The property and cabin were lovely. There's no traffic sounds, plenty of wildlife, and a big open field out front. The cabin itself was perfect with comfy beds, stocked firewood, and plenty of space. Amanda was very responsive and brought us more toilet paper when we were running low. This was one of the best Hipcamp experiences I've had!

We loved spending time at this cute little cabin! The property was beautiful and very well kept and clean. The views were amazing and it was so peaceful. We had a pet emergency and had to leave a night early, Amanda was very accommodating, friendly, and helpful in our prompt departure. If we ever come back to this area, we'll definitely come back to the cabin! Thank you Amanda!

Very cozy cabin and beautiful land. This was a very “all to yourself” site other than 1 day a parade of side by sides went across the property right behind the cabin. We weren’t aware that others would be accessing the driveway/trails on the property during our stay. There were lots of ticks but there were not mosquitoes. Bring flashlights as the inside of the cabin stays dark throughout the day because of so much tree coverage which is great for temp control. Amanda was great for fulfilling our water needs. We would absolutely go back.

Great stay! The snow blocked the sign to the road but Amanda was helpful in getting us back on track. Once we were there the cabin was exactly what you could ask for. Warm cabin surrounded by gorgeous scenery blanketed in snow.

We had a great time! Amanda was an excellent host with great communication. The cabin and property were clean and well maintained with the essentials provided. We brought everything else we needed for the weekend we planned. We found the property to be secluded, scenic and peaceful. It was very enjoyable to sit outside, feel the breeze and listen to the sounds of nature without any disruption. We would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was comfortable, in a beautiful location mowed and stocked with firewood and water. The mosquitos were aggressive! Bring your bug spray. The app didn’t lead us to the cabin on the first try, but we found it. Signage would help. Overall good camp

Amanda’s land was perfect for a weekend getaway! Truly such a peaceful location filled with the many sounds of nature. Amanda left us with plenty of firewood, water and charcoal for the grill. Would definitely recommended and will be back!

Great place to hangout! The cabin is easy to find and easily accessible to carry in your things. The wood stove was great when the weather started to drop making it easy to keep the cabin comfy. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere by still had cell service which was nice just in case. I was even able to capture a view of the aurora on my phone.

I absolutely loved staying at Amanda's cabin! You have total privacy and it's so quiet. It's the perfect place to stay with dogs thanks to all the space around it. I can't wait to be back!!

This was our second year at 16 squared and we will be back for a third! Last year we were snowshoeing, this year we were practically sunbathing during the same weekend and both were wonderful experiences! Love the space, it’s perfect for reactive dogs and humans who need to decompress.

We absolutely loved our time in this cozy little cabin. Amanda was super responsive and even opened up dates that weren’t initially open. This was our second Christmas up north and we loved it. Great trails to explore, cozy wood stove and very comfortable beds for sleeping! 100% recommend!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It is soooo secluded and quiet, and we loved hearing the owls at night. Our dogs loved all the space to run and the trails were so fun to explore. The bunk beds were actually quite comfortable and the wood burning stove kept us nice and toasty all night long. I honestly don’t feel like the pictures do the space justice. We’ll definitely be back.

I stayed at 16 Squared Cabin and I had no problems finding it which was located a little ways down and was fairly quiet and beautiful area. Unfortunately, my trip was in early November so the northern lights didn't show at the time but I was able to have clear skies at night for star gazing. There was firewood already setup both inside and outside the cabin for easy access which was greatly appreciated since it was a bit chilly when I arrived. Had a fire started right away in the wood burning fireplace which I thought was very novel and enjoyed very much. I didn't get a chance to try out the trails though since it was deer season in the surrounding areas and I didn't bring an orange jacket. Amanda did offer it but I decided not to partake anyways since it was cold and slushy on the trails that I could see. Maybe next time! All-in-all, I had a good time at Amanda's cabin and would go back again if I am ever in the area.

My partner and our dog had an absolute blast staying at Amanda’s cabin.
The pictures do not do justice to just how beautiful the land around the cabin is. The cabin itself is sparsely furnished but incredibly cozy. The outhouse was also the cleanest, nicest outhouse I’ve ever used.
We are already looking forward to coming back in the near future!

This is our second stay at Amanda’s site and we once again loved it! We weren’t able to explore as much last time due to below zero temps, so we really enjoyed checking out more of the land this trip. The trails are easy to follow and mowed.

Super location for dogs! Nicely mowed trails as well as entry driveway allowed a lot of space to stretch out the pups. Great privacy. Peaceful. Area around cabin kept up beautifully. Fire pit was huge - awesome!

My husband, dog, and I were looking for lodging near Voyageurs NP. We enjoyed the privacy and solitude of the cabin. The cabin is a great destination for peace and quiet. We were comfortable with the amenities.

16 square cabin has been a great base camp for us to explore Northern Minnesota while visiting from Washington State. We took a day to explore Voyageurs National Park, another to explore Split Rock Lighthouse and our final full day to visit McCarthy Beach State Park. Our next travel destination will be the UP of Michigan. Hipcamp is a great way to see and experience each place we travel to. Thank you Amanda for letting us stay at your place. The fire pit is wonderful.

What a little slice of heaven this is! We love to go off grid camping with our two pups who are pretty aggressive so it's nice to be able to let them off leash once in a while. Amanda is the kindest person you'll ever meet and so accommodating and helpful, a delight to chat with through the app. Sadly, we tried to bring our 5 month old baby over Memorial Day weekend and the mosquitoes and ticks were pretty bad and chased us off. We will be back when it's a bit cooler and hopefully the bugs aren't as bad. Amanda did everything she could to make us comfortable and the grass was freshly cut. We were disappointed to find out we couldn't pull our camping rig up next to the cabin. We will be better prepared next time. Thanks for sharing this magical place with us Amanda! We'll be back! ☺️

We had a wonderful time at 16 Squares! We desperately needed a getaway to pass the last few weeks of winter and Amanda’s cabin was it - we had SUCH a great time hiking and snowshoeing around with our two dogs, making dinners over the fire and snuggling up with some board games in the evening. Everything was exactly as described and pictured - even better! We will be back for sure.

The location is perfect and the cabin had exactly what we wanted (a nice wood burning stove, a table and some comfortable beds). There was no electricity or running water, but that made it even better. This was a true "getaway" from our busy lives and was the perfect spot to reflect on all the wonderful gifts we have in nature.
