Learn more about this land: Remote desert area with dry lake bed and rolling plateaus and Vistas. Mountain views in all directions and the sky is absolutely 3D at night. Bring your telescope if you have one. But even with the naked eye you can get lost in how many stars there are. Shooting stars, satellites, all kinds of astrological phenomenon. If you like seclusion quiet and a night sky that's better than a planetarium you'll love this place. Bring your RVs ATVs and whatever you need. There's one hundred and sixty acres to roam around on with 40 acres of flat dry lake bed. 4800 feet in elevation even though we're in the valley. Low humidity. We have a 40° swing from day to night so if it's 90° during the day, it'll be 50° at night. Amazing sunrises and sunsets.Remote desert area with dry lake bed and rolling plateaus and Vistas. Great spot, marked sites would help

This is a nice spot with lots of space and privacy. The directions could be a bit better. The GPS location works, but Google Maps will take you the long way and the gate that direction says the same thing so a bit confusing. Definitely watch for the power poles. I think it would help if the directions said something like, "ignore your GPS as you get close and instead turn about 100 yards or so before the power poles." There are also a bunch of dogs. They were quiet during the day but barked a lot at night. We didn't know where to park and ended up stopping about 200 yards from the home. The ground is covered with fragile desert lichen or similar that you think maybe you shouldn't drive on. I think it would really help if the host would identify several dispersed spots far enough apart and away from the house to not be bothered by the dogs.

I really can’t review the location as I was never confident that I was at the correct location. I used James’s GPS coordinates but my route took me along a different path than James’s written directions. So I followed his directions and at the sixth utility pole the road turned right. However there wasn’t a sign and no visible sideways “J”s. I did find a homestead and waited for a bit, but no one came out. There weren’t any clear site markings. Concerned that I might be on someone else’s property, I left. Also I had a question about the booking that James never responded to.

Rugged but beautiful!
Group trip
The entry road is right under the power line, make sure you have 4x4 especially if it has been wet. No designated camp area, just find a good area between the bushes near the coordinates. Beautiful area alone under the stars miles from civilization!

Private Moon-like Camping in Nevada
Incredible remote spot perfect for halfway point camping between Wyoming/Utah/Idaho and California. Requires driving on dirt road for 2 miles. Would recommend good vehicle but for the record I did it in a Hyundai 2wheel drive sedan. And make sure to actually stop at the power poles to turn in, not past there (otherwise it’s 4 miles on dirt road which we did). J is a welcoming host and waited until we arrived just after dark. Truly moon-like camping spot with a 3D sky. Very secluded, quiet and comfortable for tent camping. Just very dusty remember since it’s a dry lake bed but that’s part of the adventure!

James was great! Super nice and quick at communicating once you had a question. We got a little bit lost trying to find the gate, but soon realized the gate was under the big power poles. It’s just a little over a three mile drive once we past the barbed wire gate. The stars were amazing, worth the effort driving out :)
