Nestled in the heart of Northern Michigan is our 36-acre property, made up of our homestead, sweeping meadows, hardwood forest, and pine groves where camping sites await to serve as your home base for recreational adventures during your stay. We're only 2.7 miles east of Lake City, the idyllic summer vacation hot spot featuring the greatest 4th in the North and the Festival of the Pines in early fall. This place is equidistant from the Manistee River to the northwest and the Muskegon River to the east, with easily accessible drop-in spots for your kayaking or boating adventures—only a 15-minute drive to either one. Minutes to the north are the vast ORV and snowmobile trails of the northern Lower Peninsula. The city of Cadillac is 20 minutes down the road, and other destinations such as Traverse City are less than an hour's drive. If peace and quiet are more up your alley, the respite of the forest here is bound to quiet your heart and replenish your soul. Walking trails, sitting areas, and hammock circles are available for your enjoyment. As this is our home, we will likely be engaged in working on our various projects around the place—like our garden or our natural building projects in the woods. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to host you here in This Place.Engulfed in pine trees adjacent to a meadow is a private site with flat grassy areas for tents and a firepit and picnic table. Accessible by dirt road trail, this site is an ideal basecamp for surrounding area activities, as well as a relaxing space to just be here. The site is approximately 400 feet from the compost toilet, and 200 feet from the playground. Water is available up at the house. Easy access to the trails in our back 17 acres of mixed hardwoods.

Accessible by dirt road trail, this site is an ideal basecamp for surrounding area activities, as well as a relaxing space to just be here. The site is approximately 400 feet from the compost toilet, and 200 feet from the playground. Water is available up at the house. Easy access to the trails in our back 17 acres of mixed hardwoods.
