Primitive camp site with access to great fishing lake. Bring your camper or tent and enjoy listening to resident loons, watching an active eagle’s nest up close, and soaking in all the sounds of nature. Unwind and disconnect at this private site at the end of a dead end gravel road. Located on the north side of Hancock Lake, 1 mile east of pristine Eagle Lake, in Otter Tail County! Swim at Eagle Lake’s amazing sand beach or land your boat there. Then retreat back to the campsite for a peaceful evening sunset! Kayak, fish, play horse shoes, walk, relax, enjoy. Amenities: - Dock - Eagle viewing - Fire ring - Picnic table - Swings for kids - Horse shoe pit - Quiet road for walks/biking - Easy access, self check-in/out - *no electric hookups - *no toilet - *no water for drinking/washing - *no swimming beach - *no garbage service (take all garbage home) Nearby attractions: - Inspiration peak (8 miles): hiking - Battle lake (11 miles): quaint town with arts, ice cream, restaurants, beach, playground - Eagle Lake Park (2 miles): swimming beach, boating, fresh water coral, Caribbean clear water - Silver Sage Ranch (4 miles): horseback riding - Glendalough State Park (14 miles): hiking, biking, swimmingPrimitive site sitting right on the water on a dead end gravel road. Panfish Landing: “The Corner”
This was the getaway we needed! The countryside feel plus the option to kayak on the lake was perfect!! We stayed their two nights in our RV, opened the windows all night long and loved feeling the breeze and sound of birds. It is near the dirt road but honestly in two days we maybe saw 4 cars! We ordered fresh eggs from the host and they were delicious! There was a fire pit and a charcoal grill for cooking !! The view was unbeatable and my kids would sit on the end of the dock and eat their ice cream. We read under the beautiful trees and napped outside. These were moments I will never forget. We rented a canoe and kayaks and saw an otter! Also loved looking at the lily pads and their flowers. My absolute favorite was seeing the firefly’s at night!! I would for sure go back.
