When looking for a camp site we always choose spots that are private and safe for our dogs, based on the description of this site, we thought it would be perfect.
We drive two hours to the spot.
It was super nice, very shaded. The river access was perfect.
However, We were surprised to have direct line of sight to a home right next door.
Shortly after we started getting settled in, we were greeted with a very unhappy tiny dog that attacked and bit at my much larger dog’s feet. (Our leashed dogs) Thankfully our dogs are not reactive even though they were very uncomfortable with the situation and we were able to deescalate the situation.
The owner did apologize but this put us on high alert the rest of the evening.
We had a nice few hours, enjoyed the water front and camp fire. The river was a bit busy due to it being Memorial Day weekend but it was okay, swimmers just had to be cautious. The fresh water access was great, having the water pad to float on was a nice option and there was a hammock available.
The neighbors have a light on their house that shines directly at the campsite. It goes on and off, on and off, over and over. Many times we were startled by bright lights shining straight into our tents from vehicles in the driveway and people coming and going from the home. Eventually at 1:00AM we packed up and drove the 2 hours back home.
I understand that some campers are ok with the chaos of neighbors, but the description should reflect that.

Wonderful water front camping experience. Private and secluded, but close enough that you can run to the store or go grab food. We loved camping here and hope to return again soon! Also, the host was communicative and helpful. Thanks so much!

The Apple Waterfront
We loveeddd this sweet little spot. Full of trees for shade, right on the rivers edge. Quite, peaceful and a very nice river to paddle. Everyone we met along the way were very nice and helpful. Kris the host is just the best. She is very helpful and communicative. The site itself is very neat and clean and just easy to enjoy. We will be going back often.

What a wonderful camp spot! We stayed two nights with our tent. Host is very nice and accommodating. The spot is nicely maintained and shaded with steps down to the waterfront. The potable water hookups were a nice luxury and there was a stone picnic table to supplement the table we brought. Totally relaxing and highly recommended to escape to nature and splash in the river.
