Stay on the edge of a working family farm (Dragon's Breath Farm) and the surrounding National Forest where the human world enmeshes with the wilds! The farm sits on 17 acres (with only 1 acre in production) with a 1906 log cabin. The small Silver Butte Fisher River runs just off the edge of the field and is the home to trout, moose, beavers, bald eagles, mink, elk, kingfishers, ravens, deer, and the occasional bear, lion, or wolf pack. We are between the towns of Libby and Kalispell, each known for limitless outdoor activities including hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, skiing, climbing, paddling, foraging, & riding. There are surrounding lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, and limited cell phone coverage. This is the place you come to to disconnect to reconnect. To yourself. To the forest. To the rivers. To the wildlife. To the Land. To something lost but not forgotten. With few neighbors, the property is quiet except for birdsong and elk calls. We are only a mile off the highway and rarely hear a passing truck. If the season is right, we can even offer a selection of fresh produce grown right in this field or take part in one of our foraging classes and learn to find food from the wilds. Whether you are passing through and just need a safe space for the night or want to stay awhile and immerse yourself in the land and location, you've found the right place.Tucked away behind tall pine trees you can park or tent camp on level ground only a few feet from the small river. Enjoy the privacy of this site across the field from the farm with National Forest on the other side of the river. Feel free to collect crisp mountain water from the river to filter or boil and enjoy our Plein Air Potty (composting toilet) complete with reading material about the local area and bear spray, just in case :) Disconnect to Reconnect! There is no cell service outside our wifi so you can enjoy the quiet away from constant notifications and listen to bird songs instead of tweets, but walk to the wifi bench (with shade) in the field to check in while unplugging.

We pulled our T@B into this beautiful riverside site. There was a picnic table and privacy. We never met or saw the host. It was quiet and tranquil. Easy in and easy out. The road has some washboard but no potholes. Great place!!

Sweet, simple retreat by a river

We camped for one night here in our 13' RV on our way home. We wished we stayed longer. The single spot was well identified and quite away from the house. The simple outhouse was clean and not smelly. There's a small bench set up near the river, as well asba hammock. We saw deer in the morning and evening. Very peaceful and beautiful.

Awesome private space by the river, outhouse with a Mountain View and friendly hosts. No cell service but if you go to a special bench you get wifi.

I loved car camping from Megan’s land! It was a perfectly placed spot where you had privacy but also felt safe. The river access was so nice and listening to it was so calming. The restroom/outhouse was super cute and clean and has the best mountain views!!

A beautiful and special little spot. I enjoyed the evening wildlife parade as I listened to the little creek in the background and watched the sunset. Elk and deer were everywhere.

Loved having this serene site all to myself. Well marked. Relaxing sound of the creek and friendly visits from the deer was a nice touch. Cool outhouse, nice and clean too.

This site was perfect for me and my dogs to spend the night on our cross country trip. I felt very safe and it was quiet enough for me to get a peaceful rest. I really like the location and I wish I had more time to explore. The deer were very cool.
