This historic property was originally settled in the 1840s as a mint and dairy farm. After decades of quiet neglect, it’s now coming back to life as a cozy, working farm—revitalized with love, sweat, and just the right amount of magic. Here, you’ll find secluded tent sites, fire pits with wood included, a clean outhouse, and select sites with power access—all surrounded by towering trees and open sky. In the fall, the property transforms into a festive playground with a pumpkin patch, family-friendly corn maze, and even a rideable miniature railroad with nearly a quarter mile of track (yes, adults can ride too!). Just outside Colon, Michigan—the Magic Capital of the World—you’ll find Stickley Family Farms, a peaceful off-grid escape made for stargazers, fire pit storytellers, and quiet adventurers. Bring your tent and enjoy total privacy as you wander open fields, shaded trails, and our slowly reborn family farm. Your site includes a fire pit (with wood stocked and waiting) and a picnic table—perfect for roasting hot dogs, making s’mores, and enjoying long, starlit evenings by the flames. Just 1.5 miles down the road, downtown Colon offers pizza, burgers, a quirky magic shop, and live performances by world-class magicians. The town sits between two beautiful lakes with public docks, kayak access, and some of the best fishing in Southwest Michigan. Depending on the season, you might hear a tractor gently humming in the distance or spot deer crossing through the woods at dawn. Birds provide the soundtrack, and the occasional breeze through the trees adds just the right harmony. We’re under two hours from Grand Rapids, an hour from Kalamazoo, and less than 30 minutes from Battle Creek—making this a perfect weekend recharge. And if you visit in the fall, you might catch us working the pumpkin patch or firing up our rideable miniature train! This is real camping with heart. No crowds. Our RV campsite is a designated area that can contain pretty much any sized camper. It has 30 amp electrical service and potable water within 55 feet (bring a hose and electrical cords). No waste disposal is available on site. Guests are welcome to use outhouse on the property.

This was our second time back at this amazing campsite, and it did not disappoint! Keith is top notch—super welcoming, friendly, and makes sure you have everything you need for a great stay. The site is peaceful, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Keith’s Hipcamp site! The campsite was nestled in a peaceful little clearing that offered plenty of privacy, and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into maintaining the space—the grass was freshly mowed and everything felt tidy and welcoming. The outhouse was clean and just a short walk away, which we really appreciated. There was a bit of activity on the property, but it was never intrusive. In fact, the few people we did encounter were incredibly kind and helpful. It really added to the overall sense of hospitality. We’re already looking forward to coming back later this year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, well-kept spot to relax and unwind in nature

Private Camping w/ Fire Pit + Power
The host and his family were so nice and allowed us use of the corn maze even though they weren't actually open yet. Everything was so cute and clean here and my wife and I enjoyed staying at the gypsy cart. We'll certainly tell everyone about this place.

Stickley Family Farms was a perfect getaway spot for a little weekend getaway with a small family or friends. The property was easy to find with clear directions and once there the actual campsite was a quick drive down a cleared pathway for most sized vehicles. It was a bit wet out camping but not raining fortunately and Keith happily supplied us with some wood for our campfire to stay warm and keep dry. Once nighttime hit it was wonderful seeing the moon and stars from the spot we set up the tent in. The outhouse was a bit out of the way but not difficult to get to by any means and had toilet paper supplied even though we brought some with us, just keep a heads up for spiders. I can't recommend this spot enough since it was everything I looked for for a weekend trip and more since I like a more private camping experience.

It served the purpose for an overnighter. Unexpected experience, for sure. Family of the host showed up the night before our reservation and set up in our spot. Also, a farm hand on-site that will keep you company and visit often. Therefore, not so private. (The family was great! & farm hand very friendly.) Wood was nice to have on hand and the host was responsive and good with communicating.

We had a nice peaceful stay. Pretty close to the road but we were okay with that. Not too many cars passing by. Took a couple of tries but we were able to get level enough in the grass as well.

We had a great time at the Stickley Farm! Both campsites were really nice and there was an outhouse close by. The family is friendly and welcoming and have a lot of plans for their farm, I'm sure that the camping experience will just get better and better. We look forward to going back!

This is a great, easily accessible, and quiet site. We felt like we were in a remote area, but you are only a 5 min drive from anything you might have forgotten. We had a great stay and the area is dark enough for astrophotography!

This would have been a beautiful place to stay were it not for the extensive amount of poison ivy and stinging nettle at our campsite. Some kind of mower or vehicle was doing loops around our site very late at night and in the morning, which was a bit inconsiderate of whoever was driving.

Wonderful campsite tucked away just off the road. The drive here was beautiful. The site perfectly accommodated us with our SUV towing a small trailer. Quiet, peaceful, and we enjoyed a nice sunset and sunrise before continuing on our trip. Brand new outhouse was a nice amenity. Just what we needed, thank you!

This was the perfect spot for a road tripper like me. I didn’t need a campground or activities or anything like that, just a place to set up camp for a few days. The host was super friendly and showed me to my spot and was otherwise out of my hair. I was provided with plenty of firewood too. It’s in a good location not too far from a dollar store and gas stations and such.

Great little spot to pitch a tent

Our campsite was tucked into a little inlet in the trees in full shade next to a large field. The space was very large and split into 3 sections, which is nice for separate cooking, bathing, and sleeping areas. It was very quiet and we didn't see anyone else on the property until the last night. Most of the time we spent away visiting friends or out hiking and were able to come and go as we liked from the property. Lots of deer roam the woods and often would come right by us in the night, which could be terrifying if you didn't know what it was. I think they started to get used to us being there after a couple of nights, and didn't come by as much. The mosquitos can be daunting in Michigan in the summer, and here was so exception. Make sure you bring your bug spray! The downtown area of Colon is a sweet little place, and the locals were very friendly and welcoming to us there. We ate at Dawn's Cafe a few times, and definitely recommend stopping by there!

Private, secluded camp site.

The Rustic Farm Camp was perfect for our needs. The drive into the site is along side a farm field. The driveway path was smooth and easy to navigate. The campsite is on the edge of a farm field with a small clearing into the woods. The clearing was large enough for our 10x14 tent and 12x12 screen shelter. A fire ring and picnic table were provided. We needed a primitive campsite to orient our dogs to primitive camping. The site was perfect with seclusion provided by trees, bushes and undergrowth which provided our dogs boundaries. Several raspberry bushes surrounding the site - not quite ripe for eating yet. No power or water at the campsite but there was plenty of sun for recharging for solar powered items. I would book this site again and would recommend to friends.

Excellent location for a very private camping experience. We were able to back your 30' trailer into the spot with no problem. It was firm and level. Plenty of width to work around the trailer and still have a camp cooking area. There was a "secondary " site that contained the firepit where we placed out day shelter. This is a quiet location, very private. Great for sunbathing if you so desire. We dry camped, brought our own water and had a generator for use. Unfortunately, several severe storms shortened our planned visit by a day. We will definitely be back. Its probably a 3-4 min drive to a modern family dollar and also a gas station for bathroom and snack needs. Didn't meet the host but a ample supply of wood was situated at camp.
