Float, Fish, Swim or vacation in the Ozarks. We have approximately 3 acers of the 15 we own set aside for camping. Plenty of room for two campsites on cleared, level land adjacent to the James River. We offer a dumpsite for holding tanks, water from our well to fill your water tank and electricity to charge devices and RV batteries at my barn. Also in 2023 I added a port a potty for tent campers. Generator rental available. Located about halfway between Springfield, MO. and Branson, MO. Nearby attractions include canoe rental, trout fishing, and mountain bike park. Please note, This campground is located in a floodplain and weather related cancellations are common. If you are camping to be close to nearby attractions or don't mind a muddy, flooded river I can let you camp on higher ground. Not quite as private but still lots of room. Fish, Fish, Fish. This river is primed for fishing. You will have to bring your own boat, or float as I don't have good river bank fishing access. There is a state park boat ramp a short distance away. The steps in the photos are plenty sturdy to tie boats to overnight. This river is fishable with flat bottom jet drive boats most of the spring and early summer and floatable year round. You can float to your campsite and relax instead of waiting in line at the boat ramp. Also we are located about 13 miles from Crane Creek, A blue ribbon trout park. You can camp here and fish there.Camp beside the James River and spend the day in Springfield, 20 miles away or Branson, 30 miles away. Bring your kayak or canoe and float or fish. Canoe Rental (Hooten Town canoe rental, reservations recommended) and public boat ramp available 1 mile away. Or bring your mountain bike and visit Two Rivers Bike Park located 5 miles away. Also Trout fishing at a private park is 3 miles away. River access from campsite is via a staircase (see pictures) or a nearby private access for launching canoes. Please note, This campground is located in a floodplain and weather related cancellations are common. If you are camping here to be close to local attractions or don't mind a flooded, muddy river I have room on higher ground. Not as private but plenty of room.

Perfect for large families!
Our family had such a great stay at this location! The owner was there when we arrived to give us a tour and had plenty of wood and water available on site for us to use. The location was perfect and the campsite was very well kept. We played and swam all weekend in our own private camp! Couldn’t have asked for a better trip! Thank you, Greg!

We went tent camping at Greg's my wife and I with four kids. It was very spacious, we never felt cramped even with another group of people there. Greg is very polite and friendly, we are already talking about going back again this year. Would highly recommend if you love being near the water and listening to nature it's really peaceful.

We enjoyed are stay on Orphans Island. This is our 2nd visit and we plan on making it a yearly tradition. It has a ton of space and next to the river is amazing. Great space for my 5 kids to play and enjoy the outside!

2nd time camping here and many more
This was our 2nd stay! Greg is an amazing helpful host. He added some things to the camp and he really goes above and beyond. He helped us get our keys out of our truck that we accidentally locked inside. He pulled out my grandparents truck and trailer out of the mud. He was attentive to the dock on the river. Super super friendly and awesome!!!! This is going to be our family's camping spot fursure. Thank you Greg for letting our family make memories together on your property!!!
