Our camping experience was great! The site was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We enjoyed hiking on the property and exploring the 2 caves. Beautiful area! We will be back to camp again.

Great seclusion spot. Unmarked camping but far enough away to be private. Dogs were barking but only when we came in not all night for us. Hiking looks fun. Would recommend.

The property was absolutely beautiful. Camping in early November, there was no one else there and the privacy was nice. Hiking through the trails and see the different land marks was really cool. Will definitely be back!

Sage Mountain is a wonderful place to stay/explore! Perfect for real seclusion and “roughing it.” There are well marked trails, an amazing cave, beautiful bluffs and lanscape. Lots to explore and Arthur is very responsive for any questions you may have. It’s also not a far drive to the general store should you need any supplies.

We went tent camping at Sage mountain so we could attend the Renaissance festival nearby. We had an amazing time! Had the place to ourselves for most of the weekend. Cleared out a spot for our camp and loved our view of the stars. We had a local dog join us for the weekend, he was very sweet and a fun addition to our trip. If you hike the trails be prepared for an uphill climb, it’s quite the work out but worth it to view the caves and beautiful property. We will be back!

Arthur’s land was beautiful as always. This was our second trip here and we plan on coming back! Great hiking trails and areas to rock climb. Super excited to make another trip out here

Wow! What an INCREDIBLE place. Amazing location and multiple trail heads right from your camp spot. Super close to hermann too.
Do be aware though that neighbors dogs are not friendly & gun range is very close by.

Arthur was very responsive to questions and gave great directions. The area is beautiful with great rock formations and multiple caverns. We were the only ones camping and it was wonderful to get away. One item to note (I probably overlooked) is there are no set camp sites with picnic tables or anything (so perhaps bring a small table if needed). . My kids said it was their best camping experience to date. Greatful to Arthur for sharing his sanctuary with us.

I appreciate the flexibility with the dispersed camping. We rolled in late and had no idea what the land looked like as a took advantage of the optional car camping. My kid got a kick out of the caves, and the climbing options looked great.

The entire property was gorgeous. There are many trails that are gravel paved so mud and such isn’t a problem when hiking them. Everything is well labeled. Arthur gave great directions and was quick to respond to questions. We would recommend this place to friends and return some day.

Second time camping here, it’s beautiful. And easy to find firewood. Peaceful, private (only saw a couple climbers on Saturday afternoon) and relaxing. Highly recommend.

Beautiful property for primitive camping. I left my pack in my car and hiked around for a while to find a good spot. It can get steep in some areas so I figured I'd save some effort, in particular since I was carrying in water. I'd advise finding a spot towards the center or north of the property, rather than up high and to the south. When I got over the highest ridge to the south you could hear the nearby highway. Pretty quiet in the interior. Lots and lots of deadfall firewood. Boy it was pretty. I had a wonderful, peaceful couple of nights in the woods. Totally recommended! Art was a super-responsive and helpful host, too.

Host answered all our questions, we were the only ones there and it was nice. The dirt road to the parking lot was a little rough for my car, but still made it. Lots of paths to explore and we were able to camp at the cave. One thing to note is that there is some poison ivy around the trees on the left side of the cave when facing towards it.

Arthur has a really great property in other lots of marked trails and beautiful scenery. We found a very cool spot to set up camp off the main road but car camping was definitely a possibility too. The cave and rock formation were all beautiful and great if you’re a climber.
