Thanks for hosting us, this was the perfect one night stopover to grab some rest while driving from Ohio to do a week backcountry camping at Porcupine Mountains in the UP. Location allowed us to break up the drive nicely. While there is a road nearby, road noise is not noticeable since traffic is low in this rural area. We’d certainly stay again traveling for future UP adventures.

I've never camped outside of a campground before and honestly I've never enjoyed camping. But with the pandemic it seemed the only way to get away for a vacation with almost 100% certainty of no one else being around.
I was absolutely taken back by how much I enjoyed myself. It was not only a comfortable little secluded spot, it was set up to really accommodate the less experienced campers. There was a "counter" for preparing meals, a bucket type toilet with directions in case it wasn't obvious what to do, firewood already waiting(it costs $5 for a bundle) and a few different options for sitting.
We were not prepared for the cold weather and froze near to death the first night. There was a storm coming the next night so we cut our trip short begrudgingly.
On top of everything, lake Michigan was only a 10 minute drive away!
Definently print/write out directions to and from the site because there is no signal there for cell phones. I recommend looking up directions to the lake or wherever u want to visit as well.

This is an amazing place. Right off the road but with very minimal traffic going by so It’s super peaceful.
We took a walk down the road and saw deer playing in the fields and even picked a few apples from some apple trees that were growing in a field next to the road.
The bathroom in my personal opinion was the best part. This was the first time I’ve ever used anything like that and now I want to buy one for myself. (I recommend leaving the door open if you want a whole new bathroom experience) LOL
If you’re hoping to use you phone make sure you do it before arriving though. Finding a cell signal was pretty tough. I enjoyed it actually.
Will definitely come back.

Very nice set up tucked in off the highway, minimal highway noises on a very secluded road. Great space for car and van camping, nice and flat for tent camping.
- excellent campfire cooking set up with adjustable cook surface, multiple all-weather tables and good chairs.
- large outdoor "kitchen island" style workspace with provided water jugs and picnic table, perfect for prepping food or dealing with any work that might need to get done.
- beautiful and well-kept space with solar lights lining the perimeter and trails.
Would definitely camp here again!

Great spot! Tucked away in the woods with all your essentials and then some! We loved the layout and solar lights. Had we needed another night we would have rented bikes. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful experience at Tiny Forest! The campsite itself is situated off a two lane road but feels very private. The kitchen area with counter and lockbox was super convenient and a nice change from having to bend over a picnic table to prep all your meals. The bathroom tent was very nice and the firepit area was great! This site is in a perfect area if you want to get to a variety of beaches in a relatively short amount of time. Morning kayaking in the mist at Larks Lake was incredible, and you're a 20-30 minute drive to insanely clear water at Sturgeon Bay or, if you go further, Wilderness State Park. All in all a perfect spot to get away!

This spot was great! With being situated on a corner property, with only a few far off residents in the area, it was quiet and secluded. The arrangement of utilized space is very nicely designed and spread out. The camping toilet tent is by far the best accommodation, way better than digging your own hole or a campsite outhouse. I was camping solo, and for 3 nights in an area not familiar with, so when the dark of the night fell, I found myself comforted by the sound of a car driving thru. This is not a state regulated campsite, this is a property within the northern forests of Michigan, so you will mostly likely hear sounds of wildlife in the distance… and this is just one of the reasons why it's so great…Sturgeon Bay Wilderness State Park is just a 15-20min drive away bringing you thru the small town of Cross Village which takes you to sandy dunes and beaches and hiking trails. I loved every second of this experience… and highly recommended for anyone looking for an all around nature adventure!

Great place! Super cute and wish we had time for a fire to enjoy it more! Pretty buggy, so we caked on the bug spray. The host is great and responds quickly 😊
