Camp, Swim, BBQ, wade the creek, enjoy the campfire! Primitive Camping. Very Private. Water is cool and clear. Open to the stars. A great place to commune with nature, or enjoy some peace and quiet! 12 mile creek runs directly through our property. Shallow and deep all throughout. Great for wading, swimming, floating, kayaking. Great small mouth fishing! We are approximately one mile by water from the St. Francois River. We have kayaked down the creek to the river for many years. The farm is very rural. We are 16 miles to the closest gas station, and 25 miles to town. There is no internet. Cell phone service is spotty at best. Currently a working farm, we have 2 high tunnels on the property behind the house, and our original market garden. Across the creek we are finishing up our 5 acre agroforestry planting. 3 acres of elderberries and 2 acres of blackberries. 28 acres, 3 on one side, and 25 on the other. The farm is located approximately 2 hours south of St. Louis. Fredericktown is 30 mins away. Food, Drinks, Golf, and Lalo's Mexican Restaurant! There are a ton of local antique shops, and outdoor activities. Campsite # 2 is across the creek from the farm house. Located creekside, you will drive through our orchard down the road until you get to your campsite. Large gravel bar. Primitive. 4X4 recommended. Open to the stars. This spot is weather permitting. If we get heavy rains, campsite may not be accessible. NO RV ACCESS.

Campsite #3 Swimming Hole
We absolutely loved this spot! We made it back to the camp spot in a two wheel drive highlander but we left a little early due to a storm coming and we were nervous we may not make it back out without 4 wheel drive. We swam and had a great time. It's a beautiful secluded places and that's exactly what we wanted. We will definitely come back.

Site #3 was an awesome, serene spot. We went in October, so the water is a bit cold. We waded around with the dogs, and THEY had a blast swimming here, but we mostly enjoyed the view. It was extremely secluded and a perfect getaway. We WILL be returning next year during the summer to take advantage of that swimming hole.

A Hidden Gem at Melissa’s Land

We had such a wonderful experience tent camping at Melissa’s land. The property is peaceful and spacious, with plenty of room to set up comfortably. The highlight for us was the beautiful, clear water nearby—perfect for cooling off and just soaking in the natural beauty. Evenings were just as magical: sitting around a crackling campfire under a clear night sky full of stars made the whole stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway where you can connect with nature, this is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect secluded primitive swimming hole spot, just as described. Loved it so much we immediately booked it again for our next camping weekend! Be aware gps may take you to the owner’s home on the opposite side of the creek from the campsites. The correct road into the site has a hipcamp sign clearly displayed.

Stayed at Site 3 and it was awesome. Had a blast with the dogs. You are camping in the woods for sure. It is super rocky and in the wooded areas there’s a ton of ticks so just come prepared and you’ll have the most peaceful time. Private and perfect for swimming.

This was our third consecutive year staying at campsite #3 and the site has continued to improve each year. The site is quiet, secluded and beautiful. I can't recommended it enough for a one night or long weekend stay. We will be coming back again with our dogs to enjoy the swimming hole on a warm day.

#3 is a beautiful, private and peaceful spot. There was plenty of room and lots of sun and shade options. The creek was clear and cool and had deeper spots to swim and shallower ones to wade or park a chair in. It was definitely a unique and memorable spot to camp.

This place was spectacular. VERY HIDDEN little paradise. The campsite is passed the owner's property across the bridge. After we made it to the campsite the place is about 1/2 mile inward through a narrow path. I, as well as others, recommend using a 4-wheeled vehicle for this campsite. I even managed to almost get stuck arriving to the campsite but got unstuck in less than 5 minutes. Just be careful and go slow. The campsite is wonderful and magical. Very calming. The rocks help with the bugs. We were barely untouched with the bugs in this area especially camping in August. I recommend this campsite to the campers that would like really private, secluded, but luckily still had some cell service (surprisingly once at the campsite). The first time we had to actually camp and bring our own toilet. I didn't mind it at all. Beautiful spot to swim or relax near the water and read a book. Highly recommend this wonderful little paradise. Can't wait to come back and experience campsite #2!!!

Perfect spot. Normally camp gravel bars canoeing Jacks Fork, Current, Eleven Point, etc. Wanted a quick get away without all the logistics and prep to float camp. This was exactly what I was looking for. Super private. Good sandy tent spot. Swimming hole. Firewood. Shade. Sun. Favorite car camp I have done. Definitely need 4x4. Trail in is about 1/2 mile drive and is very over grown. Another reason I loved this spot so much. Little secret hide away. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Campsite #2 Gravel Bar Turnaround
Had a good time here tent camping for the April 2024 eclipse! The view of it was absolutlely spectacular. The site was nice and secluded with very few sounds from other campers/busy roads, and the sky is a bortle 2 or so, making it is very dark and you can see an insane amount of stars/the milky way. Only issue was, the directions provided were pretty vague which caused me to end up at the wrong campsite. Melissa was very chill about it and helped me to the right spot. Pro tip: If you're trying to get to campsites #2 and #3, turn right just before a bridge going over twelve mile creek from state highway C traveling southbound. Also, there was no fire pit, but it was easy enough to MacGyver one out of nearby rocks.

Tent camping here was awesome! Thanks for letting us use your lovely space. The stars were amazing and it’s nicely secluded. The stream sounds are really soothing at night.

Campsite #3 Swimming Hole
Primitive and secluded campsite at the end of a rocky/sand road. The area isn’t cleared very well, there’s few level spots, and is just overall unkempt. The swimming hole is nice and worth it , but it felt kind of sketchy (atvs driving up and down nearby roads unsure if they’d come where we were) and the directions to get there weren’t great. If you’re looking for a secluded spot to swim and have for wheel drive then I’d say go for it.

We loved the private gravel bar campground. The clear creek had a nice swimming hole and the water running over the rocks was the perfect calming background noise to sleep next to. Felt like we were in our own private getaway. Make sure you have a sleeping pad or air mattress, as you are on gravel, but there is a nice flat spot to set up your tent. Hope to come back soon!

We had an amazing time camping here and highly recommend! As we drove through the orchard to the site, we passed Melissa working in the orchard and she was so warm and welcoming! Upon arriving at the site, we were pleasantly surprised at how much space we had all to ourselves (our dogs loved this as well). The site was very secluded and quiet and we had the clearest creek water running through the site for the dogs to play in. Also, not that we needed it, but we actually got great cell phone reception out there…which is hard to come by with scenery like this! On the way home, we were already talking about how we can’t wait to go back and camp there again. Thanks for sharing your space with us Melissa! We will definitely be back!
