We stayed for just one night and did not visit the town of Luverne. So, I am commenting on the campsite, only. I give it three stars because the description on Hipcamp is too rose-colored.
The plus points: it has full hookup sites, it was inexpensive, and not far from the interstate.
The negative points: 1. The description highlights "The Lake" and the "quiet area", making it seem as a natural area. However, it is located in close proximity to a plant, railroad tracks, and what looks like repair shops. The hum from traffic on the interstate and from the plant were quite noticeable. To be fair: the only train passed at 8:20 AM). 2. The host did NOT contact us, NOR respond to our message.

We easily located Brian's spot and enjoyed exploring the cute town of Luverne as well as Beaver Creek (The Cidery!) as well as Sioux Falls.
For larger rigs I would recommend spots 1 or 2. We ended up in spot 4 and we fit in it just fine, but we're not the best at backing up and it took us several tries due to the angle. (That's on us, not Brian!)

Very well situated and includes full hookups. Great view overlooking the lake. Was greeted promptly and we were set up in no time. Great, safe spot for an overnight (or two or three). Be sure to check out JJs Diner for a good meal.

Brian’s camp site was easy to access and utilize. It was close to some great restaurants and located right off on interstate 90. Brian was kind, and waiting for us when we arrived. We had a pretty view and everything we needed to be comfortable before heading on our way. Thanks Brian!

Great place to stop for a night or two. It is a gravel driveway across from a town owned lake. Brian met us when we pulled in and gave us the lay of the land. It was a very quiet and pleasant stop. If in the area again, we would definitely spend another night there.

It was nice to have full hookups at the site. The area was calm and pleasant. The site was spacious and easy to get in and out of. Brian was easy to work with and helpful. Will definitely stay again when coming to Luverne.

Gravel sites are located on a dead end street across from a city park with a lake. Trees have been planted, to eventually provide shade. Each back in site is full hookup with a fire ring and picnic table. Nice quiet place for an overnight stop.

Brian's Hipcamp was a perfect quick overnight stop! The site met all our needs for our trailer. I met with Brian upon arrival and he explained everything. We were the only one's there so we got our pick of the 4 sites. All were the same setup except for backing in angles. It was quiet and nice peaceful view across from the lake.

Very solid site. We loved being across the street from the lake - so peaceful, and kids caught a number of fish. It was a really convenient spot right off of the interstate. Full hookup - great basic spot to camp for the night. Bonus was being next to the Lucerne Loop Trail - awesome 7 mile trek for cyclists and runners. Recommended!

Brian was a spectacular host. Met us upon arrival, told us where we could park and was available to answer our many questions about the area. He went above and beyond to help with a problem we were having. Full hook up at no cost was a great perk. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely wonderful experience. The host met us onsite and was so kind. The Lake directly across the street is beautiful. The whole town is lovely and we celebrated Father’s Day at the local Pizza Ranch buffet which was also wonderful. Highly, highly recommend this location. We used it as a home base to day visit Sioux Falls and Sioux City. Easy drive and just off interstate 90. We look forward to coming back again. You won’t be disappointed this is a great site, great host, great location, and great little town.

Close proximity to beautiful, quaint little town. Located in excellent spot across from The Lake. Brian offered free use of kayak and was welcoming and helpful with requested recommendations for things to do. Site was very neat and felt very safe.
