Welcome to The Black Loon! We are located in Cuyuna Country, a few steps from the Sagamore Unit. Located 2 hrs. north of the Twin Cities you will find yourself surrounded by adventure at every turn. Bike, hike or paddle opportunities are only steps away from the property or take a 5min drive into Crosby/Ironton for dining and shopping the local retailers. You will have access to 2.5 acres with wide open and forested spaces with ample room for your RV or tent. Enjoy a fire, hang in a hammock or take a hike or bike around the private trail. You’ll find plenty of firewood, a screened in gazebo and charcoal grill. If you’re staying in a camper or RV, there is plenty of space to turn around and a round-a-bout driveway with a center island perfect for hanging hammocks.There is many great spaces to set up a tent or camper/RV. There is a fire pit, charcoal grill, screened gazebo with table and 4 chairs. There is a private trail on the property to enjoy either biking or hiking. Currently there is no bathroom, water or power on site. Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. No bathroom on-site

There is many great spaces to set up a tent or camper/RV. There is a fire pit, charcoal grill, screened gazebo with table and 4 chairs. There is a private trail on the property to enjoy either biking or hiking. Currently there is no bathroom, water or power on site. The Black Loon
Great Site. Loved that it was just outside the entrance to Cayuna Country Sagamore unit. Our family really enjoyed the site. Plenty of space, nice level area for our camper. Our family was able to enjoy the mountain bike trails and then retreat back to the site for relaxation time. We are already talking about our next trip back. Only downside to the site is the proximity to the highway as you do have constant road noise. Also it seemed like we were in the approach line for the airport. This wasn't so bad as it was fun to watch the planes and they were not going after dark.

This space is awesome. Very well maintained. Plenty of firewood. The porta john was the cleanest one we’ve ever seen. Great location, just outside of the Sagamore unit. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the spot, plenty of area for kids and dogs to play close to lots of lakes for kayaking and/or boating, huge fire was great for cooking large meals, the seclusion was awesome. I would highly recommend staying

Large open space surrounded by tall trees at the end of a cul-de-sac providing a pretty private and secluded site. LOTS OF SPACE. Way more than expected. Ample firewood and rock fire pit. Nice deck chairs and a gazebo with netting is at the site. Nice flat pads for tents. The site is pretty close to the mine pit boat landing which provided a nice relief from the heat over the weekend.

The Black Loon
Thanks for sharing your land Paul! We had a great stay at The Black Loon. The property has a large and mostly flat clearing in the middle surrounded by woods. My son loved riding his bike on the well maintained trail that goes through the woods around the perimeter. There was a ton of perfect firewood right by the large fire pit which was a big perk for us. The only drawback is the road noise as there is a busy road very nearby so if you are sleeping in a tent be prepared to have some road noise to deal with. Wasn't a deal breaker for me and we would love to stay again sometime if the opportunity presented. Paul was very responsive and we would absolutely recommend his hipcamp!

Paul’s set up makes camping a breeze. Plenty of seating, beautiful fire pit with free firewood available, porta potty, some shelter for evening hanging or protection from rain and nice tent pads. It stormed a lot the night I was camping and the tent pads drained nicely and did not pool water around my tent. The site is very easy to get to from the main road. Enjoy!
