Camping with my daughters
Rosalie was a great host. I went camping with my two older daughters - 6 and 8. We were very excited about camping on some actual farm land. Before we registered we asked about catch and release fishing on the lake that the campground resides on. Rosalie was more than happy to let us fish.
We stayed at the camp site near where the ducks are housed as it was flat, plenty of room, and right on the lake. The sound of the farm was part of the experience and my girls loved the farm action that was taking place the entire time.
After setting up camp we got some fire wood from Rosalie and she gave my girls some life lessons on living on a farm which was very educational. They even helped water some of the crops.
Being on my own without my wife and youngest daughter I was worried about passing the time and keeping the girls entertained. Needless to say, with the educational experience, the great fishing, and the never ending farm action.. we didn’t cook dinner until late in the night and by then the girls were exhausted.
We had a nice campfire at the end of the night, looked up at the stars that were not washed out by city lights and enjoyed the many sounds of nature.
In the morning we got up, had another great fishing experience, cooked some breakfast, fished some more, and packed up to head back home.
Before leaving we picked up a dozen chicken eggs that Rosalie sells on the farm.
All in all I found this place to be one of the greatest hidden gems.
