Both my husband and I come from farm families, and we wanted to start our new family on a farm too. So after a long search, we found this beautiful spot overlooking the Cannon River Valley, and backed by DNR wildlands. We're starting small with a garden, chickens and friendly kitties, and we are working towards raising organic and heritage crops and pastured animals. We hope you will enjoy the rolling hills and shady woods as much as we do! Learn more about this land: Welcome to our family farm! Our 49 acres of rolling woods and prairie are located 1 hour south of the Twin Cities, 5 miles east of the Faribault exit. You will have privacy and shade in our camp site, surrounded by wild raspberry bushes. In the farmyard we have 4 free range laying hens, 3 friendly farm kitties, and scenic farm buildings. Lightning bugs fill the yard at night. Just a few steps from your campsite we have 2 hiking/walking trails-- a sunny prairie trail and a shady woods trail. The camp site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and portable toilet. You can pull up to the campsite to unload, and parking is a short walk away in the driveway. In case of rain, you can use the open shed near your campsite as a rain shelter. The views of the Cannon River valley at sunset are spectacular and you will enjoy our peace and quiet. We are 3 miles from downtown Faribault, 12 miles from scenic Northfield, and 5 miles from the beautiful Nerstrand Big Woods State Park. You can go boating in Minnesota’s lakes country, visit nearby wineries, go golfing at 3 local public golf courses. Things to do in Faribault: - River Bend Nature Center - Cannon River Wilderness Area - Historic Faribault Woolen Mill store and tours - Faribault Historical Society - Alexander Faribault House tours - Eat at delicious local restaurants, distilleries and breweries Things to do in Northfield: - Shopping at numerous antique, arts and boutique shops - Eat at local restaurants, cafes and breweries - Visit Carleton and St. Olaf Colleges - Take a walk along the Cannon River Don’t miss the Nerstrand Big Woods State Park!

Perfect host and property

Singing Hills Farm Camping

Super nice host. Nice quiet property with chickens and country cats. Would advise sending them an ETA. The city of Faribault is beautiful with lots of parks and activities. Bicycling, walking and dining is easy.

Quiet Farm Camp near Faribault

The property was exactly as advertised. The campsite was at the back of the farmyard, but with only one group campsite we still felt like we had privacy. Mercedes was very responsive to our questions and requests. There were some mosquitoes, but not horrible. Mercedes sprinkled mosquito repellent when we asked for it. The porta-potty was the cleanest one I have ever seen. Nerstrand Big Woods state park is close by for hiking and Faribault is only a couple of miles away for anything you might need.
