We are located in a beautiful valley in rural Montana. The property borders millions of acres national forest on three sides. We have magnificent spring water, a creek, pastures, gardens and forest. There is an incredible diverse habitat home to many animals and plants. Come enjoy this peaceful place and experience a night in a Sioux style tipi. The tipi site is a five minute walk from the main house, garden and chicken coop. It's located at a crossroad between the forest, the creek and the open meadow with an epic view to the east and the surrounding mountains. You have exclusive access to the tipi, outhouse, picnic table and fire pit. there are several flat spaces to pitch another tent if needed. Firewood is available for purchase.
The tipi can probably fit four people comfortably.
In the spring and early summer the creek is still flowing near the campsite, later in the season you can access it from a different point on the property. This allows for year round ice cold creek swimming.
There is a maintained road going up into the mountains giving you access to the countless activities this bioregion offers. From birdwatching, hunting, fishing, foraging, hiking, or just enjoying the outdoors... Twelve miles up this road there is a lookout tower open in the summer with spectacular views of the region. There is a special grove of old growth cedars and hemlock trees less than an hour drive from the tipi.
During the summer we have a vegetable stand at the end of our driveway with seasonal offerings of fruit and veggies from our garden.
