we love this place!! what crooked creek lacks in amenities it makes up for in peace, solitude and outdoor fun!! my pack of dogs love the freedom to be wild while their parents sit by the fire. the trail around the property is lovely too. thank you to ross for sharing this slice of heaven!!

This was our second time back and it was just as wonderful as the first. Ross's place is so peaceful and secluded, you will not be disappointed. Ross is a wonderful host and great at communication. We will be coming back again and again.

A wonderful experience camping under the stars! Definitely loved the seclusion and being able to enjoy the great outdoors like we are supposed too! Super grateful for the experience and being able to explore the trail, but might’ve destroyed some spider homes along the way. Thank you Ross for keeping the land beautiful and having a perfect clearing to spend the night under the stars. Perfect for hammocking if you prefer to sleep outside!

I love this spot! I've camped here like five times. It's consistantly and completely private with a private beautiful trail. The big fire pit and table already at the sight are a cherry on top. I also have an old 2WD car and I'm alway's easily able to get there. Ross is perfect host, always easy to contact and very helpful! Thanks!!!!

Crooked Creek Ranch
I took a group of six fellas for a one-night camping trip, here at Crooked Creek Ranch. Ross is a thoughtful host, and communicates very well before and during the campout. The campsite is as-advertised, without facilities, but Ross provided ample, non-potable water for fire dousing, washing, etc. He provided shovels for latrine use, but our group brought modified camp toilets, and took our waste with us, bagged.
The picnic table and bench were in very good condition. The cleared area is well maintained. We endeavored to leave the campsite as pristine or better than we found it.
Some nearby animals gave us a great, musical serenade early in the evening, and early in the morning, but a quite night in between.
Although I didn't bring my travel trailer on this trip, I can see how it would be an awesome place to bring it in the future. It really is a picturesque, peaceful place. If this is your plan, be very mindful of your antennas, and awning. There are many, low tree branches between the pipe gate and clearing area.
I wish we had booked two nights instead of just one, and hopefully, Ross will have me back another time. Five stars.

We loved camping on Ross's land so much!! Ross is such a wonderful host and couldn't be nicer! If you are looking for a very quiet and peaceful place, this is it. Ross has marked a very nice trail around his property that allows you to experience nature and see more wildlife. There is a lot of hiking and things to do close by. We will definitely be back to camp soon. Thank you for sharing your amazing property with us Ross!

We loved our stay! Having the entire place to ourselves made it feel like our own private retreat. Our dogs had so much space to run, play, and just enjoy being outdoors. It was perfect for us. The site was peaceful, quiet, and just what we were looking for to unwind. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing spot tucked away in the wilderness. My dog and I had the best time walking the trail, playing fetch and just relaxing in the forest. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for peace, quiet and solitude!! Ross was very helpful as well. Great spot!!

This was such a great place to camp, and totally incredibly private! I never saw another soul, not even driving by on the dirt road lol! There were chairs and a table at the ready, plenty of places to pitch a tent, and even a good spot for my hammock. Will totally be coming back.

Ross has a nice spot to hang out. It would be ideal for those searching for solitude or a group of campers to gather out in the woods.
Ross delivered the wood. He was kind enough to lay out water jugs without a charge and a shovel for those who need it.

I was looking for a primitive, secluded, campsite to be totally isolated/hidden away from any other people. Crooked Creek Ranch definitely fit the bill. It was exactly what I was looking for. I booked a 10 night stay, and began to feel quite at home after my first couple of nights. There is a campfire ring/fire pit, a couple benches, a picnic table, non-potable water for after your fire, a trash can, an outdoor toilet chair, shovels for burying your excrement, and a long hiking trail through the woods. Also, a mailbox on a tree stump. Inside is a welcome note from Russ with his phone number in case you need anything, and a Logbook for campers to leave a note. There was a full moon during my stay. It was wild how bright the night was. Once the moonlight was not so bright anymore, the stars were more visible. The stars were amazing. I had forgotten how many there are, and how bright they can be. The night sky was just so incredibly clear. You have 35 acres of woods surrounding you in a nice sized clearing, capable of handling a large group of campers in several separate units, or, as in my case, just a solo and a tent. The phone service is pretty poor. It's mostly only available at the gate entrance, and sometimes not even there, which was fine with me. The only thing that would've made it better is a body of water, and greener grass in the clearing. But, it was the end of October and it hadn't rained in quite a while. I guess you can't have it all. Definitely recommended 👌

Took the truck and pop up camper had a great time plenty of space for my dog to run around went to the cave about a hour away had a nice fire and the stars were incredible. Highly recommend camping here. 10/10 coming back

Highly recommend! Bring a cot and try to time your fire so that it is out so you can enjoy the night show. The clearing was perfect for star gazing. As evening begins, the Fireflies put on a great dance. Owls become active shortly after, counted at least 6. The way the fire's light made the trees glow while I was watching the night sky was very relaxing. It was fun to spot the satellites and shooting stars. Ross was a great host. Easy to find with given directions. I plugged in the gps coordinates he gave and led me straight to the entrance.
Tmobile is hit or miss. Strong enough for texting pictures when it works but also no signal in some spots.

Exactly as expected. My dogs and I had a great time, though we came home with dozens of tick hitchhikers, of which other reviews had warned. It was so nice to have a secluded area to ourselves. I set up a hammock between to trees toward the beginning of the open clearing and it was perfect. The dogs wanted to explore every inch of the land and were quite tuckered out the next day. We plan to come back again soon! Hopefully when the creek is flowing.

Very private. The land is wild and free. More ticks than I expected, and I left early due to weather, but the experience was as advertised. I had no problems locating the site and the host was very helpful.

Exactly as advertised! Lovely quiet spot that I would love to come back to. The only sign of other humans was the occasional airplane that went by somewhere in the distance. Clear directions and instructions/tips, good fire ring.
