This was a fantastic camping experience! The hosts were quick to respond. The wine tasting was an extra perk with great hosts! I wish we could have spent more time! We will for sure return!

We loved camping with our twnt right next to the little lake. We enjoyed watching the honey making process and wine tasting.

Great family friendly people!
It is a great spot to relax and unwind. They have a cool pond with a boat to keep the kids busy and also have some great tasting wines for the adults! Oh and the maple syrup is amazing as well!! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone of any age!

Wonderful place to camp! Quiet & picturesque with ducks & geese flying in the pond right in front of us. Mike & Betty were fabulous hosts & we enjoyed our time with them at the winery tasting room. Loved the Live Free or Die flag as it matched my bike jersey!

What a treasure!!
What an amazing weekend it has been! Mike and Betty are terrific hosts who offered me (at no extra charge☺️) big laughs, deep conversation, shared adventures of thier own and so much more. Their property offers an off-the-grid winery with wine tasting, beautiful views, a man made lake, homemade maple syrup, free firewood during your stay (when used responsibly, of course) raspberry patches, free trailer rides behind the tractor, dispersed camping (perfect for ages 0 - 100) ....🤔 hmm what else..I am sure there is something that I am forgetting.
Anyway, I highly recommend visiting to enjoy and support all the endless hard work that is clearly put into this wonderful Isle, MN mom and pop winery.
Thank you, Mike and Betty! I'll be back to check in on you. That is your warning! 😉🤗

The sunset views were outstanding! Host's Mike and Betty were very accommodating, welcoming and provided a superior camping experience. With tour around the grounds on tractor drawn wagon.

Book your stay already!!
You'll never want to camp at another overcrowded campground in your life.
The camping sites are private, the property is full of opportunities to explore, it's located close to multiple state parks, AND has a private swimming/fishing pond. On top of all that, Mike and Betty are absolutely beautiful, friendly people. They met us at the gate at arrival, gave us the rundown of the property, and picked us up from our campsite later in the afternoon for a tractor ride around the property. Come prepared for mosquitos and ticks.

Teenagers had a blast!
Very family and pet friendly, BEAUTIFUL camp sites! My teenagers had a blast, they enjoyed the off grid experience! They played Frisbee, there was a ton of space to enjoy that and explore!

Amazing Hidden Gem!
This is the 3rd time we stayed with Mike and Betty and every time it just gets better! Even though we weren't able to visit last summer (after making the 7 hour trip just to re-experience our stay there in 2020), they remembered us and our preferred "spot" (which I won't share because I don't want anyone else to be clued on the best camping spot in the midwest!). Per usual, they were incredibly accommodating and the space was amazing! We enjoyed the turtle "song" all night and watching the stars and fireflies through our screen tent. Having unlimited firewood and delicious well water is a definite bonus, then add in the unique discoveries on the property and Mike and Betty's amazing hospitality and the vineyard has quickly become one of our favorite places in the US! We can't wait to return!

Vineyard farm is a beautiful place to camp. The host is very nice and accommodating. We did not get a chance to try the wine, but looking forward to that when we stay again. Great area for our dogs to play and close to Father Hennepin for some nice hikes.

This was a great private camp area! Lots of camp sites to choose from and an acreage for the dog to run around with. Mike and Betty were very easy to communicate with and super friendly when we stopped by the winery ! Mike even helped jumped my car when the battery died. Would definitely come back.

Great off the grid adventure!
We're were off the grid but never missed it. So much to do. We felt like family and my kids love Mike, Betty, and of course Brianna (The dog). Seriously the best. There was craft soda at the barn, wine tasting, scooter races, collecting honey, hauling wood, picking rocks, climbing, fishing, boating, pumpkin picking, hiking, and great bonfire stories at the end of the night. It was a rainy weekend so if it was that fun in the wet I can't wait to come back on a sunny day.

A Lovely, Friendly, Peaceful Stay!
Mike and Betty’s place was wonderful! An absolutely lovely setting with solitude. Mike was quick to show us around and give us our choice of camping spot, offer up firewood, a tour of the off grid winery when bottling was underway, and spend some time chatting and answering questions. Bonus: the duck decoys in the lake. My German Shorthaired Pointer thoroughly enjoyed planting his butt on the shore and staring them down for almost three hours straight. Entertainment to be had by all! As a stop over on the way to Montana it was our best night yet and we would love to stop back. The fall colors are on the upswing and the ride in the area was beautiful. Thank you both for accommodating our stay!

A great location, wonderful stay!
Mike and Betty were very gracious hosts! When we arrived they brought out an outhouse, buckets of water, and picnic tables right out to the location at our campsite, and let us choose whichever site worked best for us! Mike was nice enough to take me and my kids for a tractor ride, my wife and friends had a great time wine tasting at the vineyard, and we also were able to use the lake, boats, fishing equipment, and firewood as needed for no extra cost!! We relaxed during the day, observed turtles and frogs out at the lake, waved to passerby’s on tractor tours of the farm and, during a time when nearby campsites were crowded and overflowing with campers, I really appreciated the tranquility, beauty, and relative solitude the camp provided for us and our friends!!

Perfect in every way.
Great stay! Dark sky created just the right setting on Mike and Bettys Vineyard Farms for star gazing and meteor viewing. Parked the Class B RV next to the pond in back and we’re rewarded with a fly over of a green heron and a beautiful setting for sitting through the evening sunset. I would have liked to have done a sampling of the Farms wine but needed to be elsewhere most of the day. We’ll return! Love the place and Mike was a gracious and helpful host. Thank you!

Keep this one a secret!
We had a great time at the Vineyard. Mike and Betty were like family. They were there to great us and show us the property. They check on us in the evening to make sure we had everything needed and to simply chat. We had a great time exploring their property. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. Our boys loved the trails and space to ride bike. Lots of teaching/learning moments for our boys too. Working vineyard (off the power grid), bee hives, maple syrup production, small pond, etc. not to mention, wine tasting. This could easily become an annual trip.

Solo female traveler here and I felt very safe here! You are in your own world camping at the vineyard. Mike came out to show me around the campsite and was very kind. If you are in the area, you will have an amazing experience camping here!

Charming, quiet spot.
Friendly hosts, lovely setting, close to some conveniences but far enough away to be quiet and serene, and safe for the dogs to run around away from roads. That said, when we got caught in a bad squall at 3am, there was nowhere to hide, which made for a harrowing night. Overall seems like a great spot for a night by the campfire, wish we had been luckier with the weather.

Delightful experience
This was our first hipcamp experience and it was absolutely wonderful!! We camped in a minivan and a tent with our 5th grader and our dog.
So much space for them to run around, catch frogs by the pond, paddle around in the row boat, and just generally enjoy being outside.
Mike and Betty are great hosts. They gave us a quick tour when we arrived to show where the campsites were and which areas not to drive on (some are walking only). We enjoyed chatting with them when we sampled wine at their winery. Make sure to try the maple syrup - it's delicious!!
There are two state parks nearby. Father Hennepin is only a few miles away and has a nice swimming beach. Mille Lacs Kathio is another 15 minutes down the road. You can also swim at the pond at the winery, but I don't recommend it for younger kids because of the sharp dropoff next to shore. Instead of swimming, our 10 year old jumped at the chance to use the provided paddle boat and row boat.
We really enjoyed the two nights we spent here on our way to the North shore. So much, in fact, that we booked another night in a few days to break up the drive home from the Superior National Forest.

Awesome Place!
Mike and Betty’s place was just perfect. Everything was as described. Well maintained property with great spots to set up camp. Mike and Betty were very helpful and a joy to talk with. Their wine is really good, try the sampler and you’ll find more than one you’ll like. If wine is not your thing, the syrup is amazing!
We really enjoyed our time there and are looking forward to another stay soon.

Amazing 3 night stay-holiday wknd
We had 2 families spend the weekend at Mike and Betty’s place over 4th of July. Between us there’s 5 kids age 3-6. What an incredible time had by all! Camp was right next to the pond where the kids spent most of their time searching for frogs, catching sunnies, and having rowboat rides. They were lucky enough to catch a couple wagon rides and enjoyed the swing set too. The adults enjoyed the beautiful property as well- wine tasting/purchasing, maple syrup, wagon tour, agate hunting, and chatting with Mike and Betty were all highlights for us. We will be back no doubt! Couldn’t ask for a better camp experience.

Scenic vineyard & incredible hosts!
Staying at Mike and Betty’s Vineyard farm and family camp was a tremendous treat. It was our first Hipcamp adventure and we can’t wait for our next! Although the weather was cloudy, we enjoyed our scenic camping spot on top of the hill complete with table/fire ring/outhouse and a personalized winetasting with Mike. We look forward to returning!

Incredible stay! Kids loved it.
Amazing property with incredibly generous hosts. We happened to be the only ones on the sites when we stayed but even if others were there it would have still been great. It’s a gorgeous property and with such close access to state parks and the great outdoors it is a true hidden gem.
