The site was fine. The “road” in was in rough shape. The men’s bathroom was disgusting due to a previous user that was not the fault of the host.

We chose to camp right by the water down away from everyone else, and it was BEAUTIFUL! I loved the property, we were able to fish in the creek and the lake, it was perfect! Plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the peace! I recommend staying here!

I have stayed at many campgrounds in my lifetime and never felt uncomfortable or unsafe at one until staying at this campground. Upon check in, everything was great. My first impression was “this is the type of place we don’t leave stuff out and make sure to lock up.” But that’s just the case for some places. After returning from our adventures for the day I could see small groups of parties beginning to form. I had to wait for people to move out of my way of walking through my campsite to park our vehicle. After doing so people just continued to walk around the vehicle, in our site and between the camper and vehicle. People immediately began asking us personal questions, the moment we got out of the vehicle. Dogs were roaming around off leash, and one even was displaying aggressive behavior. Between this and the people blatantly ignoring boundaries our dogs were immediately on edge. Conversations were being had over and around us from one side of the campground to the other. Conversations, words and topics I do not want around my child. So, we made the decision to leave quite quickly. If you do decide to stay here just be aware it’s basically a compound of people who seem to live there and if you’re the person staying for one night you get thrown right in the middle of everyone and only the strong survive.
To make matters worse, I have messaged the host and requested a refund and have heard nothing back.

There are alot of run down more permanent placed campers. Not the cleanest area. Did not feel safe , especially at night when there was alot of vehicle traffic after 10pm

We stayed in our trailer for 1 night. We had a good time. There is a camp ground across the water and they party day and night. There is a little beach area but it is packed with non campers...think it must not be part of the camp ground.

Just us girls, summer camping trip. Fourth year in a row coming to this site. No other can compare, in our opinion. It's quiet, seems somewhat secluded but still only 7 minutes from a Walmart and 3minutes from a gas station. It's also only 7minutes drive to beautiful Grand Falls. We love to float from the falls to our camp. Very relaxing. Lots of wildlife. The land owners, Phil and Angie, are both super nice and so are their dogs. The restrooms/showers are in good repair and cleaned often. The land is very rocky, consider that if tent camping. The river is always so clear, and it's fun to go see all the beautiful rocks and fish.
RV campers- there is a narrow somewhat steep incline/decline onto the property so that may be something to consider if your rig is really long but there were about 20 RV/Campers onsite already and they clearly figured it out just fine.
There is also a nice sized beach area open for all campers to enjoy. Always clean when we go. There are several trees but also a lot of open space as well. The on site lake with rope swing is always a hit with our group, too.
Overall, our favorite trip every year, hands down.

Be sure the in app directions guide you to the right place (to a campground)! Maps sent me 10 minutes away to a church 😅
Luckily Angela responded immediately to my message to give me the address. I arrived late after a long drive.
I camped as a stop over on a roadtrip moving back home (solo female camper and I felt very safe).
The location is actually quite lovely and peaceful. The frogs sang me to sleep. There’s a central pond the camping is set around (with huge rope swing!) and the campground is set along a river, both waters an easy walk away (though I only swam in the river). Some of the tent sites are a ways away from the toilet, the RV sites being closer.
This was the perfect camp spot: friendly neighbors, peaceful sleep, I got a morning swim in before hitting the road, what else could a gal ask for!

It's was a great overnight stay and the river was a welcome break from the heat. I was a little nervous because other reviews mentioned how busy it is, but we just drove a little further into the campground and had no trouble finding a spot all to ourselves - and any groups quieted down well before dark. We have our own bathroom in the van, so I can't speak to theirs. But the hosts were incredibly nice, communication was great, and we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely book again.

We were genuinely excited to stay at this campground. The creekside location looked beautiful, and we were looking forward to a relaxing weekend with our family. Unfortunately, within 15–20 minutes of arriving, we experienced multiple red flags that made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable—off-leash dogs, unsettling behavior from other campers, and what appeared to be drug activity. It wasn’t the kind of environment we felt comfortable staying in with a child and pets, so we decided to leave immediately.
I communicated our concerns respectfully to the owner, who initially seemed open to issuing a refund for the unused night. However, it’s now been a week, and no refund has been processed or confirmed. The final response I received was dismissive, claiming the suspicious activity was just a staff member collecting money, despite multiple concerning observations and similar reports noted in other reviews.
We didn’t take the decision to leave lightly—we drove nearly an hour and were really looking forward to our stay. Sadly, the reality didn’t match the online presentation, and the lack of accountability afterward only added to the disappointment.
I wouldn’t recommend this campground for families or anyone seeking a safe, peaceful experience.

Great location for a quick stop on my way through. Angela was very friendly and quickly responded to all my questions. I was expecting full hookups but didn’t see a sewer connection. Wasn’t a big deal for a quick stay. I would recommend this place!

I stayed at Riverside by Hollyhaven for one night. The location was convenient, but the showers were dirty and in need of maintenance. The staff was friendly, but I won’t be returning unless improvements are made.

I really loved my time here. I stayed in a tent site next to a stream. I was passing through town, and it's conveniently located near the interstate, but secluded enough to enjoy nature. They were very welcoming, and provided wood for a nice bonfire. I would highly recommend!

Best kept boondock secret in Joplin

Last week on our way from OKC to Steelville, MO we had the opportunity to boondock on one of the most picturesque riverfront locations I have ever had the opportunity to camp at. We saw tons of deer, a bald eagle and lots of waterfowl. We went arrowhead hunting at the caves onsite and enjoyed fires a few feet from the rivers edge nightly. Now we are fully self-contained with solar and large battery bank to cover all our needs so the lack of hookups next to the river were a non issue for us. Will we be back… 100% we will and we will relish every peaceful moment with no neighbors to disturb our solitude.

It was a safe place for us to pull in and park on the river overnight. We got there after dark a den left in the dark. It looked beautiful but only a saw it at night.

I had a great time! Me and my hubby wanted to get out of the house for the night and this was perfect. We popped our tents right on the edge of the water and went swimming. We even brought our kayaks!
