Settle into The Grove at North River Ranch, a lovely glampground on our 2200 acre working regenerative ranch. Look out on the pond, under the shade of oak, maple and honey locusts. Hike a trail through forested paths, around beautiful wide pastures. Look for protected birds on our Audubon Certified property, and observe deer, fox, beavers and other wildlife in their natural, balanced environment. Enjoy quiet, restful sleep in furnished platform tents with quality linens and handcrafted quilts under beautiful, unobstructed starry skies.

Tent Site A at North River Ranch

North River Ranch is a working regenerative ranch. The Grove Campground is tucked away in the south corner of our 2200 acre property. You can hike trails through our woodland and pasture, visit our creeks and ponds and experience nature up close. We are Audobon Certified, which means our ranch is abundant with birds, butterflies and wildlife. Drive Shelby County country roads and visit local towns like Monroe City, Shelbyville, and Shelbina for antiquing, farmer's markets and local charm. Nearby Bethel is on the National Record of Historic Places (visit historicbethel.org) Tent sites nestle into the tree line on the edge of the campground, each one is fifty to a hundred feet from the next site. This is a rustic site: Bring your own camping gear. Showerhouse may be available for additional fee, if they are not booked. Use of the outdoor kitchen may be available for an additional fee. Additional services, bike rentals and ranch tours are also available. A camp toilet and privacy tent will be placed at your site for your use.

Nearby Bethel is on the National Record of Historic Places (visit historicbethel.org) Our Cardinal site sits over the pond, nestled between a large oak and persimmon grove. It's outfitted with a queen bed, comfy chair, side tables, lanterns, overhead lights and porch chairs. Your private shower house with flush toilet and sink is a short walk away. Ask about adding up to two cots for your two small children or one adult, about added services, ranch tours and bike rentals. If you are visiting as a group, ask about Meadowlark.

It's outfitted with a king bed OR two extra long twin beds, comfy chair, side tables, lanterns, overhead lights and porch chairs. Your private shower house with flush toilet and sink is a short walk away. Ask about adding up to two cots for your two small children or one adult, about added services, ranch tours and bike rentals. If you are visiting as a group, ask about Cardinal.

It's outfitted with a king bed OR two extra long twins, comfy chair, side tables, lanterns, overhead lights and porch chairs. Your private shower house with flush toilet and sink is a short walk away. Ask about adding up to two cots for your two small children or one adult, about added services, ranch tours and bike rentals. You'll have full access to the outdoor pavilion and kitchen, with fridge, freezer, grill, hotplates. We have basic dishes, cups, pots, pans and cooking utensils. We serve a morning coffee bar and light breakfast. Other meals and services are available, including provisioning for your trip. Our large communal fire ring is the perfect place to watch the sunset- ask about smores kits!

Quiet Cottage at North River Ranch

Enjoy time in the country at this simple country cottage in the middle of a working Mennonite farm. You can explore country roads and ranch trails and come back to comfy beds, air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen. No TV or Wifi, but ample cell coverage from most carriers. A perfect country retreat for your family! We aren't the right stay for parties or loud revelry, as we seek to preserve the peaceful environment integral to our neighbor's way of life.

Bess responded very well to my last minute request. The directions to get there were perfect. Very clean and very quiet place. The night is really dark, very beautiful sky. Good WIFI. Very clean and well appointed outdoor kitchen. Beautiful place. Thanks Bess
