Learn more about this land: High on Downing mountain overlooking the Bitterroot Valley, river, and town of Hamilton is a pristine mountain camp close to wildlife and forest service lands. You will be surrounded by breathtaking beauty, wildlife, native forests, and an incredible view. Come prepared for cool mountain nights and a peaceful private experience. Your host will escort you to up the private road, 20 minutes from town, to you exclusive spot and provide a camp potty and firewood for your use. You should be self-contained for other needs unless you want to drive into town to experience the wonderful restaurants and entertainments. Elevation above 5000 feet.

    Crazy Diamonds Camp and Glamp
    Carmen was an excellent host. She was easy to communicate with ahead of time and was very helpful during our trip. She gave us a tour of the space (picnic table, portable toilet, tent space, water spigots) and even brought out coffee in the morning. The location is central and the Safeway nearby was good for restocking snacks. There are lots of restaurants and breweries in the area, too. Very quiet at night. We would definitely stay here again when in Hamilton!

    Crazy Diamonds Camp and Glamp
    Carmen is super nice and laid back. If you’re just looking for a place to pitch a tent that’s near town this is a good option. There isn’t a bathroom, and Carmen supplies a honey bucket, but there is also a Safeway nearby and a 24 hour gas station about .5 miles away so we ended up using those for the most part. It gets the job done if you’re looking for a place to lay your head and Carmen is cool and offered us coffee in the morning.
