Welcome to Woody's Basecamp, typically reserved for our tribe of wild firefighters and 1st responders, to put our cheese back on our crackers, between dispatches fighting wildfires and disasters. This is our refuge from the hurricanes that chase us, called Trauma and her cousins, Chaos and Turmoil. In memory of Hurricane Rachael. Our Dirty Secret, we survive the impossible, saving other, only to die by our own hand.......sad stats, but true. Worse yet, we can lose our careers if we seek help. This place started as a garden, Woody planted, to ground himself again, it kept growing into what it is now, because of a vision for healing. Woody carved out a mountainside, and created more gardens, where folks can come, ground and plant some good seeds through good times, camping with family and friends, open to the public. Super chill and tranquil with a great location, lake out front, hiking out back. A quiet spot, carved out of the base of a mountain. It's walking distance to the Somers Beach and Boat Launch. Blacktail Mountain is next door, Hot Springs, Glacier NP, down the road. There's plenty to do on the lake, in the mountains, or in the towns nearby. Go burn some energy and come back here to ground and re-charge. If you love quaint little towns, you'll love Somers. It offers a post office, café, bar/restaurant, hardware/lumber store, a museum, mansion and a yacht club. Culture, history and beauty here. If you love beaches, the Somers Beach is a great spot with a swimming area and place to launch paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and rafts from. There are spots tucked away next to the shoreline, among the pines, that are super sweet for picnics, or hanging out, whilst the kiddos frolic in the water. The Somers State Park is a part of a Waterfowl Preserve. It's outside of town and pretty secluded. It has a very nice sandy beach and is in a shallow cove. Likewise, it's shallow for a long ways out, so there is no boating traffic here. Perfect for SUP's, kayaker s, kids and dogs. If you love to sail, The North Flathead Yacht Club is a great place to meet locals and hitch a ride on a sailboat For whooping it up! Del's Bar is a great place. Lakeside and Big Fork offer even more, a short drive away. We even have gemstones, a roller coaster and Flathead tours.

Very shaded site, tucked away in the trees on a raised pad, surrounded by boulders. There is room for 1 tent here, on a flat, 12x12 semi-private camping area, near the entrance. This is a great spot for someone who is coming and going at all hours, and doesn't want to disturb their neighbors at 4am. It's also a great spot for those who are sensitive to the sun, or heat. This is the coolest spot at Woody's during the heat of the day. Plenty of hiking trails out your back door with amazing views. Drydocked Cabin Cruiser

Quirky · Sleeps 6
Are you a lake lover looking to explore the Flathead on your SUP or Kayak, or maybe you love fishing, swimming, sailing, or plain ole exploring all that the Flathead has to offer and just need a sweet home-base for a few days? How about a Tiny House on wheels, that also floats? Compact comfort, with a twist, Drydocked or Slippery? Drydocked means using the boat like an RV on dry land whilst your busy exploring. You can stay Drydccked, during this time, saving money. When your ready to convert to your waterfront floating Tiny House, you book your time Slippery and we’ll make it happen. When you return, you’ll be afloat, for the days you booked Slippery. Slippery means we’ll launch it on Flathead Lake, for you and properly anchor the boat in Somers Bay, behind the islands where its well sheltered near the North Flathead Yacht Club, some houseboats and Somers Beach. You can use the boat as your home-base on the water, at anchor. You are not allowed to operate the boat, without one of our Captains onboard, only sleep on it, for liability reasons. Flathead Lake is a massive lake, the weather can change fast and it can get very rough out there in a storm. Your safe and sheltered in the Bay. Below you’ll find a small galley with a sink, stove and icebox. There is a berth in the bow for two adults, comfortably. The mattress is thin, and we don’t provided bedding, you’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags, pillows and inflatable mattress, if needed. A Bluetooth sound system is next to the bed. There’s a porta-potty and sink in the head. A portable solar shower for bathing. A swim platform with a ladder is mounted on the transom, for swimming. A LPG grill mounted on the rail, for cooking and grilling. The cockpit is fully enclose-able. There is a table with seating for 4 which converts into a bed. There are two seats in the aft of the boat, which can be converted into another sleeping area. Two adults, comfortably, or 4 kids in the cockpit area. Somers State park is a great place to explore with personal water craft and swim. Town is walking distance away, where you’ll find a bar and café, post office, hardware/lumber store, mansion, museum and an historical trail which is an old railway spur, which you can ride your bike to Kalispell and points beyond.

Drydocked means using the boat like an RV on dry land whilst you're busy exploring. You can stay Drydccked, during this time, saving money. When you're ready to convert to your waterfront floating Tiny House, you book your time Slippery, and we’ll make it happen. When you return, you’ll be afloat, for the days you booked, Slippery. You can use the boat as your home-base on the water, at anchor. You are not allowed to operate the boat, without one of our Captains onboard, only sleep on it, for liability reasons. Flathead Lake is a massive lake, the weather can change fast, and it can get very rough out there in a storm. You're safe and sheltered in the Bay. Woody's Grand Teton Triple Slider.

Booked 1 time
Vintage trailer · Sleeps 4
Built in WY. In its day, Teton Homes was the top of the line. This Grand Teton actually was in some movies where various famous folks stayed, whist filming. We traded, the owner of the Picture Car Company in Hollywood, a Terra-Torch (flamethrower) for it. They needed to make lots of fire, we needed a coach, so here we are. You'll be sleeping with the stars! If you are into that sort of thing. Woody was dispatched to Katrina and needed a decent place to live, as everything had been flooded, which is how and why we have it now. Parked on gravel, next to the shop, with power and water, you're tucked away in a quiet spot in Spike Camp. The Teton is set up with a master bedroom with slide-out, queen size bed & dressing table, and bathroom, The living room has a couch that pulls out into a double bed. Double slide-outs in this area, so it's quite spacious. The kitchen dining area has a double fridge, stove with oven, microwave and sink. All in raised oak panels. Very well insulated with the Arctic Package. Double roof mounted AC units keep it cool. LPG Heat and hot water.

Woody's Love Shack

Booked 3 times
Cabin · Sleeps 6
Welcome to our Love Shack. We call it that, because that's what this place is all about, love and healing. A very special place, for special people. Those seeking to ground, in nature, in a place that naturally flows in a way, that's not easy to find. It's a simple cabin, overlooking a lake, overlooked by mountains, Osprey and Eagles. A haven of heaven, on earth. In a world, gone bizzerk'd. If you are looking to escape, ground, heal, explore, have some fun, or just chill, this might be what you're looking for. The cabin sits up on a hill overlooking the shop and property out back, the lake out front, separated from that activity. RVs are on the gravel, Tipi's and tents on the lawn. There's a separate driveway that goes up the hill to the cabin, near the greenhouse and wood-fired sauna. (under construction) You can also park out front in your own private parking area, right off Boon Rd. There's a covered porch out the front that overlooks the fire-pit and lake. It has a swinging love seat for two here. There is an adjacent sundeck with another swinging chair. A spa is around the corner in a private area, outside the master bedroom, with lake view. The hillside has been transformed into a herb and flower garden with fruit trees. There is a footpath with steps carved in up the hill that leads to further hiking adventures, not far away. This is Woody's garden, It's where he likes to ground. The sound of flowing water, reminds him of the Yaak, where he's from. Inside you will find a warm wood feeling as the interior is all knotty pine, open floorplan, with 12' ceilings and 6 opening skylights. The large living room offers a woodfired cookstove, with glass on 3 sides of the firebox and lake view. French doors open onto the deck, with a Webber grill. The kitchen dining area is at the rear and open to the living room. A rear entry door that leads outback to the greenhouse and compost pile. There is an LPG oven/smoker here, for slower cooking and smoking foods like fish and chicken. 12 person wood fired sauna inside the shed, (in the works). There is a bathroom with a shower next to the kitchen. The Bunkhouse is adjacent to it in the "West Wing". It has bunk beds for 4. In the East Wing you'll find the master bed/bath and laundry. Great drinking water!
