We enjoyed our stay! Came during off-season, so it was super quiet. They have a couple of trails to hike and their horses to see. Our three year old really loved it!

Great place! Lots of sites available (especially since we were the only ones). The bathhouse was great! So nice for it to be heated since it was under 20° out! The hosts handled a confusion in the reservation readily and easily.

Brandy's place is lovely! I arrived during a cold snap, so I huddled indoors mostly, but I did take a scroll on the beautiful property. It's super tucked away and private but still safe. The bathrooms and showers are clean and warm. And Brandy was super accommodating. A note - cell phone is spotty out there but I was able to both text and talk in case of emergency :) But really, it's a great place to unplug. I hope to explore again when it's warmer!

This camp is beautifully laid out and the outbuildings are a plus. A heated and air-conditioned shower house is something we hadn’t seen before plus it was impeccable and decorated to fit the theme of the camp. I was disappointed that they no longer have horses available to ride but that was the only negative. It would be a fun place for a wedding!

Very nice camping area. We had campsite #31 in the way back near the Cow pastures. We arrived early in the spring, so had the place to ourselves. A bit noisy at night dur to a barking dog from 12a.m. to morning. Loved the horse walking trail to the river. Heated and clean bathroom/shower house. Very nice host. No horses there when we stayed.

Beautiful looking rounds it was cold in the off-season so I really didn’t explore much but all the facilities were top-notch and my state was very peaceful

Excellent place to relax, do nothing and just equestrian folks and there beautiful horses. Very, very peaceful and homey. We dont havw horses, but thatnus okay, it was still an awesome experience.

It was great! 10/10 My family only camped in a tent, but they have adorable cabins and lots of room for horse trailers. The land is beautiful and so peaceful. Plenty of room in the bathrooms. Everyone was friendly! My family went camping to avoid the fair while it was in town. They have trails and a cute little creek that runs through the property. They are adding new things to do.

This is a great property. Traveling from the east on I-70, we originally planned on just an overnight in a parking lot when the reality of a 90 degree humid Missouri prompted us to look for an affordable 30a hookup for a night. The hookup was 15a, 30a, and 50a all in the same pedestal. From the east it was about 40 miles off I-70. Had we planed earlier, I think we could have reduced our drive time using US-50. We departed for the west on US-50 and preferred it to I-70. The property is well thought out. Pull through site 11 on gravel was within 2" of level side to side and an easy setup for the night. The bathhouse is such a treat. Air conditioned to reduce humidity, clean, and large. It felt amazing to have an indulgent shower after doing so many miles. Communication with Brandy was fantastic. The property is well maintained and pride shows. We were just about the only ones and enjoyed a silent, air conditioned night.

I stayed for one night on my XC road trip. Had the place all to myself. It's mostly set up for RVs, I was in a tent, so there wasn't any shade though that wasn't a problem during my stay cuz it was cloudy and rainy. Bullfrogs sang me to sleep. Had a really nice conversation with Brandy and she shared all the many cool things she's doing.

My stay on the von holten ranch was so relaxing. In fact I didn't want to leave I was so rested and at peace. The owners Brandy and David were very kind and fun to talk to. I'm super inspired by their family business and wish them much succes. I'd absolutely come back and I highly recommended staying on the ranch.

What a great place! Brandy is so amazing and her husband is absolutely great! We will definitely be staying here again. Relaxing atmosphere. Shower/bathhouse is wonderful! Sights and sounds of horses abound.

Our family had a great visit. We are not horse riders, but we still enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed hiking the trails. The heated bathrooms and shower house were clean and much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this campsite, especially for horse owners!

We cannot say enough positive things about Von Holten Ranch. We have two smaller children (3 and 4) and they could have stayed for days. We were able to wander by the creek, see the horses and cows, go on two separate horseback (and mule back!) rides, play at our campsite, and enjoy some local ice cream at the ranch office. Brandy was truly an incredible host - she made sure our kids had the full country experience and even allowed them to help her with the daily work around the property, such as feeding the horses. This will be a trip we will never forget! We will absolutely be back.

I came to camp at the ranch with the kids because they had hot showers. We met Mrs Brandy and she introduced my children David and Sarah to all the Horses. It was one of the most adorable thing to see them riding all the horses and feeding them apples.
The kids loved the ice cream, everything was super affordable. Mrs Brandy spent 3 hours taking tangles out of Sarah’s hair. You do not want to miss this place. Get the small cabins or bring a tent, you can also bring an RV.
We were burning hardwood black walnut for days it was fantastic. You will want to bring a bag of apples to make friends with the horses and bring kids also.

Brandy and her family were wonderful hosts. Very warm and welcoming. Brandy showed us the horses that were boarded there when she fed them one night and her dad built us a fire and showed us around the property too. It was a great stay. We will return again on our travels through the area.

This was our first time booking a camping spot through Hipcamp, and the Von Holten Ranch was wonderful! Really enjoyed chatting with Brandy, and the ranch had everything we needed for a quick overnight stay (firewood and restrooms). The homemade ice cream was a great extra perk. :)

From the moment we pulled into the property we knew it would be wonderful! Our hosts were so kind and thoughtful and went above and beyond to make us comfortable! We enjoyed trail riding their horses and had so much fun! Definitely would recommend to our friends and family!
