Terrific location, quiet and set away from any neighbors. Gentle slope ensures even recent rains drain off reasonably well. Beautiful fall colors, short hike down to the river & bluffs with great wading for our visit. Even the toilet facilities were clean, well kept, and better than expected (though bring a lantern to keep in there as it gets a bit dark).

We loved our camping trip at Eric’s Bluff Hollow Camp. The site is a tranquil GEM nestled underneath scenic bluffs at a sharp turn of the Root River. Everything is clean and well-maintained, and Eric is a responsive and affable host. I have been scouting for private campsites near trout streams and this IS the place! We are looking forward to returning next spring!

Went tent camping here and it was worth every dollar. Quiet, private, and absolutely beautiful scenery. The property owner is generous, communicative, and maintains the land very well. Cleanest outhouse I've ever seen!! Lots of deadwood for fires and a nice stream for collecting water to filter.

Absolutely gorgeous site. It's huge, you really feel like you have the ENTIRE forest and river to yourself. Me and my dogs had the time of our lives just wandering around. Lots of critters around. I heard coyotes nearby so watch your small dogs!

This was our second stop across the country. I absolutely loved the place and wish I had an opportunity to stay longer. Even though a crazy storm kept me up, almost toppled the tent, and flooded everything it was an amazing experience. Would absolutely go back. 🥰

Beautiful, extremely private. Trees are just starting to turn and it’s gorgeous. This time I opted not to bring my fishing pole and of course I saw multiple trout in the river.
I realized on day 2 of our stay that we booked during deer opener and worried that nearby hunting could provoke my reactive dog, but any shots heard were far away and it wasn’t a problem!
The most impressively clean port-a-potty I’ve ever used.
Love this site. Eric is great host—clear directions and expectations are appropriately set!

What an amazing and tranquil place. Hicking trails and a river surrounded by bluffs to enjoy. Very clean and well maintained property. Will definitely be coming back hopefully for years to come.

Fabulous as always. Unfortunate that on the way down, the skies opened and there was a monsoon. It was muddy and the mosquitos were brutal. The next day everything was back to normal. Bathroom was clean, fire pit was clean, the beach was great and the bugs weren’t too bad. Host is always very responsive.

The Bluff Hollow site is extremely peaceful. We were able to camp in the lower area right by the Root river. If there were heavy rains the lower campsite may become somewhat not as pleasant to camp at and impossible with a camper. Eric does mention that in his description of the land. Next time I hope my whole family can join.

Overall quiet and private. Was more expensive than others on average a night and you couldn’t get down to the bottom site on the river with a camper. it’s very steep and if it rains like they say in the add , you’re cooked. We’ve used this app every month or twice a month all early spring-summer and don’t stop till deer season is done in November and it was not our fav. Wood was ok for price. Better than buying at the gas station. Bugs weren’t bad even with the rain. Only real issue we had was when we asked if there was any chance they could de-spider the very spider heavy bathroom I was told they never had complaints before and don’t have bug spray. Offered to refund us the weekend if we wanted to pack back up and leave. It wasn’t the most amazing bedside manner. They did refund the wood we didn’t use. So if you’re in a tent or good 4x4 the lower camp looks nice we just could pray to get there. Too low ground clearance on our little camper. There was wood shavings on the hill but boy it’s steep. Maybe not for us but good for others. We are a small 17 ft hybrid camper filled with 2 adults 2 kids and 2 dogs. Love camping and this app. Just not the spot for us. Also. The toilet is a fair walk uphill from the lower camp for those late night potty runs.

We’ve been coming every summer for a few years now and the camp never disappoints. There’s not much more to say about how awesome it is. Read the reviews, they do not lie. This place is amazing. I personally read reviews for insider information, so we will leave a few tips. We bring a lantern to leave in the bathroom and dusk til dawn string lights for the outside of the bathroom. Not a game changer, but a nice perk. We also pack a fire grate for cooking, old camp chairs for sitting IN the river and water shoes. Other than that, what we usually bring on a camp trip is the same.
This last trip in August we especially loved the fireflies and the multiple barred owls that we called in.
Eric is awesome, super helpful and we love that purchasing wood is an option. Easy peasy!

Great river adjacent site, beautiful bluffs and scenery. Great for pets to roam and explore. River is nice and mellow with good spots to wade and float. I can't wait to bring the whole family.

Beautiful land! Plenty of river to explore & wildlife to enjoy- fish, frogs, fireflies, snapping turtles, crayfish, & more. We stayed for one night and had a great time. I’d recommend this stop to others and would happily return again.

Visiting Bluff Hollow has become a beloved annual tradition, and each year, the site reveals more surprises. The landscape changes from year to year with a gorgeous river view in the lower camp. The site is always clean and quiet, a tranquil getaway. In three days, we did not see one person, and there was so much to explore!
