Amazing new campsites: 2 directly on the banks of NW Montana's famous Blue Ribbon trout stream - the Kootenai River. And 4 campsites in the peaceful forest nearby. All with private access and unobstructed views up and down the river, Yaak Mountain, and the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness. Catch wild rainbow, cutthroat, bull trout, and whitefish only steps from your spot. This stretch of the river has over 4,000 trout per mile and over 900 ft of private fishing with many more miles of stream access up and down the river. Launch your drift boat or pontoon for an easy 6 mile float to the Yaak River pullout. Rides may be available to ferry. We respectfully request catch and release fishing only with artificial lures and flies in order to preserve this precious wild resource. Easy access to many thousand acres of public land for hunting, hiking, fishing, exploring and sightseeing including the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness Area. Whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, moose, lions, grizzly, wolf, and black bear viewing almost daily depending on the season. We see more animals within 10 miles here than the last few times we visited Yellowstone or Glacier Parks! Very basic amenities in a rustic peaceful setting: * 2 water only hookup spots on the river * 4 dry camping areas in the forest * Pets on a leash OK * Please refrain from loud music and generators * There is a waste dump site within 1 mile Access via a 200 yd driveway and 100 yd walk to the river spots. Follow the orange arrows to the river campsites and riverbank trail. Enjoy one of Montana's finest rivers !

Private camping on the banks of the amazing Kootenai River fly fishing gem. Within 30 feet of the river; mountain and river views. Water hookups. Please see pics for access map. Park along the road (but not past the gate posts and horse pasture (its not ours) and follow the provided routing pic. Walk about 100 yds to camp in one of 4 spots near 2 water spigots of your choosing. Private fishing and miles of downstream riverside access (via the high water marks and Montana stream access law). There may be up to 3 other groups camping along the road, but your spots are premium on the banks of the river. Please manage your waste activities :)

Forestland camping with private access to the amazing Kootenai River flyfishing gem. Undeveloped forest land along the 200 yd gravel access road. Please see pics for access map. Park along the road and camp in your small RV or in a tent location of your choosing, but not past the gate posts or horse pasture (its not ours). Follow the orange arrows on a short 150 yd walk to private fishing and miles of downstream riverside access via the high water marks and Montana stream access law. Please note, this is undeveloped camping (we are working on improvements to be completed soon). There may be up to 3 other groups camping along the road. Turning around may be difficult for trailers. Please take care to manage your waste activities :)

Host was very communicative regarding his site. Upon arrival I walked the route per his suggestion-unfortunately there were some branches that were too low for my rig. I messaged him and he refunded without issue. He appreciated the feedback and will look at removing the low branches. A beautiful site on the water-Hope to return in the future!

Great spot. Very quiet and right next to the river. I enjoyed the quiet and the stars while getting in some great fishing. Was pretty easy to find but got confused at the end. Took me a second to realize you have to drive through the field. Otherwise a great spot. I’ll be back

While I commend Patrick & his wife for their attempts to be good communicators - especially since Patrick was in Japan at the time of our visit - we were not comfortable staying at this site due to the challenges with the access. It was not clear where we should enter the campsite and we were guided through their edge of their field which had many large rocks that could be damaging to vehicles that sit low to the ground - like ours. We chose not to stay. The actual campsite was a level gravel drive and did have access to the river - but the incline to the river would not have allowed us to set up chairs or enjoy a meal river side. Please be aware that cellular service (at least Verizon) drops once you enter the property - which made follow up communications with the hosts difficult.
