There’s a reason they have openings
25 ft travel trailer · With pets · If you are desperate and there is no other place to stay, then sure. It is rustic and could be nice, but the lack of pride of ownership means grass is 10 inches tall, buildings are rotting and falling apart, and the fishing docks that they falsely advertise as having are all broken, rotted and lying on shore. In addition, there must have been hard rains earlier in the summer because most of the roads have foot deep washouts for meters- a massive broken leg and lawsuit waiting to happen!! And good grief- don’t walk into the lodge/bar and hope to get waited on. Went in to see about renting a kayak, and three people stood there. Two kept looking at me at the desk and turning away, and a third girl sat with her back to me playing on her cell phone. I assumed that the reason the other two didn’t help me was because it was phone girl’s job, but wouldn’t they at least tell her a customer was there?! Stood there for what seemed like an eternity (5 minutes) as they did nothing, and I finally had to interrupt phone girl’s scrolling to get help.
Thought we’d stop over for a drink the next night and phone girl was working the bar. There were TWO people in there who already had drinks, and she couldn’t be bothered to wait on us. An easy $100 passed up for the business, and clearly she didn’t need the tips either. No problem- we saved money, and they have even less to invest back in their substandard business. This place needs a bulldozer, new facilities and definitely new workers!
