It was a terrible camp site. Only 2 sites were in the "campground", one of them being under a bridge. When I pulled up I have no clue where I was, there was a gate that said private property and was clearly bocking off the area. Along with that, there was a box container all beat up and was spray painted orange with security cameras on it. It didn't look or even remotely feel like a camp site. Felt like I just slept under a bridge... for $32

I was very excited to stay here as the proximity to the highway, water and the historic bridge was appealing. However, after getting there I was so uncomfortable I left almost immediately. First, the directions to the campground are not clear and contradictory to fish and wildlife signs stating no camping. The campground is at a dead end with a parking lot type dirt road. There is a small Hipcamp sign on the gate but the gate is not green as said in directions. I was really nervous to trespass on the wrong property, especially after dark. Upon arrival, the gate only swings inwards so to leave you need to get out of your car and physically open it. As a female camper who is often solo, that was a huge red flag. After pulling in, there was a shipping container with a window in the back and three easily seen cameras on top of it. One pointing at the gate, one at the bathroom/another site and one at my site. There was not mention the cameras in the listing. This was my third red flag and everything in my gut told me to leave. I understand at the gate but pointing to the site is a big invasion of the assumed privacy one has while camping. I mentioned to the host (who did refund my stay) and they said it was from people trying to break into the shipping container and that they can’t see that far into the site. The sites are very close together, i could clearly see the cameras from multiple angles. I would not recommend this place to any female, solo, or family campers.

Super handy for kayaking. Great spot to stay. Bring earplugs as the highway trucks can be noisy at night. Plenty of room to spread out.

The site was perfect for us and our dogs traveling with us. They loved the freedom to sniff and explore. The trail to the sandy beach was a nice stroll. The train traffic was light, and hwy noise was not really a problem. It was nice to have a picnic table, and plenty of space to put our chairs.
The gate is not really green anymore, but it’s the only gate, so we figured it out. The old hwy bridge has a spectacular view of the gorge. Nice spot for the night.

Very good access to Alberton Gorge. Pretty small site if all 3 locations were full, but a cool spot anyway. Definitely road and train noise but it did not keep us awake at all. Great access to the sandy beach.

Loved the unique spot here- in the trees, near the river with a trail down to it, the light on the cliffs in the morning- beautiful! My husband had a hard time sleeping with some train and traffic noise, and I slept great. If you’re a super light sleeper, this may not be your top pick. It was, however, a beautiful place to wake up to after a Missoula concert, when headed back to Washington in the morning :)

Such a unique stop! Passing by these elaborate cliffs off the highway had me giddy, so to my excitement when I turned off and had a cozy spot for the eve right next to them I was stoked! Parked under an old railroad in ear shot of another in service, as well as the highway. However the location and uniqueness to this site made it tolerable. A short hike down to the river (Sandy Beach) with a few spots to choose from was lovely. Public access so may not be private. Clean porta potty was a nice perk. Also right by a parking area for those that want to explore a bridge over the Clark Fork River by foot- great way to spend the morning with coffee, deer, birds and the sound of the rushing river.

Booked this campsite last minute after finding out other state park campsites were full and I am so glad we found this place!!! It’s such a hidden gem- outstanding views overlooking old railway bridge over the clark fork, and a walking bridge as well woth great views! The sandy beach is a short little walk (5 mins seriously) and the views were stunning, seriously. The little beach was perfect, it offered privacy, great place to relax & swim, plus it was fun to watch all the rafters/kayakers! Plenty of space it explore the woods & river. You do hear some highway noise, but it was tolerable and didn’t disrupt sleep or activities. You also hear the train, but I enjoyed it! Although it says no campfires, we messaged the host for permission and we were able to start one which was awesome too, the hosts were very kind and quick to respond. Super cool little spot and I’d totally recommend and come back!

It was a nice campsite! As a kayaker this is the perfect location for camping if you want to paddle the Gorge. It's at the put in for the lower gorge. Thr bathroom was clean. The downsides are you can’t do a campfire and there is highway noise along with trains. Overall I liked the campsite though.

Classic Camp spot if you love to river surf or kayak!!
Bring ear plugs for road & train noise .
But other than that it's awesome!!🤙

Super cool spot! Confusing to find tho. Go check out sandy beach if you stay! Highway noise at night was a little bothersome in my opinion. Would recommend overall tho 😊

Great spot fairly close to Missoula. Beautiful scenery with a short hike down to the river. Very close to the highway but traffic noise wasn't a major issue.

This place is awesome! There is an amazing beach just a short walk down- really a hidden gem. I went for a bike ride into the Fish Creek State Park area and didn’t see a car or a person for 4 hours. The site itself has some shade, is big, nice picnic table. I can’t wait to travel this area again to stay here. Thank you Kirsten and Mateu.

Precipice Camp
This little campsite was awesome!! You are literally camping on the top of a cliff but still have so much space for a vehicle, tent, table and chairs or even a smaller/ medium sized camper. There was a lot of trails that led down on the mountain side towards the water and even had a sandy beach. You could walk on the trail from your campsite or drive over the the entrance if you wanted to bring some things with you. Not to mention the shade was lovely, your right underneath an abandoned bridge and it even had trails to explore that as well. The hosts even had an emergency shipping crate turned into a little room in case of heavy thunderstorms. We also were only 45 minutes away from Missoula which also was very lovely. I would definitely recommend this campsite if you and your spouse or even a couple buddies wanted to escape for a little while! Definitely worth it

Site was great. Tucked into the trees. Train and freeway traffic was not an issue at all. We highly recommend a morning cup of coffee on the bridge overlooking the Clark Fork. It was a gel we are glad we found.

The site was exactly as advertised, a small site under an old train trestle next to interstate 90 with close access to a public sandy riverfront beach. I'm a heavy sleeper so the interstate noise was not an issue for me and the riverfront access was perfect for cooling off in the heat of summer. I was not aware of the surfing opportunities on the Clark but it seems like there is access to a river swell nearby... might have to make a trip back to catch some wake 🤙

I thought this camp site was awesome. We had a Jeep Cherokee with a RTT and it was great. Yes there is a little freeway background noise but not bad at all. The porta potty was super clean. The hike to the beach was ennis and well worth it. The scenery of the river and from the bridge was outstanding. My son and I had a great time for the night.
