Tucked away on the Yellowstone river. The campground is beautiful and there was a lot of peace and quiet (and some fishing a 5 minute walk away)!

Chill spot 30min from Yellowstone

My husband and I really enjoyed this site! It was exactly what we needed for our weekend in Yellowstone. A place to pitch a tent with access to a bathroom. The river was beautiful, and there were little foot trails leading down the river to a bank where we found all sorts of track. The woman in the office was very nice and super chill. Good vibes all around. The only downside is you are close to the road and can hear the cats drive by, but it's not the busiest road.

We loved being so close to the river for fishing!! And so close to Yellowstone! However, for what we paid the grounds and facilities weren’t quite up to the expectation we had or from previous reviews. When we arrived there was a lot of food and trash left on the ground. The shower had not been cleaned and used dirty towels were piled in a corner in the bathroom/shower room. If we had paid less, we honestly would not have cared. We have camped a lot and typically have low standards. This was different since it was higher cost. When we told the host about the trash, she did come down and clean it up and apologized!! Mixed feelings overall.

We love this spot. Great views, quiet and close to everything. We floated the Yellowstone 2 days, spent a day in Gardiner, Soaked ate YHS, dinner at Chico, and concert at Old Saloon. Marjorie was one site at check in and super helpful and accommodating!!!!!

Dispersed camping right on the river. We found a nice, shady spot. The host was really great, even offered us a citronella candle for the mosquitoes! We would definitely stay again.

I showed up just after dark, which I knew was going to be tough, but honestly I parked my car for car camping in a random spot hoping I didn’t park anyone in or be an inconvenience to anyone else! I had weirdly only found one fire ring while driving around but there were much more on the stretch along the lake. Future campers: Drive straight between the two main buildings, find the sign down the big hill towards the campground, make almost a 180 degree turn at the bottom and you’ll find most of the sites there :)

Site 4: Golden Eagle Point

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to stay at such a beautiful Hipcamp location and for the host's kindness in accepting my last-minute booking and allowing me to check in at 8:05 pm. However, I left feeling extremely disappointed with certain aspects of the experience. While the host gave an introduction over the phone when I arrived, it was so dark outside that I couldn’t make sense of the directions, and despite calling back twice, I was unable to get any additional guidance. I understand it was very late and also early on a Sunday when I called again, but without clearer instructions, I ended up wandering the property, feeling like I was trespassing, just trying to find basic amenities like the bathroom. Every door I tried was locked, and without any signage or detailed instructions, it made what could have been a wonderful experience quite frustrating. To top it off, I lost my Apple Watch during my stay, though I was lucky to retrieve it the next day. While I truly appreciate the host’s flexibility, clearer communication and better organization would have significantly improved my stay.

Our experience was fine. We came when it was dark. There wasn’t proper lighting. Sites weren’t numbered. It looked like a disheveled piece of property. No real driveways. The bathroom was a bonus (but hard to find at first). Property looked like it was abandoned and work started and never finished. The host however was sweet and helpful. I know she mentioned they were new to Hip Camp, so I want to give Grace there. The full hook ups and price was good. I believe once they finish the property it would be a great place to camp. I would go back, but definitely not in the dark.

Nice Camping- a Work in Progress

Site 4: Golden Eagle Point

This is a really beautiful site, but not at all fancy. It is a work in progress (no sites are numbered and the electricity is from extension cords) but it is steps from a beautiful river that was pristine and uncrowded. They have put up some nice twinkle lights around the campground which warms in up nicely. There is a cannabis shop on site which, depending on your preferences, could be good or bad. Marjorie was helpful and responsive in checking us in. We had a nice stay there.

A cute little campground next to the Yellowstone River, with restrooms and a shower a short walk up a hill. Marjorie greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again if I ever go to Yellowstone another time!

Odd and confusing experience

I called the owner before 6pm to let her know we’d be showing up after 8pm per campground rules and she said that was fine and to call once we arrived so she could show us to our spot. We arrived at about 9pm and I called multiple times and even left a couple messages, no answer or callback. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting we decided to go find an empty spot to park since there are no markings to indicate which campsite is which. After parking we tried to go find a bathroom or outhouse. We stumbled around in the dark, checking around the buildings to look for any bathrooms signs or guest info, but there was nothing. Eventually we came across a guy who claimed to work there who tried to help us find a way into main building. He took us from door to door and tried entering different codes in each door we came across but none of the codes were right so we couldn’t get in. We gave up after an hour and just went to bed. The next morning we went up to the main building to try our luck with finding a bathroom again, and luckily found a door that was ajar. We looked around a bit and found bathrooms finally, but no signs of anyone in the building. It was creepy, some lights were on like someone had been there, but it was dead silent and we didn’t see anyone all morning. We would have been better off just parking at a rest stop or something, someplace with toilet access at least. Waste of nearly $60, the view was not worth it. Strongly advise against staying here!

The place has possibilities. The sites are close to the Yellowstone and it is quiet and natural. Things are not clearly marked at the camp sites but an onsite host would help that fact and we were camping mid-September and arrived at night. Host was very helpful to get us parked and hooked up after hours via phone. The bathrooms/showers were also not well marked and the host or anyone in the office was unreachable . Cleanliness fair again out of season but could have used TLC. Nice clean towels available and again the facility has great possibilities. Close proximity to Yellowstone and a beautiful area.

The location of the camp was great! We loved waking up on the Yellowstone river. It was a little confusing pulling up to the site because none of it is marked. I thought I booked a specific spot online, but in reality it was choose what is left. I didn’t get the lot I thought I had booked. In addition, the bathrooms were also a bit confusing as well. Nothing was labeled and it seemed hard to locate without contacting the host. She seemed very sweet and was helpful/responded quickly!! Overall, it was a decent experience and would come here again, but I would like for it to be a little more organized.

Great place along the yellowstone river. Has a bathroom and shower that is well maintained. Easy booking and attentive host. Less than an hour from the north entrance to yellowstone. No signage showing which site is which, we just picked an open one, if you’re showing up after hours confused where to go, looking at the reviews, this is the answer, just pick an open spot. There’s also a dispensary at the top.

Camping at 7 point was a beautiful experience! Marjorie and Chris were great hosts and super helpful with anything we needed! The campsite was quiet, majestic and in a perfect area of Montana. Bald eagles fly right over the river there too!
