maple grove to get there, tucked inside a beautiful 5 acre wooded lot. In its own sunny spot across the camp path, Sunnyside is a little oasis in the trees! Facing southeast for a glimpse of the sunrise through the trees, Sunnyside also boasts a grand view of the night sky! Close to the path that leads you out into the one mile walking/biking loop. There is a clean and spacious outhouse nearby! Campsite amenities include: -A picnic table, fire pit, camp chairs, and basic cooking supplies- cast iron skillet, tea kettle, grilling utensils, oven mitt, plates, utensils and cups, and a French press! -Adirondack chairs -Two cotton lap blankets -Your queen-sized bunk bed is made with a freshly laundered set of flannel sheets and a light comforter, 2 pillows -We also provide garden wagons to help transport your gear : ) Our driveway is a half-mile uphill dirt road that is quite steep in some spots! This is why we strongly suggest 4wd- it is part of the adventure : ) No worries if you don’t have it, just drive carefully! Please reach out if you have questions. Peaceful forest retreat nestled among the trees- unplug and unwind at our unique mountaintop getaway! Beautiful views of the stars through the trees… wake to birdsong, wander down the path to the yard for sunrise, and enjoy nothing but the day ahead. Switchback is the closest site to the parking area- but its still about a third of a mile walk through our maple grove to get there. Tucked just inside a 5 acre wooded lot, it sits back among maple trees and young hemlock, neatly placed adjacent to the corner of an historic stone wall. There is a clean and spacious outhouse nearby! I loved camping on Lori's land. All the glamping tents are very private, and you have to walk about 100 yards from the car, so there is no noise at all. The outhouse was super clean and so cool inside. The bed in the tent was very comfortable and had enough room for the dog as well. The land is beautiful with North Conway only a 30 min drive for great food and coffee! I highly recommend this Hip Camp!

We had a lovely stay at the Stargazer! It was so peaceful, quiet, and cozy. Lori sent helpful and clear directions ahead of time on how to get to the site. The tent kept us nice and warm during a cool fall night and the outdoor space was beautiful!

Peaceful and gorgeous forest camping! Lori was great at communicating directions, etc. and the campsite felt tucked away with nice touches like picnic table, high counter for cooking, comfy chairs and camp ring. Really nicely done trails and out house on the property too. Great access for any outdoor adventures around Evans Notch!

This was a great campsite! Close to the hikes in White Mountain yet enough away from the crowd. The tent setup and beds are cozy, there are a lot of supplies to use, and as everyone says but worth repeating this is the nicest and cleanest outhouse I've seen. Unfortunately I was only here for a brief stay as I was just passing through, but would love to come back for a longer time.

I could not be happier with our stay at Butter Hill! The Stargazer had AMAZING views. Everything you need to have a camp cookout is supplied by Lori! That was a huge plus. Outhouse was so clean and well kept. Can’t wait to be back.

We highly recommend Lori's Butterhill for an outdoor getaway! It was so nice to be able to take my boys camping without packing and setting up all the gear. Everything was clean, aesthetic, and homey. We rented the propane heater and cracked the tent windows a little for ventilation. It was so cozy overnight! No more freezing cold camping nights. I especially loved the french press so I could enjoy a hot cup of coffee around our morning campfire. Lori couldn't be more friendly. The whole experience went so well that we're already planning to come back! It's worth every penny! Thanks Lori!

Absolutely loved this stay so much! Went for my annual trip up to NH for my birthday, and this was the best one yet by far!! The site was incredible, perfectly secluded but still easy enough to get to with close proximity to the lovely kept bathroom. The bed was super comfy, with extra blankets to cozy up with. We were greeted by the hosts beautiful and super smiley pups in the morning which really just topped it all off for me. 10/10 will absolutely be back!!

Loris camp was very peaceful & quiet! There are 3 sites in a circle so it’s not entirely private but definitely spaced out enough! The bedding was super comfy & the site was perfect and exactly what we needed! The dogs loved it.

We loved our stay on Lori’s property! The pictures really don’t do how beautiful it is justice. The wood chip covered paths were a hit with my toddler who had a blast exploring. What you have likely read in other reviews about the outhouse is true they are superbly clean and well decorated. Lori was so friendly and kind- we loved everything about our stay! We will definitely be back!

You get all the benefits of camping in a remote area without all the lugging/packing/planning. The bed was super comfortable, the outhouse was so well done- we loved the whole experience. Great Spot – Clean, Quiet, and Scenic! Had a great time at Butterhill Hideaway! The campsite was easy to find, and the bathrooms were a pleasant surprise—very clean and well-maintained. The site itself is peaceful and nicely spaced out. Just a heads-up: you’ll definitely want a vehicle with 4-wheel drive and good ground clearance to get in comfortably. Overall, a solid camping experience—I’d definitely recommend it to friends!

My husband, furbaby, and I loved having our first camping trip in a few years at Butter Hill Hideaway! The Stargazer site was a great experience, private and secluded as if we were the only ones around but only about a 5 minute walk to the car. The path to the site was a bit more "rustic" than I anticipated, but even with a bad knee, it was totally manageable. Lori was a wonderful host and I'd definitely return and recommend her in the future!!

Lori is a great Host. Her property is located in a BEAUTIFUL spot. The camps are set up perfectly with everything you need. Tents high quality (kept us warm) on a chilly night. We loved our stay at Stargazer site of Buttergill Hideaway. The site had all the facilities you need for camping and is dog friendly. The tent was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. The outhouse was very clean and well maintained. Make sure to follow Lori's instructions on finding the camp.

We had an amazing stay at this site for one night. The tents were in excellent condition and perfectly located, offering both comfort and privacy. Inside, there was plenty of space, with a queen bed complete with bedding including a comforter, sheets, and pillows. Two additional chairs inside the tent added extra comfort, and outside, there were two large picnic chairs perfect for relaxing. The fresh flowers and a scented candle were thoughtful touches that created a warm, inviting ambience. The picnic table was fully stocked with all the essentials needed for cooking, making meal prep simple and enjoyable. The fire pit area was set up with seating for four, creating a cozy spot to unwind in the evening. The bathroom facilities were spotless, odorless, and very well maintained - kudos to Lori for keeping them in such excellent condition. We also appreciated the clear navigation instructions. We followed them exactly and arrived at the right spot without any confusion. Overall, it was a peaceful and well-equipped campsite with thoughtful amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it for anyone seeking a relaxing and memorable getaway.

Lori's place was an awesome glamping site in midst if national forest yet with all the amenities. Lori was super responsive in her communication and helped us with whatever way she could. The bathroom needs a special mention. It was very nice and clean and was aesthetically decorated. I will be recommending Lori's place to my friends.

It was adorable, and both luxurious and chic yet rustic and enough of a hideaway. Lori was super helpful on finding this little piece of seclusion and very nice. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for a short little glamping trip. The bathrooms were basically little libraries, extremely cute, and having all the necessities. Thanks for a lovely trip! We will be sharing it with others :)

Butter Hill Hideaway is inviting and a wonderful place to take some time to look enjoy the stars, away from light pollution, and relax by a camp fire. It's my go-to when visiting my kids at summer camp. The tents & outhouse are clean and well kept, and Lori is a lovely host. I've stayed a few times already, and will definitely be back again.

Lori was very friendly and had great suggestions for nearby attractions. Her two dogs are super sweet too! The campsite was tucked back on the property which gave it a great remote feel while only being a few minutes walk from our car. The outhouse was adorable. I’ve never seen one that is decorated before! We will definitely be back!

It was a beautiful place! The tent and bed were cozy and clean. It’s a quick drive to many stunning locations. The restroom was clean. Lori was very kind! The only suggestion would be to have a tiny bit more lighting at the Stargazer site. There was a lantern, cookware, and stunning views. I suggest it to anyone who wants to have a peaceful getaway <3 Thank you for having us!
