We live on 10 acres of mixed forest and field. In the summer we have an active blacksmithing school and flower farm here. The idea of a sustainable, self reliant lifestyle has always been part of our life and passing it down to others is a joy for us. We sustainably manage our food and forest to be the best stewards we can for our environment and our neighbors. Our Cabin and structures were built primarily of materials that were recycled or milled on site. which makes them warm and inviting. The Cabin is located close to our shop which houses an active blacksmithing school in the summer months where the rest of the structures are separate and in an area tucked away on the edge of the woods. Jeffrey and Betsy work to make your stay as welcoming as possible. We maintain a small orchard of fruit trees, a garden which feeds us year round and a small flower farm on the property. Avid skiers, bikers, paddlers and hikers, offering the property for others to enjoy was a conscious decision made when planning all of our infrastructure. Come and enjoy all the beautiful Flathead Valley has to offer.

If you've been on the Appalachian Trail you have seen structures like these. Jeffrey Grew up exploring the Appalachians and decided a shelter out of the sun and weather made sense. All hewn here on the property, even the hardware was made on site, hand laid rock floors these are tucked into the woods to give you a landing spot out of the way to rest your weary bones. If you're a cyclist needing to dry out, or a camper wanting an extra layer of security these are just the ticket! Have a warm solar shower at the end of your day and hunker down for a good night's sleep.

Pull up and unload into our airstream camping trailer. Redone with a marmoleum floor and retro colors you'll feel cozy and comfortable at the edge of the wood. In the morning, sit out and watch the sun rise over the Swan range and nestle in in the evening as the sun sets to the west. You can cook your food, take a shower in the solar shower and share stories with your companions as you come down after a day of adventures in Glacier National Park or the surrounding area. Or grab a bottle of wine and go to the lake to enjoy the sunset over the western range before you return to hunker down.

Pull in to our property and unload at our queen bed, wood floored tipi. Floors hand hewn on the property, poles hand stripped and a comfortable queen sized bed make you feel welcome to stay a while. Towels, bedding, a mosquito net, a chest for your items to be safe while you adventure will secure a comfortable stay. After your adventures, shower in the solar shower with LOADS of hot water, sit back and enjoy the sunset over the swan range. You are near to all the Flathead has to offer. Hiking in Glacier National Park, Flathead national Forest, Flathead Lake, the "Wild Mile" whitewater action, canoeing and bicycle routes makes this and ideal spot to unwind.

This is beautiful place. It is very peaceful and quite. The facilities are great. I really loved the solar shower! Every evening and morning you can see deer grazing and browsing . It also dark at night for those that like to star gaze! I would certainly camp here again.

We had such a wonderful experience there! The communal kitchen was excellent and we got to meet all the students attending Jeffs Blacksmithing school. Jeff let us take a look at the school and it was very impressive. My 12 year old was allowed into the flower garden where we saw hummingbirds. He was attracted back there a few times so Betsy put him to work helping with preparation for farmers market. We were also allowed to check out the farm equipment and old trucks which my son loved! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Really pretty location. The kitchen area is really nice. You can cook pretty much anything you want. The owners are friendly. Slightly open, slightly wooded, depends on the site.

Beautiful area, within easy striking distance of so many lakes, rivers, mountains and hikes. Outdoor (covered) kitchen is fully equipped so meals picnic lunches don't cost a bundle. Solar shower never ran out of hot water.

This place is beautiful. We came to visit Glacier, and fell in love with Bigfork. The teepee was very comfortable and nearby solar shower and outdoor kitchen were lovely. We also enjoyed meeting some of the artisan students who were staying on the land during the weeklong blacksmithing course. This place is special!

Great location, super nice hosts. Sites were well placed, facilities clean and well maintained - outdoor solar shower was very nice, didn’t need to try wood fired back but other did, spot on. Looking forward to a return visit.

The layout of the camping village was communal yet still made for privacy. The half tucked further into the woods offered shade on hotter days. The place had an artsy, woodsy feel to it. Pretty views of the mtns to the east.

Artisan's Airstream
A lovely property with great views and a unique atmosphere. I probably had more interactions with the owners than typical taking a class at the shop on-site, and they are equally lovely people. The airstream itself is a fine trailer, with the quirks that come with older trailers and vehicles. A fair warning: my cell service ceased being useful once I was to the trailer, and in the middle and back of it the service completely cut out. The owners relayed to me that cell service in general doesn’t work great there, so if you’re looking to be nearly as disconnected as you can while being close to a town with better data access it would be great. The actual site didn’t end up working out for me personally, (I didn’t really come prepared to be unplugged by myself for a week) but the owners were more than happy to work with me and get me into an unoccupied site on the property for my stay.

I stayed in their Catalina camper. Functional clean and very pleasant. Ina beautiful spot with views of mountains all around. Rural but close to Bigfork and Kalispell to get stuff you need and restuarants

My wife and I had an amazing stay! All the amenities one could hope for were provided at wild iron. Betsy was a wonderful host. You can tell that her and her husband put all their heart and souls into their property. Will be coming again!

I loved it here! I camped in a tent and absolutely loved everything. Betsy was the best host and such a pleasure, the scenery was gorgeous, and it was fairly secluded. Betsy was super thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed and showed us where everything was! Would recommend 100%! Also will definitely be staying again
