Site 5 - Herzog Homestead
We are traveling through and needed a place to crash for the night and Lynn's place was perfect. It was just off the highway, which made it easy to get on and off. The view of the mountains was amazing, especially as the sun was setting. There is noise from the highway and the train, but if you are not picky about that, which we weren't, this place is ideal for a one night stop/rest.

It was very convenient for our cross country road trip, but two of the five camp sites are not labeled and if you have a tent the only place to set it up is on the road. I suggest replacing the missing signs and making some sand pads for tents.

Chill enough spot right off the highway. Super convenient for passing through. Noise from the highway is a thing but with earplugs in I slept like a baby.

I had a great stay! The directions on Hipcamp are super easy to follow and there is a sign for Herzog Hipcamp, which was comforting as I knew I was in the right place. The mountain view was beautiful and I was able to watch a lovely sunrise. Also easy access to I-80 if you’re traveling! Would recommend!

Meh
The host needs to up his game! 1. Make sure the campsite are numbered 2. Make sure there is actually a porta potty if one is promised 3. Clear a space for tents, make sure there's no fire ant nests in the site We ended up camping on the dead-end dirt road that goes by the sites - wherever they were was unclear. This location is honestly more well suited to an RV than to tent campers. The freeway noise is atrocious and then every couple hours there's a train blowing it's horn so sleep was slim. Nothing the host can do about that of course.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to spend the night at Herzog Homestead due to our plans changing but the communication with the host was excellent! Very quick responses and she answered all of our questions in a timely manner!
