Cardin’s Lake

The hosts were wonderful! We arrived late, after dark, and a campfire was already made for us. They provided firewood which was a very nice surprise. The property was peaceful and perfect.

It was a beautiful location. We heard lots of birds and frogs. Garbage cans were overflowing from what appeared to be a party. There were no portable toilets as advertised. When I contacted the host she said that we could go in her house and use hers. We chose not to intrude since we had other options.

Nice quiet spot, friendly hosts!

I car camped on Melane’s land right near the lake. I didn't use the pavilion at all but its a really nice amenity. They normally have a sign at the end of the driveway but it was recently blown down, Melane is very quick to respond and helped me find the right driveway. She was having issues with the toilet system they provide to campers but I had my own toilet setup so no problems there. I don’t know if it was the time of year or just luck but the temperatures were great and bugs were almost nonexistent! I didn’t partake but hear there is good fishing in that lake too! There’s a really enjoyable twisty woods drive from the highway to the property. Would camp here again! Melane and her husband are very nice and were happy to get a firepit lit and chatted with me for a bit.

This was a beautiful spot to camp. The weather was not in our favor and the awning they had on the site was so handy. We loved fishing in the pond! We loved this spot! We are already planning our next trip!

I got there after dark and I left first thing in the morning, but I will tell you that it was a very peaceful place to be, Very clean and a wonderful place to wake up in in the morning, so yes, I would recommend this

Pros: Beautiful view of the lake. Plenty of open space for placing your tent. An awesome fireplace with a pile of wood prepared and ready. Convenient pavilion with plenty of seating and electricity, the lighting was plus as well. The place was easy to find, I have AT&T and had phone service the whole trip for anyone worried about losing service. Cons: The portapotty was not well maintained and the spiders stare at you while do your business. A lot of neighboring dogs howling along with the coyotes all night. I only caught one fish but that’s due to poor shore fishing. I’m sure someone with a kayak/canoe would have better luck.

The pond was gorgeous and well maintained. The pond seemed very full, however we did not fish. The host was very kind and did come check on us.

Great spot not far from the interstate. Beautiful drive and great place to stay for a quick overnight camp on our weekend drive.

Didn’t get in til after dark, but Melane was super responsive over the app to any and all questions. Nice pond view and the “pavilion” (a roofed shelter with a Christmas lights and picnic tables) was clutch in the rain. Small sites, but fine for an overnight.

I was basically just passing through, and got in late, so unfortunately, I wasn't able to spend much time here. It's a very nice place to camp, however. Despite not being way out in the wilderness, you definitely feel immersed in nature. As we camped alongside the little lake, an abundance of frogs and bugs were audible, and we even heard the distant cries of coyotes. It's definitely a nice place to stay

Great camping spot

I was only here long enough to put my tent up, sleep, then take my tent down and leave. I'm sure it would’ve been a great spot for a longer stay with picnic tables, a nice fire, and some fishing. Melane was quick to respond, gave good directions, and was a friendly and welcoming host.
