Spanning approximately 25 acres, this picturesque park was acquired by Jackson County from Frances Mille Dodes on December 21, 1926, for $5,000. The park officially became part of the county on December 18, 1968, when the Jackson County Road Commission transferred the land to the County of Jackson. Named after Isaac N. Swain, a former property owner in the area, Swains Lake is surrounded by lush landscapes that provide a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
